TIP (not for Moo, for you, the reader): when shading, don’t use a darker shade of the base one. use a similar colour, or just experiment and use what goes well. and, if your shadows/dark areas are warm colours (red, yellow, orange, pink, and anywhere in between that) then make the light/highlights cold colours. (blue, green, purple, etc, etc) and vice-versa. it really makes your art stand out more! ^^
