Nan I don't think so. On toxic people like him you need to go ballistic all that way that they learn faster. Content creator like that guy is what community should avoid at all costs because he makes shiet in his own nest. Especially on this pos. I heard about him few times already when he made same thing to other people just because. If I had the opportunity to copyright strike him I will do it without a second thought just to delate his channel out of existence for what he done to other content creators just because he forgot his medicine.

This kind of happened to me in ESO. I was in a guild, and they liked to raid. I was in the discord, and I would occasionally raid as a tank. I didn't know the raids, so I'd ask for a quick, what do you want me to do and I'd just do it. I learned quick so I wasn't worried about struggling too much.
They asked in discord why people wouldn't join. And I said "hey I like yall, but I don't like to play a meta tank so I don't want to be the guy who's going in and playing a more selfish playstyle since I know raids are a group effort." They ended up saying I was a bad tank, I was full of myself, the wife of the guild leader mocked what I said and said
""I like you guys" oh yeah you like us but you hate playing with us and playing the content we are trying to complete."
And them before I could really say much besides "I've been raiding with other guilds and I've improved a ton since I last raided with you guys." They kicked me out of the guild and the discord and berated me all because I said I didn't raid because I have a selfish playstyle. And they asked for my honesty only to shoot me down and call me trash, and kick me out. After that I haven't really raided since because I don't want to be apart of that toxic culture in that game. So I do understand the feeling of being berated by your guild. And as the tank I feel it's worse because you also get berated during the raid for any mistakes, for dying, for pulling too much, for not holding aggro and a squishy gets 1 hit (mind you ESO has a single target aggro ability not AOE aggro abilities)

I dont know Jahlon, but i was present in the discord discussion and i remember him being the only one asking really good and solid questions, but steven avoided him all the time. It was so hillarious that i wanted to DM Jahlon at some point, if they have something personal going? And he wasnt toxic either aside from a "lol" staring his argument. No one would react another way considering stevens answers.
Anyway, lets wait for alpha 2 and see how it plays out.

I remember when I first started covering ashes, I got several comments telling me to stop making videos as this is "Jahlon's" space or something along those lines. No idea if it was random community members, or alt accounts of his or what. Regardless, I was curious so I checked his stream out. Turned out to be the most toxic place I have ever been on Twitch haha. Never watched his content ever again. Not a good community for ashes. Hope he is humbled a bit and comes back a better person. I'd absolutely give him a second chance.

Really appreciated this video. Running a guild brings so many trials and struggles. There is no real cookie cutter way to success. The method you used in your 20s may not work in your 30s... then things change when you are in your 40s.... There will always be some regrets in how we approached situations in game or real life. The key is that we learn from it and progress as a human being. Did we develop empathy? Did we learn this is a game not real life? Did we learn to just respect people's time? There are so many lessons to think on and reflect on of how could I have done this better. I like Jalon and I like Narc. Both are very good at what they do... they each have their style and yet I learn so much from each of their streams. It is important to find those who you can enjoy your time with! If it is Jahlon go there, if it is Narc then go there... if you like hanging out on yourtube and watch xillin do that! I view streamers like I view mmorpg's.... there is so much variety, why box yourself into one game, one stream, etc.-Razthemun

I have listened to my fair share of shouting raidleaders that will not hesitate to point you out as the only reason 39 others wiped as one example. Really big of you coming to this insight. Why there is a "drama" on a future game that is not really out I have no clue. Probably expectations and that so many are wishing this to be the thing. Everyone have their own version how their dream MMORPG looks like. Anyway great video by you.

Finally got the time to look up what actually happened. This is a very sad turnaround of events but I've always this to happen one day. There was a time when a content creator who wanted to start making Ashes content asked Jahlon a question about Ashes and would like to have Jahlon's response in his own video. Jahlon suddenly started raging, calling him names, berating him because that content creator asked for a collab on his stream. I have no idea how or why he would think that. It's very common for fellow content creators to collab and interact with each other on their livestream chats. It went on for almost 2 hours. Nothing we did could stop Jahlon and his chat from berating that content creator. To the content creator, if you're reading this, you know who you are. I'm so glad you didn't get discouraged by him and proceed to make Ashes content anyway. You're doing great now it seems.
Jahlon's behaviour during his livestreams is definitely unhinged. I hate to see it but he keeps burning bridges and destroying every credibility he has by berating someone on stream despite calling himself a teacher. He always say, "there's no such thing as a stupid question" but we all know that's not true. It is sad. He is definitely one of the best when it comes to Ashes knowledge.

