Simon Jordan has changed his tune all of a sudden, after years of bashing Manchester City? What changed? He made some valid points but he still can't get his facts right about City annoyingly and how it differs to Newcastle's ownership, so it's hard to give him too much credit. A better comparison would have been PSG's ownership. They are owned, controlled and sponsored by a state, still meets UEFA's laws including FFP ones. City are not owned by a state or controlled by a state and never have been. They were purchased with one Royal's private wealth, via his private business, the distinction is obvious there. Now on to his specific mistakes. Sheikh Mansour is not the Prime Minister of the UAE, he is the deputy prime minister, that's a massive difference from the very start. Sheikh Mansour is not even the highest ranking Royal in Abu Dhabi, never mind the whole of the UAE. His brother is the Crown Prince and the de facto leader of Abu Dhabi, since their eldest brother is the president. Sheikh Mansour's positions in government were given to him by his older brothers, in support roles rather than leadership roles. His roles in government are also far more diminished that his titles would suggest, he's far more involved with his personal business portfolio than he is with government affairs. You can see that by how reserved he is and how big his business portfolio is too, he's not a politician, he's a businessman. Bin Salman on the other hand is a different matter, he is the Crown Prince of the whole of Saudi Arabia and the de facto leader of the Gulf state as King Salman(his father) is unable to fully rule because of dementia. The state links are much bigger, the state itself is much larger, richer and more powerful, the human rights issue is also much bigger. Newcastle's new ownership is everything they tried to say City's was but never really was and worse. However, the UK, the USA as countries have little room to talk past and present in terms of the damage done in the Persian Gulf. Barely any big clubs have their hands clean with the money they receive commercially and also in terms of transfer fees they receive to go about their business, all being being linked to that part of the world in some way or another. Even outside of that, where do you draw the line, China, Russia, the USA all have human rights issues of their own past and present. Every super club fan is a bit of a hypocrite when it comes that.
As a Spurs fan I would prefer that Lex Luthor Daniel Levy not be concerned about the Newcastle owners and be more concerned about the stale and neglected squad that we have at Spurs.
The only way forward is a salary cap the old guard Man U , Liverpool and Arsenal were reluctant to do that now they reap what they sow I'm sure Mo Salah's agents are waiting for Newcastle to over pay salary wise for players and they'll want more or the same depending on who the players going Newcastle is to renew his contract
The ‘best ‘ clubs running away from their native leagues to join up and play each other for their own gain, to the detriment of the other teams and league they left, is completely different to another team being bought by another billionaire. Even if it’s in dodgy circumstances

@@chy4919 The ESL was about creating tremendous disparity between the mega-wealthy and the 'other' clubs in order to monopolize success in football. Newcastle have just joined those clubs and all it does is creates a bubble at the top of the PL and everyone else fighting for scraps. There's no way a Norwich, Burnley, Watford or Southampton can compete with clubs like Citeh, Chelsea and now Newcastle when they can just splash hundreds of millions every summer.
@@tomralph8540 newcastle now adds to the bubble but certainly didn't create it. People can complain about this growing disparity and unfairness but to do it now is a little rich. We can source the start of this bubble all the way back to sky pumping billions to premiere league teams and leaving lower leagues behind, half the clubs now have been bought up by billionaires, which included mike Ashley. Should be angry about the financial fair play rules caps, not which billionaires are ok.
The reason the Premier League is the Worlds most popular league is because people with lots of money want to buy in and have the best players and managers. The clubs are worried as now we have a big 5 and everyone gets pushed down one peg.
1:57 Simon is speaking utter Facts here. Was never about "Morality" just let us broadcast to new audience. Fit and proper test doesn't actually take account human rights look it up. Also Newcastle owner is chairman of PIF which is a state run company = Literally how is that not conflict of interest cus he is literally directly tied to Saudi state so "SEPARATION" is rubbish. No hate just facts and irony of Prem league
The Human Rights cry is all bullshit anyways. It’s an issue when there is an agenda against Saudi and it isn’t an issue when they want to please Saudi. Reality is the issue is the Human Rights Act… not human rights. Human rights is subjective depending on who you speak to. Human Rights Act is a document written up by a group of a dozen people with secular values and then they spread it across societies as fact.
A Men Simon - thank you!! The other teams complaining the brand is gone, haha. These are some of the same teams that wanted to brake away from the brand!! Hypocrisy at its best 👌!!!
What annoys me about all this is that all these clubs are suddenly taking a moral standing based on the Saudi's human rights violations. Take a look at Man City for one, UAE still don't treat women as equals in society and in some places being a homosexual is punishable by death. How can anyone stand there and appreciate Man City and yet criticise Newcastle. I'm a Man Utd fan and I'm more disgusted at the ridiculous European Super League proposition than this takeover. Seems like we've quickly forgotten about our beloved big clubs wanting to do the dirty on us. Newcastle fans have had to endure THEIR (not Mike Ashley's) club being dragged down to one of it's lowest points in it's history. All this is, is the big clubs sensing another threat and they don't like it. I'm 100% behind Newcastle on this and anyone who takes a moral standing if they're a fan of club owned by people from countries with human rights violations is just a massive hypocrite. Go Newcastle!!!
By the way, for the other 19 Clubs, PIF are no longer worth £320 Billion. As of 1st February, PIF wealth has gone up by a further £27 Billion. Put it this way, Newcastle's owners are worth £347 Billion or put it another way, £347 thousand million, richer than every PL three times over. Let the jealousy and fear continue.
Why does the PL not have a Commissioner or President who talks for the League? Has anyone from the league held a press conference talking about all the ins and outs of this deal? It seems like nobody knows anything about this deal?
Hell no. I wonder how many people working for the FA and prem got massive kick backs for pushing this deal through. Probably tens of millions of dollars in bribes, rhats why it took so long to sort the deal.
Everyone knows about this deal, the media coverage was everywhere. The ins and outs of the deal, £300 million take over, 80% owned by Saudia Arabia’s public fund, 10% rueben brothers, 10% Amanda staverly. There has been more knowledge about the ins and outs of this dealing shared than any takeover before. What is the spokesperson supposed to say? an owner wanted to sell his asset, so he sold it. Unless clubs are fan run, then capitalism will always prevail.
@william anderson I don't see you complaining about the west selling them fighter jets bombs and missiles. But a football club oh no the world has come to an end. While you sit on your high horse talking facts here is one for you 1 million Iraqi people dead on a lie of weapons of mass destruction but I bet you still support England and america. People like you only talk when the narrative suits you.
Newcastle relegation is this year or never. However, If they do fail to stay in the PL after all, they will be back next season and it would be the last time they are seen in the championship.
As a Villa fan we don't have a lot of time for Newcastle but if they stop City and Utd winning then I will take it, Villa are getting there but admittedly won't be as quick as Newcastle with that money.
Whatever these 19 clubs are saying is nothing short of hypocritical. It's ridiculous. What have the people of Newcastle have to do to finally get their club back, suffer another 15 years of underachieving? I think not.

