- Where have I been? What happened? Am I okay? More specifically is Dakota okay?
In short yes we are fine. We are still trucking. This video is meant to really pay respects to not just my struggles, but to all those truck drivers out there also struggling. I know many are just holding it in and acting strong, but I hope I can speak to your heart with this video.
We aren’t alone. We isolate ourselves. Let’s try to do better.
Trucking and its toll on mental health is not something that should be looked over. The damage you can take on is severe if you don’t protect and manage your mental health.
There is help out there if you need it.

*We sincerely appreciate you for your hard work and sacrifice that went into the month long creation of this video.
P.S. Please don't delete your videos, I always enjoy watching them, especially the ones with the wonderful landscape shots or your adventures on the road. Your live videos from 2022 were also great! Please don't delete them.
PSS. Speaking of snakes never reach your hand inside a tire laying on the ground! Ditto turning something over laying on the ground with your hand! It won't just ruin your day but could ruin your career, or worse.
@@dantimber Hmm as someone from Australia our dogs always sense and find and know where snakes are before we do and am sure her dog would of found it first and given a idea of it.
Depends if her and her dog have worked together finding snakes etc as to if she would know it found something too,
But if you have no dog yes taking more care is very smart, Australia we have red back spider issues in tyres laying around we need to be careful of.
I’ve been living/driving in my truck for just about three years. I get what yer saying. I found my peace and joy through Jesus Christ. I make sure every day to take the time to reflect on what is truly important, despite whatever chaos my day is in. I’m praying for you dear.
You don't know how many people you might have saved by being so open, and vulnerable. I'll be thinking of you! Thank you for the beautiful views. Stay safe out there. :-)
I hope at least a few seek the help they need and a few more consider taking a look at how they feel more closely ❤️
@@ShelbyHBTM You are one of my favorite channels Wish you the best You make the life of a trucker very interesting And, the ONLY trucking channel I will ever watch I'm into ships and trains never got to do either one the crews are getting smaller train crews are down to 1 -2 And, the merchant industry isn't want it was like back in the old days Loved your ferry vids :) Love ALL your vids For years I look at the trailers on the road to see the company name like E B Hunt or where it came from like COSCO which is China Ocean Shipping CO Am a subscriber
Sometimes in life all you need is somebody to open up and realize hey there's other people out there like me does a lot of times when you're lonely sad depressed you think it's only you
I'm jeff I love your video can you drive wiith your black flats touching the gas
Loveyou
If you tube presents awards for best cinematography you would win hands down! Welcome back.
Shelby, my wife and I have followed your videos for years and love them. We really love to see your interaction with Dakota, your driving buddy/security officer. Remember that your not alone in your struggles and the more you share of the "trucking life" only helps all to understand the challenges that are faced in this industry. Nothing happens without trucks - no food, no products, no fuels - no anything! Truckers are like "Captains of the Road". Their Trucks are like a boat on the sea, with a very limited crew. Dakota is your first mate, but who is doing your filming (a deck hand). LoL Wonderful videos, we live in Bullhead City AZ about 30 miles west of Kingman. Please keep fighting the good fight and you will win!
Very well said Dido… don't give up!!!
So Well put "Old Guy"
@The_Oldguy Hello from Bullhead here on the parkway..
Wow it’s been almost a year. Glad to see you’re ok.
I’m a retired Truck Driver after 26 years OTR. I’m Glad to be home safely relaxing and working on my projects.
Trucking is stressful at times.
I remember the guy who trained me said “There will be times when you will want to cry!” He was correct!
Trucking can be very stressful that's for sure.
I have been trucking for 45 year's but you always have to keep people around you that have positive energy.
There is a fine line between adventure and ordeal , but always look for the adventure.
Mistakes are part of the job and just look at them figuring out how not to do it .
Find a handful of people in the trucking industry that you can trust.
I have life long friends that I have trucked with that you can call and ( talk you off the ledge ) when things are not going well.
