I like how they didn't change much from the initial to the final version, and the live action remake has its own quirks that make it stand apart from the original film quite nicely.
I see what u mean, I'm glad they used the scrapped original concept of triton and Ursula being siblings in this remake. Just goes to show you. When it comes to remaking classic stories, scrapped ideas can make a big change
I love how in the remake they used the scrapped original concept of Ursula and triton are siblings. This version of Ursula being part of ariels family makes her darker and more sinister, especially since she kills all the merfolk who made deals with her and fail.
She makes some polyps
What do you think those red things that tried to strangle ariel are ?
She even said
They didnt choose to live like that
@@DavidDickeee didn't u notice all the skeletons in her lair?
@@starfishman1018yes i did
But that still doesnt explain the red things that reside in ursulas passageway
And id like ti belive she kills people depending on the severity of deal payment
Like if they paid only half
They get turned into a polyp
If they dont pay at all
They die
@@DavidDickeee in the 2023 version she just straight kills the person like we saw her do with Triton… the polyps are their own whole species…
@@xoxogossypgurl i will still go with my idea
We never saw her kill anyone
Triton doesnt count as he never made full on deal with her
He straight up handed over the trident
Pat Carroll and Melissa McCarthy are awesome as Ursula!
She did?
@heroineprincessswiftie7824Mellissa McCarthy nailed it as Ursula!!! She looked unrecognizable and Pat Carroll would be proud.
I really love Ursula treatment in the 87 draft, makes her more misterious and sinister, if they continue with that idea, the first time she appear (guessing for PUS sequence) would be shocking.
Pat's snort while laughing is funny 😂😂 both actresses versions of ursula have stuff I like. Pat's ursula is more drama queen VS Melissa's ursula is darker more colder
The first version is damn so scary ! 00:53 Oooooh so that's the laugh they eventually used for the transformation scene !! I'm so excited to hear the "full version" of it, and with all her snorts x)
IKR? It's magnificent!
That is such a crazy full circle moment because ppl (me included) always thought the snort sound was the sound of Ursula's body morphing into Vanessa
@@giancarlojacobs9982 Based on these evolution videos, Pat enjoyed snorting far more than the actual character ended up doing.
@@giancarlojacobs9982 i thought that too !
3:54 princess
I love both of the versions I also love that in the remake she didn’t mention about her wasting away to practically nothing coz I felt confused in the animated one where she says that she’s starving but she’s plus size I like how they replaced that with Being Driven Halfway To Madness
Some people are born like that
But its also her eating shrimp
Thats confusing
Also she can change her shape
So shes not fat
Thats her original form
She does saying she’s wasting away in the remake though…
Ursula saying she's wasting away to practically nothing and practically starving was a joke that went over kids heads but the adults got. Seriously, how are you wasting away when you're fat? It's called irony.
Wow. Right out of the box that first one was amazing!
Love you Ariel live action❤️❤️💛💛💖💖💜💜❤❤😍😍
Ursula celebration soon enough boys
WOW I LOVE IT❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much for the credit
Ooh new evolution
Not going to lie but the ells in the first clip are scary 😧
I like they don't reveal her face in that one.
4:22 The reason Ursula was banished by King Triton, try to overthrown
I also expected Pat Carroll's Ursula give a taunting congratulations to Ariel...
"I must thank you for getting me this far, Ariel. Your services have been a great boon to me...! Atlantica and all the oceans... are FINALLY MINE!"
Ariel: "You MONSTER!"
Even though people make fun of her for complaining about “wasting away” when she’s so fat, it would feel awful to only have a few shrimp to eat at her size. No wonder she was so cranky!
She made me like seafood🤣

So Long Shrimp!!
Weren't there any Harold scenes substituting this scene?
Yes
Harold the mermaid
Was ursulas original introduction
But that never made it past the first phase
This is the evolution of her real introduction
The one we see in the movie
the one i uploaded substitutes the scene in the 1988 version
3:52 Ursula: [evilly] Yes, hurry home, princess. 3:56 [purrs evilly] We wouldn't want to miss old Daddy's celebration now, would we? 4:01 [grumped] Ha! Celebration indeed. 4:05 Ohh-ho, bah! In my day, we have fantastical feasts when I live to the palace. [chews a shrimp] 4:17 And now look at me. 4:19 [miserably] Wasted away to practically nothing. 4:22 [scowls] Banished and exiled and practically starving while he and his flimsy fish folk celebrate. 4:32 [plots an evil scheme] Well, I'll give 'em something to celebrate soon enough. 4:36 [SNARLING ANGRILY] Flotsam! Jetsam! 4:38 [BONK!] I want you to keep an extra close watch on this pretty little daughter of his. She maybe's the key to Triton's undoing.
Where & how did you get these old storyboards and audio?
In my day
5:13
Why was flotsam and jetsam soo horror
Ursula played victim way too much, which is what made her bitter and evil
Which is mystery on if she's really the victim because she never exsplains why Triton banished exiled her from his kingdom.
