I ve driven XUV 700 and VW virtus. I love virtus than XUV. Even driving comfort and stability is faaaaar better than XUV. Also one more thing to mention here that virtus was not driven by an expert driver. He was afraid to floor it. That I am sure about. Otherwise virtus can easily lead the round

Xuv won heart (I'm not a fan boy) Virtus is a good car no objections but when it comes to drag its has lag ( for safe gearbox) and it change the result. Even when it launch properly (most of the time it may not) still it beats xuv only after crossing 100kmph which makes the xuv practically a faster car . Personally I don't care if someone cross me after 100kmph
The driver is the owner of VW Virtus. He did not launch the DSG because if it is launched aggressively the gearbox will wear out faster. Long life of cars are more important than drag races. Virtus would've beaten the XUV if it was launched aggressively like in Round 3 and 4.
In 1st nd 2nd round Virtus owner didn't launched the car properly but when he did, the 3rd round got "Tied" nd in the final round Virtus won hands down

(2)They are equipped with quick shifting DSGs which are way faster, unlike the torque converter in XUV 7OO which isn't dynamic oriented, neither quick, is rather tuned for smooth shifts and to handle all that torque. (3) 2L mStallion TGDI Petrol engine from Mahindra is different from other petrol engines... Remember that Mahindra is a SUV maker, SUV needs lot of torque in the low end to get it out of tricky situations... They wanted to offer torquey engines even with Petrol... Other brands generally keep shorter strokes and taller bores in their gasolines due to which vehicle gets more power in higher revs (thus able to rev more and quicker) (which is also a standard of how gasolines are made) Mahindra took a bet and enlarged the stroke size and diminished the bores, with this their petrol SUVs were able to produce much more torque even at the low end... *This affected the RPM limit, so being a turbo engine it has to manage the power on its own*. That dsg gearbox doesn't let you build revs for a launch. Basically not suited for drag racing. Should compare manual vs manual and logically virtus shud win due to better power to weight ratio and significantly better aerodynamic design (lower drag)
Please check your RC, weight of XUV is not 2000kgs but around 1750 kgs which is almost 250kgs lesser than mentioned in your video. May kindly update in your future videos.

In a drag race xuv seems to be the winner. If virtus is crossing xuv after 150 kmph, the power is not usable. No one drives at 150kmph plus in real life. Also, if ones want to do a full race then take both cars to 200kmph and see who wins. May be Virtus will win by a big margin. Or may be Xuv can recover in 180-200kmph sprint.
@@Enchante_Oscuro that may be the intrinsic nature of the Virtus gearbox- its launch is not consistent and so is the drag performance. On Indian roads performance is usable only in 0-120kmph sprints where 700 shines because of high torque and bhp available at low rpms, and consistent launches that don't need the driver to be a pro. Also SUVs in general, with high centre of gravity and ground clearance are not really meant to be driven at super high speeds no matter how stable the car feels (barring may be high end SUVs like Urus). Sedans like Virtus will be more stable and maneuverable. So I don't think 700 is practically a competition to performance sedans at high speeds. I look at it as a fast SUV, that's all.
@@rahul4288 everything depends on the torque and bhp curve which in turn depends on bore-stroke ratio. virtus, i guess, has a better top end where xuv is more about the midrange. 200bhp in any other car would easily cross 220/230kph while xuv tops at 205-210. petrol xuv also upshifts at 5k rpm. the 1.5 tsi in Octavia (which is sold in europe) does 230kmph..

@@Enchante_Oscuro that may be the intrinsic nature of the Virtus gearbox- its launch is not consistent and so is the drag performance. On Indian roads performance is usable only in 0-120kmph sprints where 700 shines because of high torque and bhp available at low rpms, and consistent launches that don't need the driver to be a pro.
Also SUVs in general, with high centre of gravity and ground clearance are not really meant to be driven at super high speeds no matter how stable the car feels (barring may be high end SUVs like Urus). Sedans like Virtus will be more stable and maneuverable. So I don't think 700 is practically a competition to performance sedans at high speeds. I look at it as a fast SUV, that's all.
@@rahul4288 everything depends on the torque and bhp curve which in turn depends on bore-stroke ratio. virtus, i guess, has a better top end where xuv is more about the midrange. 200bhp in any other car would easily cross 220/230kph while xuv tops at 205-210. petrol xuv also upshifts at 5k rpm. the 1.5 tsi in Octavia (which is sold in europe) does 230kmph..