Always remember that beautiful sun rise or sunset you seen and don't let the WTF stuff ruin your day.
You have done things in life most people just talk about.
Always stay positive.
Perfectly said
Much respect for your 45 years. Im at 32, just before the start of the CDL. Thank you for your service.
You took the thoughts right out of my head i been trucking for only 10 years now but many many hours behind the wheel and i have two or three people i know if i need to call them usually no matter the time they will pick up an let me ramble my thoughts or tell me tomorrow is another day when stuff hits the fan and feels like nothing goes right
@@someguysfishing
I don't think I would still be trucking if it wasn't for my other friends that are trucking also.
It's kinda a support group that knows that it's like out on the road. Like you said you can call them or they can call you anytime and just talk .
Mental health needs to stop being a taboo subject. The society we live in puts too much pressure on our shoulders, and there are simply times when our minds say "enough." You took the most difficult step, which is admitting that you need help to regain your focus. I hope everything gets better for you! A big hug!
Her degree is in psychology she can return to it anytime she wants
This video could not have came at a better time for me. It helps to know I’m not the only one who is struggling with the emotional turmoil that comes with trucking. Trucking is very rewarding but it can also completely shatter you if your not careful. I am currently about to take a year off of trucking for myself after 8 years…because trucking is is killing my mental. But I love trucking so I’ll be back. So glad your doing better…thanks for this video..❤
We are certainly a masochistic bunch aren't we. Lol. Ain't a trucker out there who isn't brand new (I specify cuz every rookie is super pumped off the hop but a couple years in you start to understand the hate part of the love/hate relationship lol) who doesn't have a love hate relationship with this profession. All the best my friend, take care of yourself!
It’s the push and pull. That’s the toxic bit. Not sure if we are chasing something imagined or something we love and put up with all that comes with.
@@ShelbyHBTM I fall into the 2nd camp. I do genuinely love this job. 3 years in myself and although the honeymoon phase ended around 1 year mark for me the last 2 years have still been extremely rewarding. I have way more good days than bad. BUT that being said, the little things add up enough that when I have a bad day I REALLY have a bad day like mentally off the rails kinda day where every small thing feels like someone just murdered my family. Basically my highs are HIGH and my lows are LOW there's not much in between. Blessed enough though that I have way more high/great days than low/bad days. But you really spoke to me though about the mental health side as realistically even though there's more good days than bad days, if my bad days cause me to completely go off my rocker that's an obvious sign I have a lot going on deeper that needs to be addressed. My patience on my bad days is non-existent. Shelby you really are a great person and following your journey has always been great we are all grateful you brought up the mental health topic more in depth as it's something that doesn't get enough attention in this industry!
@@ShelbyHBTM i am a huge fan of you and your dog and I love watching your trucking videos on your RUclips channel
@@ShelbyHBTM I agree…this is exactly how I feel about it…
Shelby !!!!!!! Me and my wife are still trucking . 4 Yrs ago you inspired us to take the leap. We look for you all the time . We are on 80 just left Salt Lake City headed to Pa .
I’ll be heading across 80 in the next few days. I’ll be around still doing my thing
@@ShelbyHBTM we was so happy to hear from you . Your video really hit home for us . As we also have had very difficult life’s. We actually discussed the possibility of getting some counseling. Our life’s growing up was filled with cruel and toxic people. We both feel that we rescued each other . Keep your head up and keep trucking.
What shoes do you wear when you drive
@@Jeffrey-xs3px ariat ropers why ! What does that have to do with it ahh I get it you want to no if I wear flip flops . Nope but this 260 pound NC mountain boy loves to go around wearing nothing but my bib overhauls . Driving for 25yrs

I love your video of you
I have been trucking 36 years and I can tell you this job is not for the weak but I must say you have done a good job and don't worry it gets to everyone at some point . Remember you health is more important than the job . Take care and be safe .
