  • By far the most insane watch I've ever reviewed. The Citizen Promaster Professional Diver 1000m is just mental and even if you are not interested in it, you should see it in person. It has its cool factor for sure!

    A superb watch it certainly is.

    Thanks for the great review. I'm a commercial diver and use a DW5600 as a backup. However I previously used a Citizen "Ecozilla", Rolex Sub,Sinn,Tuna etc. The size does not really bother you once it's strapped over your wetsuit/drysuit.

    • @TheBoldHairspring
      @TheBoldHairspring  5 месяцев назад

      That's cool! Is it ok to press the buttons of the DW5600 under water?

      @@TheBoldHairspring I filled it with silicone oil, so depth and water pressure isn't a problem.

    Plain and simple it is meant to be worn by a professional diver who professionally dives. period!! not a watch enthusiast who has a small wrist and who doesn't use it primarily for it's intended use.

      I’d call that gatekeeping. If one likes it nothing should stop them from owning it. It’s a tool, yes, but it’s also an art form.

    Their proprietary name for the lume is “ Nautilite”.
    Best real world dive watch ever …..
    For the working diver Citizen is always in the equation.
    From Jp2000 ‘s , Ecozilla to this . …,my work watches .
    Great review, subbed ;)

    • @TheBoldHairspring
      @TheBoldHairspring  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the info and for the sub. Nautilite sounds cool 👌🏻. This one is too big for me but I resepct Citizen for making it. Overengineered in every possible way! I'd love to get the blue dial/yellow strap ecozilla, but those are not available in Spain...

    Thank you for this video; I agree with your overall assessment. I purchased this watch a year ago. I do not dive, and I like large-quality, overbuilt dive watches. I prefer a watch without a date window. I bought Zilla adaptors for it and added a nylon Nato strap. It wears better with the adaptor and nylon strap. It wears just fine without a diving suit.

    • @TheBoldHairspring

      You're welcome. Thanks for watching 😊. It's definitely not a watch for everyone but those who own it seem to really enjoy it.

    I own one, I like it and wear mine nearly daily. Sure it's a big one, but not too heavy. I mean it when I say this is the best dive watch you can get. JAMSTEC took one of these to like 6 km deep in the ocean with no problems.

    • @TheBoldHairspring
      @TheBoldHairspring  5 месяцев назад +2

      Oh, that's nice to know. Is there an article or something about JAMSTEC and that 6km deep dive that I can check out?

      If they really tok it down to 6000 meter, then Omega has some serious competition for their Planet Ocean Ultradeep.

    It's a great watch, but i took the strap off and put it on a Suppaparts adapter ring with a 26mm MN strap. It wears a lot smaller that way.

  • @IdeaStudioBKK
    @IdeaStudioBKK 5 месяцев назад +2

    That is a massive watch. As you know I prefer to wear a 36mm watch, but there is something about that watch which I really like. tho I am not a fan of watches with a date window. and I would much prefer a titanium braclet. its far too hot where I live to get on with anything else IMO.

    Do professional divers use this or a modern dive computer? Watch is ok for telling time but nothing more imo.

    • @sinepari9160
      @sinepari9160 5 дней назад

      You need a dive computer. "Dive" watches are marketed as a secondary mechanical reference if the computer fails.

    They're hilarious, I had the Eco Drive 48mm (The Ashtray) also called the EcoZilla, no bezel lock or subdial but huge, also had a titanium buckle on the strap which is a mistake as it scratches V easy. I sold it before it lost condition, being so big I was scared of knocking it all the time.

    • @TheBoldHairspring

    It’s jsur too ridiculous for anything other than extreme diving. Today, I don’t know anyone who would even consider using a watch to time dives. Even several years ago, all I saw were dive computers. Dive watches have become more of a style choice than actual diving tools.