Back in WoW, I came up with the strategy to get past the First Molten Core Boss (for our guild) and a later one as well, taught them how to use healadins effectively, the robot boss in the Mansion, created what became the Meta for Mages at the time. Helped in innumerable ways with crafting etc.
You know, be a guild member.
In return, they treated me like absolute crap. I won't go into it, but when it finally pushed me over and I /gquit. The "Co-leader" whispered me why? She was so surprised.
She was also the most toxic member in the guild.

Yeah, every interaction I've had with Jahlon has always been immensely negative. It's not like anyone has to say anything negative. People could give their honest opinions and he'll come in and just rip into them for no good reason. Asmon once said that if you say something, and you're right, but you're an asshole about it, people won't look at you as the person who is right. You're just going to be seen as an asshole. Jahlon has made that very impression on an immense amount of people. And he complains that Narc's channel is larger than his saying maybe if he did videos in his underwear he'd get bigger, but said it in a way that totally berated the Ashes community as a whole by saying so. He hampers his own channel by doing this crap. I don't think Jahlon has a hard time understanding what other people think. I think he just can't comprehend being wrong about something, or someone else being right. I told him straight up that he's smarter than this, but he went straight on the offensive over and over.
Also, kudos to you for manning up to your mistakes. Not many people can say they've lead a group of people, in a game or out of it. It's extremely hard to be a good leader. Shit happens, but if you actually take the time to reflect on it, you usually come out a better person. Especially if you admit to it and others accept it. Can't learn from your mistakes if you don't admit you have them.

Especially when they are incorrect or ill-informed, it really puts them on the back pedal and makes them unsettled. When you have a person unsettled, they usually lash out verbally and in some extreme cases physically.

"I didn't know it would affect his possible partnership" And he says "Narc has borrowed my content before though." Dude what? get off the internet if you think react content is stealing your content. Don't post anything online if you don't want someone else to react or can't understand the rules. But, using a system illegally to ruin someone's reputation but claiming you wouldn't have done it if you knew it destroys their chances at partnership is just bad acting. Bad faith, bad actor. It's a shame but I appreciate your response. Relating to the situation gives us perspective into what's happened and helps us remember times we've made mistakes. But intentionally ruining someone's career over petty bullshit is a bit more shit than being a frustrated raid leader LOL. But that's how relating your experiences in way or another works.

Its alright to disagree with someone, that's human nature. We all have varying opinions. I get frustrated as hell sometimes in my current main MMO with some of the randoms that I've been stuck with in group raids. However I never make it personal. I don't PM them berating them about how stupid they are. I may be thinking it but that's as far as it goes. Its a mark of intelligence and self control to be able to filter yourself. In my game If you put someone on your ignore list it won't team you with them in a random queue...so I just do that instead and then going forward the problem is solved. There's no reason to needlessly be a dick, or to purposely hurt someone's feelings to satiate your own ego. Assuming that your opinions are more important than someone else's because you think your better or smarter than they are...well that is toxic and narcissistic, especially when it becomes habitual.

Not gonna lie, when I sat down to make the video, it was definitely gonna be some drama coverage, and I was planning on going in on Jahlon. But, then I remembered that the one thing I've been working on in my life is giving a little grace. So, a totally different video than what I had planned came out, and it clearly the right way to go.

What people say and do on live stream can't be undone. It's different to recording and editing. I've also came across players in guilds, usually those with the rank higher than my own who throws their weight around. Half of the raid left the group, and a few weeks later they left the guild. You admit your own flaws and as long you don't do it again its fine in my book. But some people can't, that's because they are a capital C in C$£!.