I don't often agree with Simon, but do 100% here. This shouldn't have happened, but you can't stop then after you let Roman & shriek Mandir take over. They begged to change the rules immediately, like germany
Most if not all football club owners only care because virtually all of them are headed by big businesses/very wealthy individuals who are only concerned with protecting their own self interests, not about whether what is happening is morally acceptable. However having said that it's still not right that clubs who have legitimately tried to steadily build themselves up over a long period of time are effectively being leapfrogged in next to no time by a club who have/are going to bypass all the 'hard graft' that most others have to put in simply by virtue of them being allowed to be run by a mega rich oil state. Beyond that it's only some (not all) fans, and those with a conscience who are concerned that an oppressive regime is allowed to take over an English football club. It seems most Newcastle fans are fine with who their new owners are, and what their club has now become. Enjoy any success that comes your way Newcastle fans. It will be as hollow as a Poundland Easter egg, and a lot more tasteless.
There's no separation between the state and the club. Money talks and there's always a way to get the paperwork in place. Companies do it all the time. I'm excited to watch Newcastle get back up there challenging but let's be real.
The real question should be why is everyone in the game now pocket watching when the message a few months ago (and usually is) was “wE dOnT cArE aBoUt MoNeY” 🥴

Very Smart.
God ,,, isn’t Danny Murphy boring 🤨
as a liverpool fan im happy with this takeover. why??? maybe FSG will wake up and spend money buying players.
As a Spurs fan I would prefer that Lex Luthor Daniel Levy not be concerned about the Newcastle owners and be more concerned about the stale and neglected squad that we have at Spurs.
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Pure jealously from other 19 clubs that's all
@william anderson uh, yeah
100% agree
The only way forward is a salary cap the old guard Man U , Liverpool and Arsenal were reluctant to do that now they reap what they sow I'm sure Mo Salah's agents are waiting for Newcastle to over pay salary wise for players and they'll want more or the same depending on who the players going Newcastle is to renew his contract
As a City fan, I really don’t care, I wish Newcastle the very best and hope City are not involved in the 💩
A man city "Fan" called Enrique. From absolutely nowhere near Manchester. Obviously

