What a beast!! I only have a couple knives in 3V and no complaints. I'd love to try one of yours out for sure. My Warcraft tanto is mean. I have a Smock SK23 flipper 3" lol in 3V, it's the toughest little 3" blade I've used. Thanks for the video but it's hard to watch!
at what HRC is this at? I ask because I have a custom camp knife in CPM-3v @HRC 60 with cryo treatment (5.2mm spine, full flat grind) and I am interesting in the durability of the knife. I am confident it is tough, I just don't know how tough.
onesilentarrow Ive owned both Carothers Performance Knives as well as Busse Knives with Infi steel and abused both of them under similar circumstances. Although Infi is very tough and has a well deserved reputation I know from experience that the Carothers with the Delta 3V is in fact a superior knife not only in toughness but also in edge retention. Carothers Performance Knives are in my opinion the best knives on this planet, PERIOD.
Death By Astonishment Bark River has had big problems with misrepresentation of the steel used in some of their knives. Meaning that knives have been sent out as 3V when in fact it was not, research this and you’ll find it to be true. Also their fit and finish is no where near the quality of a Carothers or Busse. Referring to Bark River as garbage may in fact be harsh but they try to play with the “big boys” of hard use knives and fall a little short of the mark. Spend just a little more money and upgrade to a Carothers or Busse and you’ve got a blade of the finest quality and toughness on this Earth. Just my opinion anyway but I’ve owned and used them all so I’m speaking from experience.
Seeing as it's highly unlikely that I'll ever be able to own one of these do you think there are any other 3V blades out there that have a similar level of toughness to yours? I've been looking at Survive Knives GSO series recently which also come in 3V and supposedly have an outstanding heat-treat, so what I'm asking is; do you think that one of those blades would offer a similar level of near-indestructibility to these knives or is there some additional mystical property added to your production method that makes these significantly tougher than anything else on the market?
+Bullpup92 There are no mystical properties added at my shop, however there has been a significant amount of research and development to fully optimize an entire heat treat process and Survive Knives helped sponsor that development and can use this heat treat as well as Dan Keffeler. So there are two other shops in addition to mine where you will be able to get this same heat treat. I expect that many, if not all, Survive knives will incorporate these refinements in future work. As it is, they are running their version of my previous generation protocol which incorporates many of these same tweaks and is a very good performer.
NateAIM Oh excellent, thank you so much for the reply. Very interesting to learn how such information and techniques are passed around in the manufacturing community. I'm right about to order one of their knives soon so it's good to know that I can expect similar performance. Thanks again, love your videos by the way, one of my favourite things to do is show them to non-knife people who assume that all knives will break in half if chopped through anything stronger than rope, really blows their minds.
3V or Elmax?
I‘ve never seen anyone feathersticks a bloody piece of metal 🤣 so cool
AWESOME!!! Can't wait to get one of these!!

How did you put that blood groove in there? I like it. Nice looking knife!
My favorite blades!
Are you offering any of your designs for sale to the public? I will place an order, if possible.
So I guess the bigass bone chopper cleaver I did in 3v with a .045 thick edge was way too thick.
hello. could you please tell me if you also sell the knives and how much does it cost? thank you in advance

3v or D2
Wow
How i request it?
3V that thick will not break. If it does you've really fucked up. It's like a crowbar.
It’ll still cut as he rips through the cardboard haha
Damn
Looks like a grizzly from bark river
Dyan Terhaar The main difference is that this knife isn’t garbage and the Bark River very much is.
rcnut812 What is the problem with the bark river? Garbage is a big call
