Shocked, but in a good way: He had SO MANY PETS! And they were all greatly taken care of, too. Dogs, cats, bunnies, reptiles, fish, the whole lot. His house is cool.
I've got 18 pets in total. All well taken care of. 10 cats, 1 dog, 1 ferret, 1 toad, 2 parakeets, 2 fish and a snail. They are all healthy and haven't had any health problems since we lost one cat to Anemia 3 years ago. And they all get along. Well the ferret, cats and dog do. The fish+snail and toad live in their tanks in a room the cats and dog can't get to and where the ferrets cage is for his bed time and the birds live in another room that the cats and dog can't get into. As long as you know what you're doing and know how to properly take care of your pets and physically can you're fine. Just don't overwhelm yourself.

My family as from my Mum’s side(from Serbia) always make plenty of food, so ppl don’t have to leave the table hungry!!! Everything between every day meal times to parties/celebrations, food is cooked in big batches in order to accommodate the guests, to eat to their hearts content... much like in the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”...

In primary school I was invited to a girl's birthday party. I brought her a gift (can't remember what) plus a bag of my favourite sweets. Personally, about the orange thing, I’d probably be like “Oh alright, I mean I got room on my plate for something new 💁♂️” and at least given it a try. Maybe the peels are special and they taste better freshly grown than store bought, who the heck knows 🤷♂️

