1060 is that one 70-year old former heavy weightlifter that still benches more than most people in the gym and has a body more ripped than people half his age.
More than "refueses to die" Im sorry for those who buy an expensive one. I have one 1060 6GB and play everything at full hd 1080 to 60 fps. Absolutely everything!
@@mushroomcrepes The game is very CPU bound in places. Most people with a 1060 will be using a much weaker CPU and will not see the same frame rates as in this video.
i just cant replace this gpu its too good to be replaced now till this day i can still play games on mid settings with 60 fps maybe high on 45-50 fps so still good for me
This further cements that Star Field is really CPU heavy. Since I am pretty sure the i9 12900k is not bottle necking the GPU. And most people with GTX 1060 probably do not have such a CPU...
Interesting. How's the performance looking with FSR OFF? I'm not a fan of FSR or DLSS. My other concern was V-Ram, it looks to be playable with medium settings, to stay under the 1060's 6GB of V-Ram. I was hoping to run this game at 1080p/30fps/Medium. It looks like it's possible. Thanks for help!
Just keep in mind that's on a 12900k and from what I've heard it's a cpu heavy game. I bet most people with a 1060 aren't going to be getting these numbers with a cpu matching the age of the 1060. But that does give me hope for a decent 30 fps experience on my older rig
Looks playable except for the lightning...or my eyes are getting old. But what a relief. I slept over it. Yes, game has many problems. Yes, even more so on my old pc but I need to buy it.
Maybe the acutal gameplay is a bit worse? I think It's like watching stream of SWITCH game(TOTK/MH-Rise), viewer can't feel game stuttering because of the recording compensation.
this game is so badly optimized it reserves 100% of the card and doesnt even use it full time, even on high end gpu's. I would bet after some updates it runs flawlessly on a 1060 6gb
I'm on similar specs as you (i5-7600 instead of 7400) and i'll give it a try too, but i wouldn't get my hopes up too much, unfortunately i doubt our CPU + GPU combo will be enough, this game is very CPU intensive from what i've heard, and our CPUs are pretty much ancient relics by now
Now i tried it and i can confirm it's an unplayable stuttery mess with sub-30FPS framerates most of the time even with everything set to minimum and render scale set to 50% for me with an i5-7600 and GTX1060, i guess cloud gaming is the only way i might be able to play this

Totally playable, totally respectable.
Im getting some times 30 to 45 on medium settings, depends on locations GTX 1080 Ryzen 5 5600x 16ram

The better your CPU - the better the experience is, even with older cards.

are we gonna overlook the i0 cpu

Ive got a 6 gb vram 1060. And a 16 gb i5 8600 CPU. Will I be able to run it decently?
fsr balance?
dude, on my 1060 you can play smooth for few minutes, but once action starts, the slideshow starts, so something is wrong with this gameplay.
