    Thank you for this , I literally work at a feed store and get burlap sacks for free of alfalfa anytime I want and just started making my teas for my plants here in Cali! Thanks for the video!

    If you want good soil, use mulch. If you want a nice lawn, do not rake the leaves in the fall and throw them away: instead, mulch them with a lawn mower and let them decay. If your neighbors bag their leaves and put them out for trash pick up, put them in your garden or on your lawn and go over them with your lawn mower. If you want to spend money on these 'meals' it will be easier but it is best to use a spreader to get even distribution.

    Nicely explained 👍
    Only found your channel recently and I’m enjoying your uploads
    You have a good way of explaining information
    Handy stuff about indoors and outdoors with your mixing ratios
    Most channels I watch are firmly in one camp or the other
    I wondered if you’ve done a soil recipe already?
    I haven’t found one on your channel but I’m a bit of a donut
    Genuinely be interested to hear what you think would be a decent well rounded soil mix ... maybe 7-10 gallon...and when you should be looking to top dress etc given that some amendments take a while to become available for the plant and some may become pointless beyond a certain point in time
    Best 🌞🌞🌞

    Whenever you do the azomite video can you also compare to greensand and discuss humic acids?

      I absolutely will. Was actually just writing one on the difference between humic and fulvic acids

    Hello could you ad this to synthetic nutrients grow any help would be appreciated

    • @growingwiththebeard6915
      @growingwiththebeard6915  2 года назад +1

      You absolutely could. You can brew a tea, or top dress with them. One thing to note is alfalfa meal has a NPK rating on it which will increase the PPM in your soil. So you might want to cut back the amount of synthetic by 25% The kelp is hard to overdose but doesn't have much of a NPK so can easily mix that with your synthetic nutr

    Hello love your Videos lots of useful information getting ready to use gaia green organic dry amendments Do you need to PH when growing organic And also could you brew tea with Gaia green By the way I'm in the country i have well water ph is around 6.4 to 6.5 thanks any help would be appreciated

    • @growingwiththebeard6915
      @growingwiththebeard6915  2 года назад

      I've heard and read different thing about adjusting pH in organics. From my experience if I'm top dressing or amending the soils, pH isn't an issue. But if I'm using liquid organics or compost teas, I always have to adjust the pH. Most of the time the liquids have a pH of 3.5 - 4 to keep stable and not explode in the bottle. As for the Gaia Green I don't see any reason you couldn't brew a compost tea with it. I would check my PPM before feeding though just to make sure too much wasn't added

    I've been binge watching your videos on organic fertilizers. Amazing work.
    You've mentioned that alfalfa meal + kelp meal have a full spectrum of macro and micro nutrients... so it is possible to build a soil using only these amendments + some microbiology (worm castings maybe)?
    I've been thinking on minimalistic super soils and something simple like that would be interesting. Can you share your thoughts on this?

      Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
      I don't see any reason why you couldn't stick with these amendments and have a solid grow. Alfalfa is a vegan alternative to most of the other amendments. Alfalfa breaks down fairly fast so you might need an additional dose into flowering. Besides that maybe a sugar source to help feed the microbes in your soil.

    So a full cup of alfalfa meal for my 20 gallon pot of no till (indoor)? Keeripes...I've been top dressing with a 1/4 cup this whole time.
    Perhaps I should be adding a little more.

      @@growingwiththebeard6915 thank you for responding...been growing no till for a year now and I'm having a hard time getting good info on feeding rates for organics.
      Just one plant, one pot in a 2 1/2' square tent. I'm blown away by the overall health of my first 2 cycles. Getting a decent yield via scrogging.

    Many websites state Bone and Kelp meal take 4 months to break down. I am assuming some nutrients or minerals are available sooner and may be why it is hard to burn your plants with Kelp meal.

    Hello thanks for your response I should have been a little more clear on my question I'm going to be growing with Gaia green But was thinking maybe during the grow I would brew a tea with down-to-earth's product Would I have to ph the tea maybe a tea similar to what you do thanks

      @growingwiththebeard6915  2 года назад

      Oh I got you. Gaia Green is good stuff also DTE has some great products that you can make some great teas with. I still typically like to check my pH because I've seen it get low on me depending on what I use.

      It's tricky because many of the ways to raise or lower will not play nice with trying to brew up a bio-dome haha keep in mind nature doesn't adjust input pH lol it buffers within soil through varies ways so unless it's sky high or dead low prob best not to mess with it

      Really can be supplier dependent. Some have less. But for home grower the levels aren’t something to worry about. It’s mainly for the commercial rec or medical market growers to be concerned
