    Awesome craftsmanship, with the proper tool's you seem to do well. It's not the tool's that create such a great piece, it's the maker who can use them to create a vision. You sir have talent i will say

  • @nathangallagher2258

    looks good, love the handle
    interested to know how its holding up? D2 tool steel requires very specific temperatures when heat treating as well as a soak time, i made a few knives from D2 a while ago and ended up outsourcing the heat treat as I didnt have the right tools
    now i just use 1084 for most projects, easy to heat treat and work with

      "A bayonet (from French baïonnette) is a bladed weapon such as a knife or short sword, or spike-shaped weapon designed to fit in, on, over or underneath the muzzle of a rifle, musket or similar weapon, increasing the weapon, as a spear."

    • @marshmello2299

      It's a different handle with no attaching circle, do you know what replica means? Go get your eyes checked.

  • @psychopyro5781
    @psychopyro5781 8 лет назад

    It's very nice. Too nice to take into combat. One question though. You said this is a bayonet but I don't see a way to attach it to a gun. Is it a bayonet or a knife that's made to look like a bayonet?

    Beautiful work, I've watched all of the videos you've uploaded and i'm curious how well heat treating it in a fire works / holds up and if you've considered or tried using a blowtorch ?

    • @maciejnowakprojects
      @maciejnowakprojects  8 лет назад +6

      Tempering must last long enough. It is not only warm the blade, for some time it must maintain this temperature. The blowtorch can not deal with it. In addition, you have to constantly changing position of heating to produce a uniform temperature. It is easier to use traditional charcoal and some airflow :)