Living in Southeast Asia, I can confirm that the parents' declining dinner, is too true. Here, you will often get invited to eat, when in fact, 9 times out of 10, the inviting people do not actually have what they are offering, to give you. You ALWAYS decline, or else everyone, including you, will be embarrassed, if you were to accept. Everyone automatically offers, and you need to automatically decline. I don't know why they bother, but, living in Rome, you have to do as the Romans do. This just happened to be the 1 time out of 10. Usually what you have to do is show the guest all the food, assure them that there's plenty, and then they will accept.
In Sweden it's super common to have milk with any meal. I don't because I grew up deadly allergic to milk protein, but can now drink it but I don't like the taste because I never got used to it. But a friend of mine can drink a litre a day. That orange family seemed super weird, I've never heard of anyone eating oranges with the skin on. But maybe they grew a special kind of orange with thinner skin? 🤔
That happened to me. When I was little a girl had me over and we were playing in the basement when her parents called for dinner. We went up and they sat and ate while the mum led me to the basement stairs and gave me two biscuits to eat as I waited for them to finish.
I was at a meeting my church was doing one time and my crush's mom was there. (I've been friends with this guy for a few months and we both like each other.) His mom literally said I should just text her son anytime and tell him I coming over! She said she'd host and everything!! There's a part of me that wants to take her up on the offer but idk lol 🤣 After hearing some of these stories, I'm kinda scared I'll do something wrong! 😂 P.S. Happy birthday!! 🎉
(Background Context: I am a massive germaphobe and I love to be clean) I was in third grade and I met a new friend. We planned to have a sleepover at her house one weekend. Everything was going good until we decided that her dad was going to show us how to cook chicken nuggets that were supposed to be JUST LIKE Chick-Fil-A’s. Her dad was getting everything ready and I said “Ok, let’s go wash our hands” my friend said “Oh, no we don’t do that here…” I was soooooo confused because HER DAD WAS AN ACTUAL CHEF!! So girl WHY are you not washing your hands before you cook and touch Everyone’s food!??!??
You would actually be surprised how many professional chefs and cooks are incredibly hygienic at work and then it’s a germ free-for-all at home. (At least in the kitchen.) Even when guests are around. I guess it’s because they don’t have to worry about getting fined or fired at home so they can chill a bit more. Even I’m guilty of double dipping batter checks when it’s just me and my wife around, but I can’t even imagine not washing my hands and cooking.
So, The first one. Here in Sweden it is common for parents to let their kids friends eat over but some parents (that I personally think are rude af) do that instead, If they “didn’t cook for you” you get like an apple for dinner or you just get to wait in the room for like 30 mins while they’re eating
What? I'll be honest, I'm Swedish and I've never heard about the "friends can't eat with the family"- thing... We always ate at our friends' houses and vice versa. The only reason we wouldn't eat at our friends' houses was because we already planned to eat when we got home. Everybody I know always prepare LOTS of food (and fika... I saw some comments about this) when they're having guests over, we always get leftovers! And my parents always made sure our friends ate with us if they didn't have any other plans... so that was a bit weird for me to read honestly.
I know people who drink milk with dinner, I think it comes from the milk promotion back in the day, it was promoted as being very healthy and nutritious.
I know people that eat the orange peel (or the white part of the peel). Some of them grew up during the Great Depression and don't want to waste food. Others just eat it like that because it's edible. I've always seen it as unique rather than weird.
My eldest son was invited to a friend's house for tea when they were 3-4 years old. He was there straight from school until I picked him up at 7pm. By the time we got home it was his bedtime. He cried all the way to his room. I asked him what was wrong and he said he was hungry. They had given him nothing to eat or drink in all that time.
Ahh the first one brings back memories, I've only ever slept over at two friends' houses (One quite a few times during when I was younger and one once and never again when I was a bit older) and the first friends house I'd sleep over at would never let me eat in their house and I wasn't allowed to touch things without the parent's or friend's permission, I was expected to sit in the living room while they ate in the dining room and I did it because I just thought it was normal and didn't want to be rude. I know that wasn't normal now though not because I slept at more people's houses but despite knowing it isn't normal, I now have a bad habit of refusing to eat outside of what I'm "allowed" (Food that I bring or pay with my own money but I have anxiety so opt out of paying for stuff myself anyway) and I refuse to go near anything that I haven't been explicitly told I could go near.
The Hong Kong friend story is actually a culture problem. In Chinese culture, unless we have close relationship, we don't take other people's offer/gifts unless the person insists or have a good reason. And it has to be a hard insist. Like the type where the person have to give clear signs of 'if you don't accept the offer, we will be mad' kind of vibe insist. If you don't give out that kind of attitude, we would deny till the end of the day. We won't accept even if it's the third time offer. I saw my mom did the same thing with her client and also saw other adults do this too. Honestly, just watching it makes me feel tired and annoying, I love my Chinese culture, but this is one of the social cultures that I hate it so much.
I remember a few months ago I went to my best friend's house for a couple nights and the first night after I took a shower the tips of my hair got a little wet and when my friend saw that she asked me if I want to blow dry it. I said no. I don't like blow-drying my hair because I feel like it can get dry over time and especially that time it was totally unnecessary since it was only the very tips of my hair and I knew it would dry by itself quite fast. When I told my friend that I didn't want to blow dry my hair she said that it might be dangerous because I might get bad headaches from that in the future. I found that kinda weird but just told her it was fine and we headed( no pun intended) to bed. The next night when I took a shower the same thing happened only that when we got out of the bathroom ready to go to sleep her father saw my "wet" hair and asked my friend when she didn't show me where the hairdryer was. I told him that she did but I just didn't want to blow dry it. He told me that I should do it because when he was a little boy he also didn't want to blow dry his hair after it was wet and now he has bad headaches because of it. I told him it's only the tips of my hair and it's nit that wet, but he says it doesn't matter and told me I have to blow dry it. I ended up going back to the bathroom and blow drying my hair. I really didn't get how you can get a headache just because your hair tips are wet:/ ( Also they never eat eggs for breakfast only for supper. I know it's common in some places but I just found that weird lol.)
I eat my orange peels but I cut and peel my oranges to eat the peels alone, either before or after eating the flesh of the orange, and I don’t eat the orange like an apple. I have some chronic health issues and I need all the whole cortex vitamin C I can get! I eat lemon and clementine peels, too, but never grapefruit or lime peels because they’re too strong for me. If I have a sore throat, I’ll eat the citrus peels with cinnamon and raw honey. It helps. (I only eat organic produce; I’d never advise eating the peel of a conventional orange.) I’m American and was quite happily introduced to Vegemite on buttered bread when I was 14, at a friend’s house. I always keep it in my pantry now. My favorite way to use it is in stews for depth of flavor since I don’t typically keep wine in the house.
once me and my friend went out then went back to hers and i waited outside for my mum to pick me up while my friend went inside to eat dinner. then it started raining so i was like can i just come in and sit on ur sofa or something yk i don’t think my mums coming soon and she was like no it will be really awkward with my family eating dinner ur just gonna have to wait outside so i sat on the pavement in the rain for a solid 20 minutes and this woman walked past me and asked if i was ok because i looked like i had just been abandoned 😭 finally her mum let me come in but like two mins later my mum came to pick me up. also she left me at the tram stop when it was pitch black because she wanted to go home and wouldn’t wait five mins with me so my mum could pick us both up and bare in mind that i have awful anxiety and no phone at the time since mine had just broke so i just waited there on my own for ages, lucky i didn’t get kidnapped tbh.

I don't know why they bother, but, living in Rome, you have to do as the Romans do. This just happened to be the 1 time out of 10. Usually what you have to do is show the guest all the food, assure them that there's plenty, and then they will accept.
I only bit the orange before to create a hole where I can then peel it whenever I'm having a hard time peeling it. Ooh, but I don't like it.
Happy birthday Ellen!!! Thank you for so many good times!!
P.S. Happy birthday!! 🎉
You should totally go. since you both like each other i think it would be a grt opportunity.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYUTIE!!

