My next door neighbour - - used to play this grande valse - - and i hear this music piece - - as well as Strauss and other classical pieces. And i remember them so well.

The LSO and Bonynge are fantastic in this gorgeous-sounding ballet! Its Arcadian theme is irresistible, even if its type of idealised mythological subject matter lends itself to being spoofed by comedy acts. But the music is just so exquisite and pleasurable to listen to that it scarcely matters.....