Wow, 2 drivers with more time than me in 1 day. Im at 32. Cheers driver!
Thank God you and Dakota are ok!
You definitely have Angels watching over you.
Love the new studio it’s very creative. 🙂
Looking forward to watching more videos. I started watching you when I was studying for my CDL.
Be safe know you have many of us praying and keeping you in our thoughts. ❤

Thank you for your Service - Lets get Shelby to the RUclips ... and better supportive platforms she deserves to be part of! I hope in my crouds her numbers will make a tangable difference to her bank account ... she (you Shelby) is just such a Natural friend that draws us in for more ... TO TEACH US PATIENCE when times get too tough for her to post ...
This is the first video of yours I’ve seen - and woah. The fact that you’re able to meet your delivery times while also filming yourself and so many unique compositions - impressed is an understatement. Mad respect. New sub 🤍
I just gotta say that you were one of the RUclips drivers that encouraged me to become a CDL A driver almost four years ago. I can remember when your channel was just called “Shelby”. I’ve been driving since 2020, and I do understand all the trials and tribulations that are entailed with truck driving. I appreciate you and your videos. Thank you!❤
As an injured longhaul OTR driver, your videos have always brought me hope. My biggest hurdle right now is my mental health but as you said, we are all in it together. The attitude of gratitude has gotten me this far in my recovery. I'll be back to all the places you were in this video. I miss it so much. Safe travels to you and Dakota and your support team. (I honestly hoped you would make a vid about mental health- I would like to contribute one day if we ever cross paths).
I wish you the best. Thank you for dropping into the comments 💛
Same here! I'm an injured long haul driver, i was injured 2 years ago. My doctor informed me about 5 months ago that i won't be able to return to the job i was doing. I drove OTR for 32+ years!
❤ ( U. SHOULD. GET. A. PROHEATER. INSTALLED. ON. TRUCK. -- SO. U. DONT. HAVE. TO. IDLE. [ FOR. INTERNAL. HEAT. IN. CAB. ) !!! ❤ .
I always tell people trucking is bitter sweet and like a abusive relationship
I as a driver experienced isolation and loneliness. Trucking for me was a job I loved. Here today gone tomorrow. Yup it was stressful at times and there were times I would freak out. Even today at 71 I want to go back out. There is a very big truth in you can take the driver out of the truck but you can’t take the truck out of the driver. Once you get diesel in your vains, it keeps calling you, as it does that to me all the time. Trucking is tuff on drivers, it spits them out regularly. You my dear I have always loved your videos. Your special in my eyes. Maybe run with someone you like. But please keep getting help.
Get help with the things that are dragging you down
I can see it in your eyes and your facial expressions . I was much the same so I recognize it in others. If you need to talk reach out. I am here for a fellow driver. Thank you for posting. Have a great and a safe day. Happy trails to you. D..
I am a former semi driver myself. I am going to try and drive a dump truck, but I am not sure if I can. I’m in menopause, and I never fully wake up. I start orientation on March 12 th. I will try not sure what my future holds? And I was dumped by a guy friend last Friday just a very heartless man.
Good luck with your driving. I’ve been in your shoes with my late in heaven Richard. We drove team all 48 states.
GOOD. LUCK. TO. U. MAM. , FELLOW. DRIVER. ❤❤❤! .
You are a Beautiful Lady,You are a Awesome Lady Trucker,,Love Your Smile,Please Keep Smiling
I can only admire Shelby's courage to talk about it so openly. I know it's more common in the States than in many other countries, but it's still very admirable.
Mental health for drivers is huge. You helped me realize that stopping and "smelling the roses" is something we all should do. Also, the benefits of a "traveling companion," especially a dog could help all drivers with safety and companionship could help sole the problems associated with mental health and the over population of dogs in the shelter situations. Thank you for your openness and sharing this crucial part of trucking.
