Tatsu Mikami (the bassist and driving force behind the band) put together an American lineup (Dave Szulkin, Eric Little, and Scott Carlson) to record a new album in early 2016, called And Then There Were None (sort of referring to Mikami's situation). However, those were session members. By 2017, he had a lineup again, this time using Hiroyuki Takano, Yasuto Muraki, and Junichi Yamamura. Church of Misery is now touring again, and I've heard the new lineup is fantastic!
i really belive they would be more of a mainstream act if not for the serial killer gimmick they got a great sound !! bad ass !! so much more then a novelty act

They're doing two shows with Eyehategod in the Netherlands in the Near Future. That'd be one badass show to see.