It was gonna happen eventually with the money in the game , the wages , transfer fees and merchandise .
Remember everyone, these are the same pundits who were six months slamming the European super money league
The ‘best ‘ clubs running away from their native leagues to join up and play each other for their own gain, to the detriment of the other teams and league they left, is completely different to another team being bought by another billionaire. Even if it’s in dodgy circumstances
Spurs and Arsenal have the hump because we joined the ESL but Newcastle are far wealthier now.
“Simon Jordan SLAMS…”
It’s surely a wind up at this stage 😂
how tf are Man City part of the other 19 clubs opposing this takeover. Simon's bang on again btw
I cant stand Simon Jordan but he is 100% right on this.
Were Everton informed before Man City got sold ??
Were West Ham informed before Chelsea got sold ??
Were Spurs informed before Liverpool got sold ??
The other owners need to shut their mouth after trying for a breakaway super league that would have destroyed English football only six months ago!
Im going to correct you there cos its never been anything to do with either clubs it is in fact the owners of the respected clubs who wanted it
@@Anthony-pw5gu I wrote owners in my comment so nothing to correct? When Russian oligarchs, ameriguns and states bought clubs it set a precedent- this is just a continuation!
@@hypengiggles6622 sorry my bad i got confused cos i seen another comment similar to this one on this video and someone blaming the clubs for the sl...
I guess the english bundesliga is a better option.
Thee only thing that Newcastle are happy about is that Mike Ashley has gone
This is what football media like TS needs TBH. Non-traditionally football people like Jordan explaining reality to them. Ex-drunks like Merson and Le Tiss barely know who owns their own former clubs let alone how the Premier League works
I think the 15 clubs not in the top 5 should call a meeting with the Premier League because of how difficult it is to get into the top 5... Because of money.
What's the difference
@@jack28aug you really think the other clubs are complaining because the Saudis were pirating? Get real mate
Dont like to put radz down but he has no right to complain. He wasn't bothered about human rights when he sent our team around Myanmar on a pre season tour. Cant be a hypocrite just because you're salty. But still love ya Radrizzani! ALAW
When started this rule that you need to consult the other 19 clubs if you want to sell your football club?
Everyone needed the ‘other’ PL clubs to get involved regarding the Super League, but now they need to shut up and put up?
The super league was about making a breakaway league, this is bitching about a new owner with more money than them. Apples to oranges.
I was about to agree with you but then I saw Gronk
If they are pissed off bring in a proper and enforcable salary cap.
Simon 100% bang on, for once.
The reason the Premier League is the Worlds most popular league is because people with lots of money want to buy in and have the best players and managers.
The clubs are worried as now we have a big 5 and everyone gets pushed down one peg.
Sour grapes from other clubs ,if any other club had the chance of getting taken over with loads of cash they would sell their granny
@@jack28aug what the hell you on about, the whole world is corrupt , so one more football club is not going to make much difference
@@jack28aug It never stopped Manchester untied from signing with Saudi sponsorship's did it? you lot are laughable 🤣
Were the other 19 clubs in on the deal when Man City got sold ???
A Men Simon - thank you!! The other teams complaining the brand is gone, haha. These are some of the same teams that wanted to brake away from the brand!! Hypocrisy at its best 👌!!!
Omg.... Jealousy is rife
4:31 the way they just talk at the same time is hilarious
Our owner did not lobby Boris Johnson. He offered him the worlds best haircut.
@william anderson I bet it dont stop you watching Disney movies.
BREAKING NEWS!! SIR STEVE BRUCE HAS JUST SIGNED A NEW 10 YEAR CONTRACT TO MANAGE NEWCASTLE UNITED WORTH £50 MILLION!! ALL HAIL SIR STEVE BRUCE!!
Whatever these 19 clubs are saying is nothing short of hypocritical. It's ridiculous. What have the people of Newcastle have to do to finally get their club back, suffer another 15 years of underachieving? I think not.
19 clubs call emergency meeting against Newcastle..
Funny because if any other club had these new owners it would be the other 19 clubs against the 1..
As a Newcastle fan even I'm a bit worried.im happy for the future of Newcastle but also worried about the game.its such a phenomenal amount of money
But the other 19 would not be combining it it was them
About one thing. The other PL CLUBS ARE SHITTING THEMSELVES THAT NEWCASTLE WILL BECOME A SUPERPOWER. Jealousy period. Fear fear fear and as a Toon supporter I love it.
Asda didn’t need to inform Tesco, Sainsburys, Marks and Spencer or Aldi when they were looking to sell to EG group. Sometimes ai wonder what Jim White is doing there. Some of the things he says makes no sense

A country vs a chairman. Football in England will slowly die off in the next 20 years. Allowing psg, City and Newcastle into football was a silly move and it will kill off football

I don't often agree with Simon, but do 100% here. This shouldn't have happened, but you can't stop then after you let Roman & shriek Mandir take over. They begged to change the rules immediately, like germany
Its business,... Move on.
I wonder whos not happy. the sly 6 by any chance
Bet some back handers given out in supermarket bags. And the Government wouldn't refuse it look at the state of Britain atm!
BIG fan of Simon these days
Epl teams had 18 months to voice their concerns.
There's no separation between the state and the club. Money talks and there's always a way to get the paperwork in place.
Companies do it all the time.
I'm excited to watch Newcastle get back up there challenging but let's be real.
Couldn’t agree more from a geordie

You'd think the other clubs would welcome the competition, they all have skeletons in their closets,
We are the richest club now get over it.
Mitcham is Chelsea.
I bet if Jordan was still in charge of Crystal Palace he'd be singing from the same hymn sheet as those he is currently criticising.