On the dog comment, I say companies that don't allow pets, don't care about their drivers, plain and simple. You wanna charge a deposit to drivers due to cleanup and damage risks sure. But to outright not allow pets is a red flag for me in a company who have no clue what being on the road is really like and run by desk jockeys who have never been over the road. I have a dog and am thankful to be with a company who is very supportive of pets and actually encourages drivers to get them as they know how much our pets keep us sane.
Good to see you again, Happy. I was just watching a sad video from Big Rig Becca....her company decided flatbedding wasn't their bag and shut it down leaving her wondering what to do next. I recommended team driving with a friend and actually having time to stop sometimes and have fun.
I forgot to say I'm glad to see Dakota happy and healthy....I was afraid something really bad happened when you said she got hurt and then you kind of disappeared.
For anyone thinking they want to "see the country!" in a truck....it's not like what they say in the brochures;....most of the time trucking is like riding a seesaw by yourself.
I completely agree with that last statement 😅
Carry a creeper or a large canvas and get Coyta a dog ramp . German Shepherds developed hip dysplasia . You will be Fine . Drive a long hood Peterbilt will also make to feel better !
You are awesome. You appear to handle the unhook like a professional. It didn’t look dorky at all.
Not possible for Shelby to ever look dorky. You are one impressive person !
lol I beg to differ. But to each their own, thank you ☺️
Dorky is the new Gorgeous.
Good to see you back, Shelby. You’re a good trucker and a wonderful human being. You can never be too nice! Mental Health therapy is good for anyone and we should get rid of the stigma. Anyway, take care, kiddo! Be safe! 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thanks for sharing, Shelby. You’re helping people you’ll never meet or know. 🎉
Hey Shelby, those air tanks are under pressure. If it corroded through it's at risk for rapid decompression. That thing could go off like a bomb. You definitely don't want to be laying under it, and you surely don't want to be putting pressure on it. It'd be popping a tire bubble, but the tire is metal.
You got a new camera person. Yay!! Lucky person. 🙂 Hope you and Dakota are doing good. You look Great. Welcome back. We missed you. ❤ Keep on keeping on. 🕺
Hello Shelby
I very rarely add any comments, but thank you for sharing this video with your Truth. Mental and physical health are so closely related and when people understand that both are valuable and both need attention, the world will be a better place. I am very glad you are better and back on RUclips. If you and Dakota need a peaceful place to rest & experience healing in Colorado mountains near Black Hawk, let me know. I have unspoiled acreage adjoining National Forest. I keep it wild and help people experience Mindfulness in the Wild Forest there. Sending you positive, healing energy!
Thanks for being a voice. You're extremely brave for sharing your story and speaking for people. I commend you. You got this.
I appreciate this. Thank you
I'm so glad your back and feeling at peace now. Thank you so much for sharing your love/hate journey with us . Know that you are very appreciated by this rookie trucker :)..... "love/hate" is the perfect way to describe this profession. Be safe out there.
Keep at it. Don’t let the industry take you down. But at the same time listen to your heart and body. Go where it calls you 🥰 Thank you for this comment
Nice to see you and to see you smiling too Shelby, had wondered if you were ok. You and Dakota have been missed. Wishing the best of everything for you.
The camera angles, the views, the editing, music choice... Amazing!! You are clearly an inspiration for many people in the trade and just regular folks like me. Your aura, the look in your eyes, your honesty, and just being real in front of the camera. The whole thing put together is truly therapeutic. DON'T stop making these videos. I kinda hope someday I could run into you and thank you in person for what you do and maybe we could share in the consumption of adult beverages...😇
Good to see you Shelby!
After 17 years of driving, I went on my own mental health Journey last 3 years trying different work and facing my fears as to what kept me in that lifestyle. It's a very thankless high demanding job, for anyone thinking of getting out just do it, not sure I will ever return, stay blessed Shelby time is the most valuable thing we have do what you love most. Thanks for being a positive influence in an industry that made me the worst version of myself. Love from Robert ❤
You're an inspiration and I'm sorry to hear you've struggled Shelby. Thank you for being brave and willing to share this. Wishing you nothing but the best whatever you decide to pursue.
