After filling do you let some ink drip out? I’ve seen that suggested but I haven’t seen many videos on it.

I just cleaned mine out and when I drain the water, some comes out from the top of the nib. Is that normal? I noticed it when I dripped out some ink yesterday. I don’t know if I should let the nib soak in warm water or what. I’m new to fountain pens.

I would flush that pen out with some water to get nearly all the blue ink out of the pen.

Before using fountain pen i think you should learn to grip first. You are writing as if you are writing by ball point pen.
