Pure sound Incab!😍 Cat 390 F - Ramping down into a “powder blast”!Enjoing my last hour this shift!!

  • The pile in the previous two videos is gone, and I was redirected to the other side of the hill, right next to our rig area!😋
    After some days in a pretty hard blast pile, I really appreciated to tone down towards change of shifts and some time off!🤩
    Almost sad to leave this pile to the other shift, but I really needed to recover as well..😂
    The trucks and I were at this point facing downwards, to ramp down 2,5 meters of height, from the parking lot behind me. The pits for the trucks were at about 10% elevation, I had the bench diving at about 5% as I gets mad of waiting for the machine when swinging in steep slopes.
    However, this makes the grading for the truck pits a little bit harder, as the bottom of my bucket don’t have the same grade as I am trying to achieve for the trucks..😅 Pure priorities, but I loose too much time if I’m placing the machine as tilted as the trucks..🤪
    Looking down on the dozer receiving the rock on this spot, really short haul for the trucks!😋 Nearly no idle time for me, and that’s how I like it, even close to the end of my shift..🤪😄
    Enjoy my last video from the shift of April!🙏🙂

    At 2:23 😂😂😂😂👍👍👍 that happened to me so many times waiting in the oil sands in northern Alberta, those slow rock truck drivers messing with cycle time

    • @norwegianearthmovers
      @norwegianearthmovers  3 года назад +1

      Hehe, that was perhaps a moment where I wasn’t paying enough attention as well..😄 But it happens if I’m forced to wait for the trucks, as I then try to drink or eat something while waiting..😅
      And just suddenly there’s a truck slamming into the bucket..😂

    Liked the subtle communication with your drivers. Liked the way you tried to keep the sides of the pile balanced for loading. Loved the way you got the two big rocks to fit into the bucket in the first half of the video, by letting the right one fall to the back first. Just luck? Lots of operators would have lost one of those rocks. Loved the way you positioned a big rock in the upper back of the bucket, chased in with lots of small stuff, so that when you dumped it into the truck the big rock landed on a bed of smalls. I was eager to see what you are going to do with the larger ones on the away part of the left side (as you face the pile).

      Wow, can’t keep from smiling when reading your feedback!🙏🙂
      Thank you so much for your kind review!🤗
      Well, I like to keep a light, friendly and humorous tone in my conversations!😋 Gets so much more by being friendly, than if one is a “barking” guy, hard to please!😅
      Hehe, I don’t like to brag, but there was no luck in the cycle I took those boulders in one pass..😉🤭😄
      I do my best to be gentle in my methods, I don’t want to hurt my drivers too much! One bucket of fine materials the first pass, and some random fines combined with larger rock - do give the truckers a more gentle ride!😋
      One doesn’t think of it always, but they do actually take and haul up to 100 loads each every day!😅 It is a lot to endure for them too!🙉😄
      Well, what happened to those large boulders at the left, I actually don’t know, as I parked the machine for the shift and left. If I would have carried on, I would probably put it to the side for the breaker to process!😉
      Thank you so much again for your comment!🙏😊

    This has to be a different kind of stone or rock, most of the material i see in your videos is grayish or light brown! I wonder is this basalt cause it has a dark color to it. Awesome footage as always and I’m sure you’re in the 70-80 tons range.

    • @norwegianearthmovers
      @norwegianearthmovers  3 года назад +5

      Hi!🙋‍♂️ This is the same site, but on the other end of the hill my previous videos were made!😋
      There was probably some other variant of rock here, but I would guess that it is still mostly granite in this! However, there is always different grades of erosions to the rock! This seemed more “sandy” than earlier, seems like nature has broken the rock down a bit!😋
      Hehe, my trucks are still the same, and they can’t load much more than 50 tons..😅 I am trying to load them as heavy as possible though, but more than 50 tons will only result in a lot of spillage both when loading and hauling.😄
      Really appreciate that you watched this one too!🙏😊

    Klasse wie du laden kannst. Bist du mit dem CAT Bagger zufrieden? Wir bekommen jetzt auch einen CAT 395 mit Tieflöffel. Vorher hatten wir Liebherr mit Hochlöffel der hat mir nicht gefallen. Aber ein Hochlöffel im Steinbruch gefällt mir besser. Ist halt auch teurer.

      Hi!🙋‍♂️ Thank you very much for your kind feedback!🙏😊
      I have been very satisfied with Cat excavators, they are for me the strongest, fastest and most efficient machines compared to other brands!🥳 But that’s my opinion, there are others who disagree with me as well, I guess it’s a matter of taste as well..😅 Wow, you must be pretty exited then, waiting for a new machine! So you wasn’t happy with Liebherr?🙃 What didn’t you like? Hope that you will be satisfied by the 395 then, I’m very curious on how the 395 is myself!😅 I’m just waiting for an opportunity to try one out!🙃😄

    • @norwegianearthmovers
      @norwegianearthmovers  2 года назад +1

      @@ulrichhr I see.😅 Let’s hope the 395 turns out to be better then!🙃 I have only operated excavators with this configuration, never a front shovel. I can imagine that it’s nice in quarry operation, but I’m around at different construction sites.😄 So I guess that this kind of excavator is a bit more versatile than a front shovel.

    How do they make compaction with such large rock? Any mechanical compaction being done?

    • @norwegianearthmovers
      @norwegianearthmovers  3 года назад

      We run a compactor on the surfaces as soon as the dozer are done!👌
      The size of rock is regulated by the height of the layer we are building, and the layers are planned through the capacity of the compactor!
      There are guidelines for how many passes the compactor needs to run, and the compactor has sensors that makes it able to feel the grade of compaction underneath it.😋
      Passes and compaction grade are logged and stored in the compactor, both on gps and internal sensor measurements!🤙