Thank you for your transparency, your honesty, your openess, and your humility. You are a bright and very brave person. Thank you for the message and for this video!
I’m not a trucker but a warehouse worker. I always love your take on trucking! Thanks for the video and stay safe out there!
I do not know why when I see you Shelby and Dakota, I feel happy. I hope you always be happy and be safe
You are in a word, adorable. Your character really shines and I appreciate your openness and willingness to share your highs and lows.
While I’m not a trucker, I think all of us can relate that our lives sometimes feel like we are in a lonely cab, while we attempt to navigate through all the pitfalls we encounter on our journey.
You are an inspiration and the world is a far better place with you in it.
Much love to you ❤
Missed ya a bunch. You've helped my wife and I transition into the industry and take our place, to running our own rig. Thank you for your vulnerability, expertise, and heart.
I’m so glad you’re back but, most importantly, I’m glad you’re feeling better. You have a big heart Shelby. My favorite video was when you made cookies for your fellow truckers. Really warmed my heart. I hope you’ll make more videos for us. Never forget to stop and smell the flowers.❤😊
_Many truck drivers from eastern Europe at USA also retired from this job cause of salary. But now they has no job and no money_
So sorry you are going through this. I am glad you have found some help. I missed seeing your videos. Happy you are back looking forward for more videos.
I appreciate you. Thank you for your support
Been Following you for Years !!!
We met on Hwy 395 years ago and you introduced me to your channel when you started. That was somewhere in Ridgecrest or Lone Pine, CA
I have been driving for 15 years now.
Since I was 18, I am 33 now lol
So glad u got the help, and I can see that ur very happy now, dont ever give up, ur so worth it
Thank you for your insight 🙏 welcome back and hope all is well and only getting better god bless
I'm not a trucker, I do live with mental health struggles. We get stuck inside ourselves, believing others couldn't understand. Turns out we're not alone. Thank you for sharing parts of your life with us. One day, one mile at a time 💙
I hear you!! I've been driving 15 years, and ya, mental health is tough even suicide ideations come up sometimes and I have to tell myself to snap out of it!!
So Happy Dakota is in the photo! was worried! Hope all is Well, will try to catch the final stream!
Hey, you have really done so many people a service by this video and all the rest of your videos. I am not a trucker, just a retired person who loves to be behind the wheel of my camper van.I have always respected truckers but now that respect is at a much higher level. I salute you guys!
BTW- I just got a dog (companion, copilot and protector) and I am stoked because she will allow me to go farther down the road safely, I hope to see you out there in the desert someday picking up old stuff! Cheers!! Stay safe.
GREAT TO SEE YOU BACK ON-LINE Shelby .
I left the industry after 5 years. I started at 21. Wanted to drive trucks since I was 18. But had to wait until I was 21. After 5 years the loneliness got to me. I got tired of seeing families out & I’m over here by myself surrounded by strangers. The money slow down. I was like I had it. Now I’m a cop… in the best shape ever… go to church every Sunday. Have a girlfriend & a friend. This weekend we have a picnic planned in the park with the city in the background. I’m happier than ever. When I was young trucking was cool. Because I got paid to see places most people never will. But long term you’re wasting your life away. Best of luck guys in your life. Find your happiness.
Dear Shelby
Welcome back. Noone is more happy to see you & Dakoda again. Much thanks to your camera help as well. I hope others back me up on my assessment that the work you are doing is the biggest factor of your stress level. My wife and i traveled all 48 with our GSD's Monk & Dayzee for 6 years. Please let me share career notes with you and your team via email or chat or whatever works best for you. Your content brightens my day and certainly many others as well. We care about you very much. Just give us a listen. Yours truly, Bill & Lisa, GSD Logistic SW MS
Something a lot of drivers don’t do , I always leave the landing gear up 3 to 4 inches and dump my air bags while pulling out from it , it takes the tension off the landing gear easier for cranking it back up
I love your channel and I’m so glad to see a new video. Stay blessed and keep on trucking.
