I just described the hidden incentives to the way in which people PUBLICLY display their generosity and you interject that there exists GENUINE charity. I never claimed genuine charity didn't exist, I was laughing at how poorly constructed the entire video was and how unrealistic it is, and just how bad the acting is and the script, not the mention the really bad "ethics" they're trying to encourage that giving charity should be encouraged, yeah, in specific situations. Imagine a kid who understands the superficial value of brand name items aren't always valuable and that no society exists where you can't be teased or ostracized for anything about who you are. You know what kids used to tease everyone about at my school growing up? Hair color...how fat you were, how poor you were, how rich you were, which card game you liked to play, if you were smart, dumb....just being ANYTHING makes you a target for ridicule, so how about teaching kids to have a backbone and handle that they aren't going to be liked by everyone instead of trying to shame people for natural aversion to difference. There's not a single human being that doesn't react in that way. So instead of forcing us to socially evolve despite our biological behavior, we can understand it, so we aren't bitterly angry and crying for 'social justice' about something that is a natural occurance. You know what cures all bullying? Understanding. How do we understand? by educating ourselves and WANTING to understand. Good luck teaching that to kids lol all its gonna end up is shaming kids or behaving like kids...thats gonna get far.

She literally just got laid off and was able to afford living in LA before then. Picking up and moving costs money up front. You don't just teleport to a new location with all your stuff with a place already ready for you. And she'd be able to find a job in LA more easily than moving to other places with lower rent and fewer job prospects. Her best situation would be to use her current location to her advantage in finding jobs and hope that she finds one so she can get her son better clothes.