I love you and your videos!! I know I say it a lot but keep up the amazing work and amazing content!!
The no snacks house could be the result of someone having an eating disorder, it's weird but you get used to it
Yeah but not making a kid pay for an entire family to eat. That's pretty disgusting.
When they talk back to their parents. Where I come from (NJ) that is so disrespectful that it's shocking.
happy belated birthday ellen!! we all love u and hope you had an amazing b-day! ♡
So, The first one.
Here in Sweden it is common for parents to let their kids friends eat over but some parents (that I personally think are rude af) do that instead,
If they “didn’t cook for you” you get like an apple for dinner or you just get to wait in the room for like 30 mins while they’re eating
I wonder if the friend sneaked the OP in the house and didn't want his parents to know that OP was even there
3:40 my bestie does the same and at lunch our friend group just stares at her like 👁 👄 👁
Happy birthday kyutie I love your videos and just want you to that seeing your videos makes my day🥳🎉🎂

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLENNNNNN!!!!!!🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂
Hey Ellen!!!! Happy birthday!!! Enjoy, and have many more!!!!!!
Happy birthday girl!
1:57 Imagined if the family had planned ahead to prank that kid to see his reaction to them doing that.
That last one is just bizarre
i’m a day late 😭 happy birthday ellen
Happy birthday Ellen!!!! I’m sorry I can’t comment often cuz the time you post is like 4 am here TvT. Love you lots 💕
on the orange issue I peel..... and i used to be the mom that would feed other peoples kids no questions asked when they came to my house
Happy Birthday Ellen!!! I wish you a great day!
Happy birthday, Ellen!
Happy (belated) Birthday Ellen! 🎂🎉
I have never had a friends parent that charged me for a meal unless it was from a restaurant
Happy birthday!
I haven’t watched your channel in a while :’)
Happy Birthday Ellen 🎉🎉🎂💕
Happy birthday Kyutie 🎂🥳🎁
I used to have a friend who prayed before they ate, not that abnormal but strange to me at the time since I had never heard of that before
Happy bday kyutie!!
HAPPY BDAY ELLEN!!!!!
The Swedish hospitality thing is a meme on tumblr and it's hilarious
Hi! Wishing you a happy birthday Kyutie!!! From the Philippines 🇵🇭🥳💙
Happy Birthday Ellen 💜 You're too kyute 💞
I really didn't get how you can get a headache just because your hair tips are wet:/
( Also they never eat eggs for breakfast only for supper.
It helps. (I only eat organic produce; I’d never advise eating the peel of a conventional orange.)
I’m American and was quite happily introduced to Vegemite on buttered bread when I was 14, at a friend’s house. I always keep it in my pantry now. My favorite way to use it is in stews for depth of flavor since I don’t typically keep wine in the house.
Ok. LOVE.THE.HAIR. 😩👌✨
happy birthdayyy!! ❤❤
once me and my friend went out then went back to hers and i waited outside for my mum to pick me up while my friend went inside to eat dinner. then it started raining so i was like can i just come in and sit on ur sofa or something yk i don’t think my mums coming soon and she was like no it will be really awkward with my family eating dinner ur just gonna have to wait outside so i sat on the pavement in the rain for a solid 20 minutes and this woman walked past me and asked if i was ok because i looked like i had just been abandoned 😭 finally her mum let me come in but like two mins later my mum came to pick me up. also she left me at the tram stop when it was pitch black because she wanted to go home and wouldn’t wait five mins with me so my mum could pick us both up and bare in mind that i have awful anxiety and no phone at the time since mine had just broke so i just waited there on my own for ages, lucky i didn’t get kidnapped tbh.
Happy birthday Ellen!
Where'd you get those earrings from?
happy bday Ellen!!
Happy Birthday, sweet one. 🎉🧁
9:05 oh wow I always have milk with most of my meals since water is kinda tasteless and soda has sugar which I dislike 🤔 but not for religious reasons like them
Happy birthday!!!!🎉🎂🎁🎂
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WE LOVE YOU!
4:26 i think it's a tradition for them because most of the nutrients in an orange are in the peel.
Happy Birthday 🎈🎁🎉🎂!!!!!!!
8:56
As a Christian, I know for a fact that no where in the Bible it says to “only drink milk with dinner”
Okay, because I thought I was tripping. I was like "Where does it say that?!" I was looking in the comments for a fellow Christian
@@radioactive_baby Yep that didn’t sound right to me either. I’ve been a Christian for years and have read the Bible, and I don’t remember seeing that in there lol
happy birthday love!!!!
2:20 seems smart though but I don’t think I could do it lmao
7:05
Yea , we call it (taarof ), in iran .
It's a whole wormhole I won't get into
