  • Sky News Washington Correspondent Annelise Nielsen has assessed how Australia, the UK and the United States will benefit from the AUKUS agreement.
“We’re the oldest of allies - each with something to gain,” Ms Nielsen said.
Ms Nielsen said Australia is “ultimately the big winners in this”.
“We gain modern, advanced technology, a global show of support and potentially an investment in local jobs.”

After watching the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, US allies realize that they better get their own military up to speed because as long as the US is under Democrat control, the US cannot be trusted to come to the rescue if needed.

It's been that way for a long time. America's military is built up to fight one war on offense and one war on defense during the post Cold War. If anyone is expecting America to rescue them from their pitfalls, well, don't... America does NOT desire to be the world's policeman. America would prefer to be isolationist, America first... Just like most of the rest of the free world...

Nuclear technology is no joke. How much years does u.s and uk spend on researching for nuclear tech, how much is the reseach budget was used then multiply it to in today's inflation

Think of that. U.S is actually concious of sharing this kind tech so aussie's is very lucky to have this kind of project

America hasn't received its first Virginia class Mod V submarine yet, although ten have been ordered with more to come... 22 Virginia class submarines have been built, Mod I to Mod IV, America plans to order 66. Australia will be getting new Virginia class Mod V submarines with a service life of 33 years. Please don't imply falsehoods with your ignorance... Australia will purchase 3 to 5 Virginias, and build 6 to 8 UK Astute R class submarines in Australia, presumably at Adelaide... You shall receive your Virginias in the early 2030s, you shall build Astute R class for delivery during the 2040s, maybe a few years earlier in the late 2030s... America is building 2 per year, but have built 4 per year in the past with previous submarine classes... America has two shipyards building nuclear powered submarines at Groton, CT and Newport News, VA... America's shipbuilding naval programs are stretched out to sustain the shipyards, to keep their expertise to avoid closures and layoffs.

yes our oldest continuous allies , alliance .. For Australia it is time to step up its a steep learning curve and give Australian Education and Manufacturing Industries a renewed focus on high end technology in all fields mainly Nuclear Propulsion and other Nuclear Energy Research and development and make a substantial contribution to not only our own security interests but those of our neighbors and Allies .

It's likely those joining the RAN as a submariner may have to sign longer service contracts as US nuclear school for enlisted personnel is a two year endeavor on top of military boot camp.

People underestimate having a strong defense, it’s not about using it, but to deter. You don’t want to be bullied around economically by the Chinese, they are an authoritarian dictatorship meaning he can shut down all trade at anytime whenever he wants. One person makes the decision, he could go crazy one day. Never let your guard down with dictatorships especially close ones.

not true. white people are descended from Hyperboreans and Atlanteans, both of whom were super white.
Basically, white people are aliens. White people are only 98% Homo Sapien. The other 2% is Neanderthal DNA. Africans are 100% Homo Sapien. We are not the same.
