Before debut he was a street dancer and won several dance competitions, he also loves to learn different styles of dancing in different genres of music and has or had a section called "J-hope on the street" where he practices and does freestyle. Also, Hobi is the dance leader and usually help the other members to learn the choreo, fix the positions and stuff. J-hope is a perfectionist so no wonder why BTS' performance are always incredible 🔥🔥

In the dance line… J-hope is officially the choreography captain, the dance leader and the performance leader of Bangtan. Jimin is his vice captain and main dancer. JK and Tae are lead dancers and assistant managers. Tae was added in 2018 officially by Son Seung Duk their performance director of bighit (he announced it on social media after the debut of singularity MV) J-hope run’s all their practices and often leads them in making adjustments to their performances. This is a snippet of what he can do. I highly recommend the full mic drop dance practice, you won’t regret it. However it is important to note that in performances all 7 are capable of being lead/main dancers in different ways. For example in contemporary dance Jimin excels, while in overall performance and stage presence no one can match Taehyung and Hobi. In facial expressions and body expression, Tae is untouchable.
