I think the subway tiles are too cool toned/grey especially since you're wanting to switch over to more warm beachy tones throughout the space.
I think it would look so cute and beachy if you did wicker pendant lights in your kitchen and then just kept the hardware silver to match your appliances! :)

Subway tiles are timeless but the ones you have samples of look a bit too cool toned for the warmth you're trying to bring into the space. See if you can find some that are a little warmer toned. ❤

hydrangeas color depend on the different soils you have where you plant them. i have a bush in my yard and the blooms are a variety of colors (pink, purple, blue, white, etc) on the same bush, but the nutrients in the soil can be different in the locations causing the blooms to be a different color or shade!!!! its so fun and interesting to see what color the blooms will be 🤍😍

Our subway tiles are from Home Depot and look very similar to the ones you picked out! They are called "Kingston White" but you're right that they are a light off-white with variation. It gives off the cozy, natural vibes we wanted :)
You should do neutral pendants with texture like rattan or a fabric something beachy. Then bronze/antique brass hardware , so it’s not bright gold. And the neutral subway tile!
I just got back into running too and my knees were KILLING me. I went to PT and it’s because your hamstrings are tight and pull on your knee. I got a muscle stick and it’s super helpful!!

I think the subway tile is best! Hard to tell while you just hold a few up but once it was all done I think you’d like it! I’m looking into tiles and countertops next year so I’m definitely going through these doubts too 🤦🏼♀️
I think you should do black knobs but if u do gold i would get your dishwasher turned into a cabinet front its actually easy to do. Like the concealed fridge cabinet
Love the subway tiles! You should look at some interiors designers you like, most of the offer a consultation so you get an hour or two of their time, they come over and give you advice or do it through zoom (I would look at Jess Kleine, your style matches hers)
I think the middle choice for backsplash would look good with like you suggested swapping for gold hardware on the cabinets, faucet, etc. I would just say don’t rush it and make sure you find a way to incorporate warm tones into your kitchen so it doesn’t feel so sterile

Gretchen I think you need something more beige/warm toned for tiles! That goes more with the beach dream you're having! I also think keeping the chrome hardware makes it cape cod, if you switch to gold it's going to be too glam and not go with the rest of your home! If you don't like the pendant lights, switch them up but keep it neutral, not shiny gold

I like the shiny square ones! Very beachy, gives a nice pop but not in a competitive way. Def not the mother pearl. You can never go wrong with safe subway tiles though.

Hydrangea color is determined by the PH of your soil so they might change to blue even if you get white ones

I think black hardware (handles, not knobs) would look best. I love pops of black in neutral houses!
be careful with those arborvitaes if you get a big snow storm. if it snows alot and the snow piles on it, you will want to knock it off, or the tree will be badly bent and might even die... we learned the hard way the first year in our house. we have a huge privacy hedge of them and a few were stuck at a 90 degree angle after being buried in snow during a bad storm. the nice thing about them, is they grow 12-15 inches per year so you will have nice big trees for privacy rather quickly :)
The cape gets more rain than snow in the winter so they’ll probably be okay
