Hey guys! Next video is gonna be a little late again, I took a break from filming to look after my son but next one is gonna be my favorite art supplies video. After that I should be back to my regular schedule ❤️
I got this when I started watercolors based on Emily's suggestion too. [nod] HamRib -- just as a data point, when I got mine about 2.5 years ago, it only came with the #6 round brush. I don't know when they started adding the flat brush, but that would've been nice to get too. I didn't know the Prang set would come with a brush -- guess I didn't read every word on its Amazon page :P -- so I ordered a Princeton Neptune #6 round (I think it was also Emily who said that was a good size/type to get if you could only afford one). I used the Prang brush first, and when I tried the Neptune brush, it was clearly a better quality, but the Prang brush is still decent, very useable. A little over a year ago, I got a $40 set of watercolor pencils for Christmas, and it came with a free brush that was cheap, unusable crap, so bad I just threw it away. So props to Prang for providing decent brushes, whether one or two.
I got these from Emily's suggestion also. Mine came with one brush, in 2019. I can't make pink though, kind of wish I'd gotten the set of 16, but I later got a watercolor pencil that has pink so I'm ok.
@@hambot or who’s the manufacturer of their included brushes for i think that’s how it is. they just put their brand ‘prang’ but it’s really from a different brush manufacturer. i really wanna know
I really love using these! They're pretty big and easily rewet! Love the mixing spaces and its kinda sad they aren't lightfast. Wish they're were an artist grade version but I still love to just use it in my sketchbook!
The ovals ones actually have a brown color! The washable ones that are more common where I live have (in place of 'brown') a weird greyish bird poop color. I can't mix a great brown for the life of me in the set I have, but I try
I'm interested in the washable ones! I wonder if that means they're easier to lift because these ones are very hard to lift out of the paper ones they're dry. As for the brown, just do red, yellow and blue together you should be able to get a brown, then adjust to get the exact one you want.
omg my high school art teacher insisted on these! i couldn’t find mine anymore so i picked up the small winsor & newton set a couple years ago, but i wanna find these again!
I'm planning on buying my first watercolor and so I searched on prang reviews and I'm convinced, all I have to do now is save somw money 🙃 Also, I really love your artstyle and the way you choose your colors, very warm and that made me sub!
When i was an architecture student back in the Phils in the early 80’s we used to use this for our rendering. It’s very popular back then and considered as the best watercolors.
Impressive results with a material that many start their painting life with. Am totally down with your free, expressive, color choice's, as you waltz across the page. The later addition of permanent line work adds just the definition that's needed to delineate each element. You make Prang a most viable item for anyone who just needs to get a quick color study without having to drag out the big guns. Exquisite.
I started with their 24 set! Have moved on since then but that was definitely a good and affordable place to start working in watercolor for high school me.
The white tip brush is so amazing. It doesn't stain and I can get all of the color out and it shapes right back to the original shap. I love that brush. Just keep rolling the brush in water and the in between scrap paper.
@@mik_mik3000 Prices do vary in different areas. Compared to other brands I know of that are also available here in the Philippines, having similar performance, these are considered cheap. :))
I actually have the watercolor set!!!!!😚 Mine is pretty old but I still use it lol They are pretty good, easy to use for beginners and they are really good for paintings!
This Is the watercolor palette that got me into watercolor o.o at first i was so against it causw I. Didnt like how translarent it was and how it looked plus having to use it from tubes but once I got a waterbrush and this palette I was always coloring my sketches with it, its definitely great for beginners to see if they wanna get into it , I could make light, dark, midtone, and mix colors with it and wod love the outcome...later I got the prima marketing watercolors in tropical when they first were being talked about and I heard they were good quality for cheap so of course I got them and love how opaque some colors are and mix and blend well o.o
omggg hi ateeeee, i didnt know you were from the philippines >\\\\\< this sem break i will try my best to practice my watercolor, i aspire to be as good as you in watercolor and im in love with your art syle but i just cant paint the way i want to
alot of ppl are saying prang is the most affordable good wc but i found one for my first wc its the pric difference is not high but the one i bought is cheaper its even in a tincase and its 12color i got it on seamiart on shopee for sale before idk abt now! ps:share ko lng (my opinion)
Hi, I also saw a cheap watercolor on semiart shop on shopee. The one on 12 color only cost 149 pesos as of now. I wonder if it's the same with what you got? it's box is color orange and the case of wc is plain white with waterbrush and sponge on the inside and you can also mix on the side. I'm also planning to try wc for the first time and I couldn't decide whether to start with prang or for that watercolor on semiart which is cheaper
gandaaaa ♡♡♡ gshshshsha yung prang ko hindi ko na pinapansin simula nung binili ko yung sonnet watercolors (student grade ng white nights) ko gsghshhahaha
I have the 16 set of this! i just cant paint with less than 12 colors anymore im too used to it! lol they lift so easy tho, atleast on the paper i use, guess it all just depends s blehhh i dont think i'll buy it after im done with it tbh, sigh~
