The old AK sound is one of the most menacing gun sounds in any video game period. Any time you heard one pop off out of nowhere closeby there was this instant feeling of "Oh shit that's an AK...". I genuinely have no idea why they decided to change it. Pretty much all the other ones were great too, especially the LR-300 and Bolty. Sure the new ones are more "realistic" maybe, but does that matter? The original attack helicopter sound was way better as well.
As soon as the update dropped I just quit I didn’t even give myself 1 wipe on that garbage, if they had a mode for older mechanics like old recoil I’d start playing again but they added a mode for veteran players without said old recoil.
Well I think it was meant to help out newer players have a even playing field against rust veterans who’s reticle don’t move an inch, I love this game and just recently got into it and although I never got to try old recoil and get good at it, I can say I’m a lot more confident in fights knowing it’s almost even.
@@declorabis it shouldn’t be more even in fights like that, when I first played rust I got my ass kicked but I practiced and got better, it felt satisfying to get better at simply aiming and controlling the recoil, it wasn’t like every other game and it wasn’t for those who didn’t value skill building, but they removed the sole reason I bought the game when they sold out and decided to forget about what the rest of us think and leave us in the dust basically.

ngl as a rust viewer the old sounds i could tell "ok thats a ak ok thats a mp5"etc but with these new sounds ill be watching blooprint or someone and he will say something like "thats a ak" and im like dude the guns sound THE EXACT SAME like how can you tell a difference in the sounds now

We must stand and unite in bringing back old sounds and gun recoil. if they want bring something new, the can experiment with new guns and new sounds for this new guns, but without touching old close to hearts of many. People spend time to master recoil and it's something to respect. Devs, must bring old recoil and sounds or they risk to ruin the game and lost many players with such move.

Can’t wait when the rust devs realize this influx in players is a short term thing and then when the players start disappearing they bring these back or let the game die
Without having to work on recoil there is no incentive to play if you group isn’t on and now rust solo is boring and even if your loaded it doesn’t hit the same at all

I miss old rust so much. Most fights feel like a coin toss now, maybe you win maybe you wont either way there's no real skill involved.
