I’m glad that I was able to see Canadian Pacific 2816 at the CPKS’s headquarters both when it was in operation and displayed under steam at one spot.

I've been watching a ton of the Final Spike Tour videos that have so far been posted here on YT, so thanks to all these dedicated rail fans for documenting! Absolutely love the maintenance stop stuff here on this footage. That is one handsome/pretty locomotive. Love the big driver wheels, i think they are 75"?! UP 844, my favourite steamer, has I believe even bigger, like 80". The big drivers are designed for fast locomotives, but through both Canada and USA she seems to have not gone more than 60mph....do the railways impose speed limits? There is no question the CPKC 2816 can do 90mph. They should just let her fly....especially when highballing through Sask, there isn't a curve for 300 miles!

    Steam locomotion. Sweet emotion.
(If the good lord intended man to fly... we wouldn't have no trains to ride)

That "Digital Sounding" whistle has to go. And so does the person in the Theater car who feels the need to blow the horn on that thing all of the time.