That paradox dude has a narcissism problem that i picked up months ago when i first saw a video from him bitching about ashes features and mechanics when the game isnt released or in alpha 2 where people get to actually see and not go off a concept or idea. I was a competitive baseball player up to college and dealing with coaches and teammates you learn a bit how to control ego and that sense of narcissism otherwise you might get punished or be the reason others get punished. Some people especially gamers who often live an isolated lifestyle where they are the hero/main character/secret king have absolutely no control over it and then have outbursts when things dont go perfectly or in their favour. Like when someone disagrees with your opinion, or when other gamers online that you are leading or playing with mess up what you find to be incredibly easy. I respect the accountability that you may have been the one who killed off your guild when it is 1000% easier to play victim and say something like “the guild died because of useless players not holding up their own weight” to get sympathy from people who have no context of the whole situation 👍🏾

I'm probably forgetting others but I don't care for Jahlon as a person. I think his Ashes 101 content was really good but when I saw the person behind the content, I couldn't support him anymore. Maybe the dude can change but I doubt it. Either way, great take Xillin and much love.

Hey babe (I'm single) wake up, new Xillin video just dropped! You brought me in to raiding back in 2013/14? I remember it clearly, 16M TFB invited with a few friends by Justice. And since then we've been at it until 2015 and most recently 2023. I've learned so much from you, I was never phased by your criticisms and "berating" I just always seen it as leader things. That being said I could see how some didn't respond well to it. I got nothing but appreciation and gratitude for you, and you owning up to this/taking responsibility is a step in the right direction. - Monse

Ashes of creation is not even out yet to be calling things bad or good, we can leave opinion on how we feel about it, but right now we can't say for sure until we play the game. And to those thinking the graphics of AOC is bad can't say that because you looking at a video and even if is in 4k those people watching the 4k video don't even have a 4k screen

LOL My EQ2 Guild leader acted the same way back then. We tolerated it to a point, but in the end, he was left alone in his guild and we started a new. I mean, a Raid leader needs to be strict and concise, as the Mechanics, do need to be called and followed, but not to the point of going to the point of berating the team. Healers should NOT be crying on Ventrilo (yeah I'm old...shut it). The TANK should not Rage quit in the middle of the last Boss, because of the Raid leader. He was cool any other time.
So, I hope he's mellowed as well has you did, in the end.
Hold on... was it you?!?! LOL if you had 16 Raid team, then it more than likely wasn't as we had 24 raid members.

Why people are creating drama over a game that isn't even released yet, and that they (despite what people think from preview videos and developer vlogs) know next to nothing about when it comes to the final product, is beyond me. That Jelon guy often picks games to glom onto and then sets himself up as the second coming of Christ for that game. He did this with Archeage as well. Maybe calm down kids, it's not like you don't have other games to play, or that making enemies before a game is even a year from release, is necessary.

@Xillin and that's okay, I used to run raids in Destiny 1. And it was 6 man raids which were very mechanic heavy. And I would get frustrated when I would have 1-2 bad players because the added work, skill, and stress increased like 2-3x the amount for the other 4 people who had to be in perfect sync to make things work. I tried not to be too mean but I know I would sometimes make comments or sigh in frustration or go quiet

What he did to Narc was malicious and on called for. As far as I am concerned, he will reap what he has sown. I have zero respect for any content creator that uses a copy strike as a blunt weapon against a fellow content creator because they got butt hurt. Sad truth is the content creator community is brutal to others that pull BS like he did with the Strike. Steven even chimed in about what a dick move that was. Sad truth is he is quickly becoming more popular than he has ever been for all the wrong reasons.

I mostly agree, but...one thing I've been trying to do is not let myself completely cut someone out because they've done things I don't like, even relatively bad things. If they have no path back, why would they try to come back? They are incentivized to continue the bad behavior. So yeah, what he did was awful, but let's see if he sees his wrongs and begins to correct.

I doubt it was seen as "berating" by your guild mates Xillin, in your case, its considered as leadership and its understandable, especially if the fight takes a long time and a single mistake will make u go through it all over again.. I'd get tilted too.. as for J.. I said this in Narc's video and i'll say it again.. the guy is really toxic and an absolute idiot.. i'll have to disagree with u Xillin.. he's not smart at all.. he has bad takes and just takes other people's opinions badly.. and honestly, i wouldnt consider him as a 'titan'.. I used to watch his stuff and his stream.. i talked to him a bunch of times and he just takes everything badly.. he hates to be wrong, and whatever he sees as "right" is just is.. just because thats what he wants.. its like arguing with a 5 years old.. and sorry if this comes out as "negative" but honestly, i dont think this guy will ever change.. he's just feeling himself and theres too much ego.. its sad to know he's a teacher too..
