For anyone who wanted to know all the references in this sonic: 1.The emitter is shaped like a bullet with an engraved ring at the top this being a reference to the classic sonics. 2.The top half of the sonic is a reference to 12th sonic and also a dalek gun and the doctor has been told he would make a good dalek. 3.the light up circles that can be seen when the sonic is fully extended is a reference to the classic tardis interior with the white glowing circles on the wall. 4.the claw's or petals as thay are officially called is a reference to the 11th doctors sonic. 5.the slider/activation button has the Sonic's designer son's name written in gallifreyan on it. 6.the crackle design is a reference to 9 and 10s sonic. 7.the leather grip part is a 2nd reference to 11s sonic. 8.the silver end part is a reference to the master laser screwdriver. 9.the very end of the sonic has a hexagonal whole in it so you can put a hex bit screwdriver in it and build a cabinet this is a reference to the war doctor and river song making remarks at the doctor using the sonic to build cabinets.
What’s interesting is that we never really see 14th get a new screwdriver, it just sort of just shows up out of knowhere, no introduction. Even 15s Sonic remote got a bit of an introduction.
It's not normal for a new screwdriver to get an introduction. The 3rd Doctor's sonic never got an introduction. Neither did the 4th/5th or 7th/8th Doctor's screwdrivers, and of course the 6th Doctor never had a screwdriver. There was also no introduction for the 9th/10th Doctor's sonic. The ONLY screwdrivers that got introductions were the 2nd, 11th, 12th, & 13th Doctor's sonics, so it's actually the norm to not introduce the new designs.
I worked so hard to avoid anything resembling a spoiler leading up to the actual airing, and now that I'm looking for his new sonic, it's been sold out for months. If I had a lathe and a cnc machine, I'd just build my own, but alas, my particular brand of superfandom has screwed me this time.
Mine, unfortunately, seems to not include the special feature when pushing both bottom and top buttons. Shame, since I got the online exclusive version.
@@SuperverseProductions No, I mean I think I got something slightly bootlegged, because the design on the slider button is absent. One of the wires connecting to the button on the bottom is also severed. Whenever I hold the bottom or both buttons the screwdriver just activates both light and sound as usual.
I know I'm a little late to the party but I absolutely love this sonic, probably my favourite to date. At 1st I thought the design was quite ornate and a bit much, but when I got my hands on this, and played around with it a bit, running around pretending to sonic stuff as you do, and really getting a feel for it, I really fell in love with it. Actually, it feels like a sci-fi tool and doesn't look so much like a dildo, like 13's. I think it will suit David Tennant really well, and I hope that we see it longer on screen than just the 60th specials. I'm really hoping Ncuti Gatwa keeps it for his 1st season or something. It's funny because Peter Capaldi used Matt Smith's sonic for his 1st series, but I think Peter should have got his own sonic straight away. Matt's sonic didn't suit Peter at all, in my humble opinion. But I think it would work quite well if Ncuti kept it for a while. Seem a shame to design a brand new beautiful sonic just for 3 episodes. I noticed you were struggling to find the different settings and I know they don't mention it in the box, so I thought I'd give you a guide as to how to get the settings you want. If you're in the main blue setting, If you press and hold both the main switch and the button at the bottom of the battery case for 3 seconds, you get the green setting, and it will bleep twice. If you press and hold the two buttons again it takes you back to blue (you can't go from blue to green to yellow to red, you have to go back to blue each time, which is the ONLY thing about it I don't like) and it will bleep once. Then, if you press and hold the 2 buttons for 4 seconds, it will bleep 3 times, and you will have a yellowish greenish colour, and it makes the diagnostic sound effect of 13's sonic. Then, if you press and hold it again, it will take you back to blue and bleep once. If you press and hold it for 5 seconds, you get the red setting. Elements of different sonics I see in this one, the end tip looks like the end tip from the war doctors sonic. The cage section looks like the end of 12's sonic as you pointed out, also slightly reminiscent of a dalek gun. I do think there's a reference to a classic sonic, the tube that lights up in the middle of the cage section, I think looks like the black collar in the 3rd 4th and 5th doctors sonic, if it was clear and lit up. You know when you pull down the collor and there is the black bit where the ring head is attached. The switch section is clearly from 9/10s sonic, and character options finally put the button on the slider, which is accurate to this sonic and to David Tennants original sonic. The black handle part and the claws that extend are from 11's sonic. And the end cap, the settings dial, is from the Masters laser screwdriver. And the curved end peace under the settings dial, I see a mix of 10's, 12's, and war doctors (the fez end cap). Captain Kyle, I love your doctor who reviews. Keep it up! Hope this helps to navigate the different settings more easily.
You look like the father of a socially innept, tall, nobel laureate that once tried to declare their apartment a sovereign nation. That is not meant as an insult btw

I'd also say that the blue light is meant to reference the 10th also.
@nathanielmorgan9108, as well as the Slider itself, since ten used his ogs sonics Slider more than 9 did
There's also a yellow setting with the same diagnostic sound effect from Jodie's sonic

If the general relise doesnt include the extra colours I at least hope the blue Led is bright enough for the tip of the emitter to light up
It does not

It also has a white bottom with a yellow top LED function
The emitter at the top is like the war doctors sonic
I bought this scrwwdriver off ebay and it broke after bout month or 2 after buying it the wire connecting the button on the bottom snapped

You have to hold it and let go for
2 seconds - Green
3 seconds - Yellow
4 seconds - Red

Thanks. Glad you enjoy them. Wish there was more to review. I am debating comparing the general release to this one.
@@FandomSpotlitePlease do a comparison between the two! I'm very interested in what all the differences between the two versions are.
The red setting is referencing River's sonic red setting
i'm planning on getting that because it would help with my steam/plague doctor cosplay
Captain Kyle Please review the retail screwdriver
I thought the end would resemble the masters laser screwdriver
It does
I wish i could get this in America
I got it. I'm in the US.
@@FandomSpotlite oh thank you. The sonic reminds me of the Trans-Temporal Sonic Screwdriver.
You have not done Sarah's sonic lipstick 💄

Missed it! Thank you 😊
Doctor who again allons-y

Interesting but it's not good to be swearing it does not sound look good or achieve anything