I drove for Swift for 2 years and now I’m in the office as a dispatcher taking care of forty-something drivers. Your video is motivation to me to continue pushing myself to do what I can to provide even better care for each of the drivers I have, thank you for that!
Great to see you're back. We all have our struggles. But you're definitely right. Trucking is a love/hate relationship. The general public has no idea how stressful this job is. I'm glad to hear that you're getting some therapy. I know from experience that it helps a lot. Be it mentally or physically. Stay safe out there and will be looking forward to your next video.
🌹💖Love You Shelby💖🌹 My family and me Wish You the Very Best in Life 🍀💝 your doggie also 💕. You are a brave and beautiful young lady. I used to be a lady truck driver about 30 years ago. Yes it is Alot of hard work. 🤗😕🥺😃Happy New Year 2024🎉 from Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA 🇺🇲🎼☮️🌻🙏🌸🏵️🌼💐
Shelby, I am at the wee beginning of my trucking career (school). I aspire to provide for myself financially as a single lady and be a positive force in the world like you - thank you for your vulnerability and inspiration 💛 Love from SLC
Thank you for sharing! I feel you 💯… just recently I had to literally walk out on my driving job because it was definitely toxic, I loved my job, but the office didn’t care about us one bit, just a couple months ago my wife and I bought a country house in the woods with land and on top of that, trying to remodel, take care of my wife and daughter I still had to work these long days. Just a couple weeks ago I had to pull off the road and catch an ambulance ride to the hospital, at first I thought it was a heart attack but turns out it was stress and anxiety and it caused my heart to go into an off rhythm which dropped my blood pressure extremely low and I almost completely blacked out behind the wheel… not 1 single person from my office even bothered to ask if I was ok, all they wanted to know was when I’d be back to work but then started cutting my hours and routes down to almost nothing, I finally threw in the towel and walked out! The last couple weeks out of work and I can feel my stress finally lifting and I’m ready to get back to it but with another company! I’m glad you’re back and again thanks for sharing your story!!!!
It is wonderful to see you and Dakota back! Thank you for sharing your journey, both your trucking journey as well as your mental and spiritual health journey, with us. Your openness, candor, and honesty are deeply appreciated. Thank you for just being you and not just striving for viewership. Truckers and Mariners are people we don't know, all doing jobs we don't ever think about, but without them civilized life for the rest of us would not be possible. I wish you well on your journey of recovery and discovery. You have been missed by many people around the world, including me.
I’ve been a driver for almost a year now. I hate telling people this these days, but before I became a driver I was a Sheriff’s Deputy for 18 years. I had to medically retire due to an accident when I was hit by a drunk driver.
But the last 5 years that I was a Deputy, I was the Mental Health Officer for the county that I worked in. It takes a lot of courage to ask for help. Thankfully the world is becoming more and more aware of the importance of Mental Health!!
From my experience as a Mental Health Officer, I know this video will help some people get the help they need!! I commend you for making this video!! I’m hoping one day soon, I will be able to combine my old profession with my new one, and start something for truckers Mental Health!! It’s so very important!! Stay safe out there drivers!!
Glad we get one more video.
I understand the love/hate relationship with trucking. Irregular schedule, Trying to sleep in a noisy truck stop/rest area, Having to put up with ever changing rules, Companies that don't pay what they say, Weather, bad drivers, bad roads, no good place to eat or go to the restroom.
I loved seeing the country and I liked working by myself. The pay was ok. It was more than "regular" job would pay.
Shelby I truly just adore you. Your personality is amazing, your energy is vibrant. You have some serious dedication. Never give up, the good things never come easy. No matter what you do, just be thankful you are alive and keep pushing threw to the next day. Happiness doesn't find you, you gotta find it. But I beleive you'll do just fine in your journey of life no matter what is thrown at you. Keep fighting and keep on keeping on and you'll be just fine. ❤
Thank you so much. That was really sweet of you.
