I believe that the "nitro" Guinness that I first enjoyed at The White Lion Pub in Ramsey, England in 1971, was the finest example of the brewers art that I had ever experienced. It took about 3 minutes to tapapinta..The glass cost 50P but was slid over the bar with ice crystals distributed throughout the living brownish black serving. I am still very much a fan of the pint , even today.

I never met a Guinness l didn't like. I have always said Guinness is like mother's milk to me. The draught is one l could drink all day, the extra stout is indeed just that but also very enjoyable. I don't normally care for IPA beers but Guinness IPA is the exception.

The Guinness draught we drink here in USA is not as good as what they drink in Ireland (they get theirs fresh) but at least it’s all brewed in Ireland, so you know it’s genuine Irish beer.
Suggest you look up these guys - they really know their Guinness….

Guinness was based on a Welsh porter. The stagecoach from London to Dublin passed through there, where Guinness stopped for the night before travelling on. The Irish boycotted the drink as it was deemed 'Protestant Porter'. But the drink owes its success to the British Empire where the foreign extra style is still enjoyed in the Caribbean. I prefer the Original Guinness myself, rather than the watery exported creamy stuff passed off as Guinness in English pubs.

I attemted to re create guiness, in a healthy fashion
By establishing techniques for the malting of grains,
Then fermenting aerobically, with different yeasts, or, wild scottish yeast, for authenticity,
With peat moss in the mix,
    And also,
    Fresh grass, and rhizobia bacteria
    To increase nitrogenation..
Which should be perfectly like guiness, but home made
