My thoughts are: Jay asks to use a charger and gets told that there is one in the bedroom. He goes in and sees something worth stealing (drugs? Money? Another watch?). After stealing said item, he makes his excuses and leaves prior to being found out. He doesn't want to wait outside for a bus and is clearly not going to wait for a lift off someone he has stolen from. He decides to leave on foot and may have taken a cross country route, rather than easily be caught whilst walking down the road. He then either has an accident and is lost, or was found by the gentlemen he just stole from.
¿why? I'm no expert but I'd guess most people project what they'd do in a situation to someone in a similar situation. I if i went back to an after party at some geezers house and saw a nice watch/wad of cash/pile of drugs i certainly wouldn't nick it!! weird. would you steal it?????

Yeah, that would make sense, as the guy would likely leave his watch on the side whilst sleeping. Maybe Jay nabbed it and had to get out of there. He certainly wouldn't want to wait 2 hours for the bus and would be likely to avoid the main road in that situation, in case they looked to catch up with him. Lucy drove up there because: (1) she's telling YOU that he (jay) phoned her to tell her that he was in real difficulties with the terrain. By then he was ALREADY off road, no water 1% battery left on phone, out raving ALL night. So she's (understandably) making out that she rushed all the way to Masca because (& CRUCIALLY) Lucy was concerned for Jay & for those reasons alone.
However if you're asking me to put "2&2 together", the real reason why Lucy rushed ALL the way to Masca is because (& just like that Mali boys), all the way throughout Jay's time in Tenerife, Lucy was aware that Jay was in serious trouble over the "expensive stolen watch", that the owner of the "expensive stolen watch" wouldn't just forget about the theft & that she ( Lucy knew) that realistically, the owner of the "expensive stolen watch" would eventually hunt Jay down over the theft before he flew back to England.
They all know each other & i reckon Lucy knew that once the owner (with others to) were on their way to Masca & once the Mali boys confirmed with Lucy that the owner of the "expensive stolen watch" was on his way to Masca or ( worst still for jay), had ALREADY arrived in Masca, that's when Lucy raised the alarm by reporting Jay missing to the police because she knew (with the Marli boys to) EXACTLY what it was all about & how REALISTICALLY, this was going to end very badly for Jay Slater.

I would have thought that if you are totally innocent and have nothing to hide then you come clean and try your very best to help the authorities and the family, mud only sticks to you if you have something to cover up. Think the watch was an AP not a Rolex , assuming it was one in the short video posted on Qassims social media next day then taken down. If Qassim is doing all the donkey work and won't give the other guys name up I'd say that guy was above Qassim and it'd be more than his life's worth. They are all involved in class As so I don't think it would be an innocent person who just didn't want heir name out for innocent reasons. All Rolex watches have identification numbers you can't remove without damage. If the 'owner' had stolen it they likely would not report it if it's stolen again from them.

I can’t understand your point regarding the Rolex and staying in a £40 a night accommodation. The location of the B&B is key to laying low and off the radar, put yourself in the situation of a known criminal do you stay in a swanky hotel living it large or stay in some remote area where you can keep low while conducting business. Any criminal isn’t going to live it large and draw unwanted attention from the police. To catch a criminal you’ve sometimes got to think like one, ask any Police force and they will say the same thing the criminals are always one step ahead.

I’m under the understanding that they gave a fake name to the AirBnB, In other words, the AirBnB didn’t have their information. The BnB was reportedly booked last minute. The Rolex as a code word makes sense given that he wanted to sell it for £10 which is too small of a sum for an expensive watch.

Just playing devils advocate for a second here. So the phone charging situation could be explained…maybe they didn’t have the correct charger that Jay needed 🤷🏻♀️ maybe he was Apple iPhone and they both had android phones? It would explain why he didn’t have much battery when he left the b&b. Or…maybe quassim didn’t have the right charger but thought his friend might and sent Jay into his room to see. I think that’s the more likely explanation if Jay left the air b&b unharmed and did wonder off.

I can assure you that “Rolex” is not a reference to drugs at all. Jay had been in the country for just a few days on first trip abroad, so he would not have been trusted with a large quantity of drugs to distribute.
It’s now thought that the the watch theft incident did occur, the watch actually being an AP (Audemurs Piquet), and that the drunk person it belonged to was not a “nobody” but actually a “somebody” known on the island of Eastern European background.
There is definitely more to this case than somebody just getting lost but don’t believe it to be drugs related although large amounts were probably consumed by all the people involved
So how was his phone on 1% and why lucy and brad to 2 friends are the only 2 that speak about jay in the past tense , the only 2 that apparently spoke to him before he went missing, all them friends are suss as hell

In the drug world, a quid is slang for a grand (£1,000).
If the Rolex belonged to a drug dealer or similar, they're not very likely to report it as stolen to the police, I've heard this over and over again in a few videos, whatever it was, the fact it wasn't reported to the police doesn't mean much in itself. However, it could be a code word for something else also.
It can't be a code word because no one ever said rolex except people on the Internet, the watch he allegedly stole was an AP .