Welcome back Shelby!! Mental health is no joke. Thank you for sharing your story. You inspire me and others. Hi Dakota!!! Take care and stay safe. You are a strong lady!! You got this!!😊
I did 42 years in the seat of a big truck till retiring. Started in heavy wreckers, went O.T.R. for 18 years But retired as a Mich. gravel train/ concete mixer driver. Try to find the type of trucking that works for you. You don’t have to stay out 6 weeks at a crack like we did.
Good things come to those (of us) who wait.
Welcome back Shel, u’ve been missed.
Im done with trucing 100% for now.. Working local now, not even in a truck. I have been doing REPO style towing cars..
Thank you! Feel this, mental health is real and we all need to be kind to yourself and others. Love this, great work Shelby and co ✨
Happy Easter. Love ya.❤
So good to see a new video and catch up with you, you have been missed. I also want to say you did an excellent job on the camera work on this video. Great scenery shots. Take care and all the best to you.
I had home drama as a long haul driver. Lost my wife and kids. Second wife was all drama and never home. Ended up losing my mind and spent 6 months in the mental ward then a yr homeless. Made some mistakes and now 14 yrs later im single and no plans of dating. Im getting my cdl back and getting a pardon for the wrong i did. This time staying single so no drama at home. Well wont even have a home cause im gonna live in my truck. No stress cause im alone and livin free and single on the open road.
Sorry to hear that. That sounded like quite the ordeal. I hope you find your peace... I just wanted to let you know to reach out to Jesus. He's there just waiting. I hope you reach out to him and ask him for help... If you embrace him, he will embrace you. God bless you, and good luck to you on the road! May the traffic be always light, may the sun be always bright, and the DOT stay out of sight! 😂😂😂. Lol. Just realized that rhymes. Take care!
Shelby, we subscribers missed you indeed!! Glad to see that you've gotten some help and are back making videos.
I'm out of trucking - not because of the lifestyle, stress or strain but because of the lousy pay. I just got tired of being gone so much, and not having a whole lot of money to show for it. I regret that I never got to meet you and Dakota out on the highway. Is BKM still doing your videos for you?
Good luck, best wishes, and keep smiling!!!(and making videos 👍👍)
YES, we have missed you. Glad to see again, please always take great care. I hope you do find the answers you are looking for, but just never isolate yourself.
Appreciate what you do driving on the road all the time. Hope you feel better soon and thank you and all the truckers out there keeping America going. With all respect let keeps truckers safe.
Welcome back, I have missed your videos. Thanks for sharing your journey, I was driving a flatbed to Milwaukee and a stroke on July 5 2023 I’ve trying to get back to work since. So I understand to struggle.
Congrats on making your way back to work. I hope you make it through any medical hurdles you have ahead of you.
Best trucking channel on the Tube. Keep on trucking -
Welcome back Shelby. Keep up the good fight. We look forward to seeing you feeling better. And a big thank you to Taylor for conveying your message so beautifully!
Totally agree with getting out of the cab and enjoying the outside. Towards the end of my time OTR, it started feeling like a prison. Especially as a solo company driver. I never felt really at peace with being OTR, except on those long distance loads with plenty of chances to stop and get out.
Favorite spot I've ever stayed at is off of I-70 East just outside of Grand Junction, CO. Most peaceful night of sleep I've ever had. Then waking up to fresh bear scat outside the truck with paw prints in the dust near the sleeper window was a nice shocker to wake up to then having a trasmission computer failure with no cell reception wasn't fun. But that night was still great.
So so great to see you back. I truly missed your cheerful personality and commitment to the trucking industry. I know you will continue on with an updated and manageable life style and continue to have 'Happiness by the mile'. Lot of love and respect from Australia!
Other Drivers always told me trucking is the job "you love to hate." Good luck with the new adventure and thanks for making this video. My motto is keep on truckin.
This video was so beautifully put together. Welcome back!
Hello from Bullhead City, AZ.
Welcome back! I have been there and taking that first step to get help was the most difficult. Still finding my way back. You are not alone and you will make it back stronger than ever before! God bless!
This is true. Truking is a lifestyle. 👍🦁
I'm glad to see you back on RUclips. Keep pushing on, girl. I love the music always 💯
Consider the advantages of keeping an expensive yoga mat on the truck for times when you need to crawl under the truck or trailers.
So glad to hear from you. We’re pulling for you. Take care of yourself. It’s the one time we can be rightfully selfish. God bless 🙏🏿
I'm with you.
Been trough a depression, the time my family ended (and Holly from Buddy&Holly died). Trucking, travelling all Europe on tight schedules (motorsport logistics) and Buddy (oes, 12 years old soon) have been my connection to the world.
Now I'm still in the business, out of the cockpit, but back on the ground.
The dark moments come back from time to time.
But theres always a solution.
And if I need to free my mind, I pack Buddy in the boot and start over to the sea. Three hours trip, but it calms my soul.
Thx for sharing, as always, take care!
we love you shelby hugs xx you helped methrough a tough time xx
Your getting help for mental health is good to be honest , I was a team driver with my late wife. I left OTR in 2016 when she got sick and passed away. I haven't been over the road since ( only local) I left my company I was wirh when they hired me baxk in 2016 after being OTR / Regional 6 month before she passed .... I'm sure I have a new job next week 18sp peter. Walking floor. But first time in a sleeper since the wife ... she was my rock .. my helper my co driver. But yeah. The first year in a truxk after ahe passed was really hard. I still struggle. But tour story touched me. Don't be ashamed of your feelings. The road can get lonely alot if times. A pet is good but a pet really don't talk baxk. All your people are here for you. I'm 60. Been doing it a long time. The road will tear you up and some it's even killed. Just be careful out there blondie. And until you said your age. I tiliok you for mid 20s. Reach out you ever need to talk from a fellow truckers point of view ❤🎉
On a foot note. 5/21/2024. ( today ) my wife would havr turned 57. She passed one month into her 49th God bless you and be SAFE. All drivers 🎉❤
Good to see you and Dakota in a new vlog! Best wishes always as you journey thru work and life. We all come up against rough decisions due to changes in life. Some things we have control over and some things we don't. Please stay positive and do what's best for you along the way.
My dad was a long haul trucker in the 70’s and 80’s. He suffered with mental health issues really bad and didn’t get help, mostly because it was a taboo topic. Thanks for being transparent as you could to help others, that’s very kind of you to touch a sensitive topic.
Always wonderful to see you again Shelby. I'll come on to your YT channel and FB page every so often to see if you've posted. I'm glad that you are putting time and attention into your personal wellbeing and mental health, especially with the challenges you have mentioned you have been facing the last few years. Loved the Southwest scenery, drone, and gopro shots, as usual with your videos - they're awesome! - and seeing Dakota again too. She's a wonderful companion. Take care and stay safe and well. ❤🛣❤
THATS A GOOD SAFE WAY YOU HOOK UP TRAILERS. LANDING GEAR INSIDE IS KIND OF LIKE A CORK SCREW.
Thanks for this! You are an inspiration to us all, also thank you for the shots of my home state, Vail, Glenwood Canyon, Grand Junction....Funny you were also in Kingman. I currently live near there in Bullhead City, AZ. Keep on truckin'! :)
I continue to be in awe and wonder at your strength, courage, and insight at such a young age. I hope that your life continues to get better and better as the days, weeks, months, and years pass. Not every one of them will feel or be letter, but I strongly suspect they will.
Thanks to you, your cinematographer, drone pilot, and editor for beautiful and inspiring work.
