First handheld RP4P here. Omg, this vid and the webpage guide are INFINITELY helpful. In fact, so helpful that it helped me to know that it would work out for me even before I got the device. The robotic voice absolutely put it over the top for me. :D PS - I'm sure you don't need my paltry sub, but you got it anyway.
Best in-depth content out there. You always provide the quality stuff. One mention though: if you disable the screen lock, make sure that your google account is set to require authentication for each purchase. As anyone with access to your device (if it gets lost or stolen) has potential free reign in the google store if you have a payment method set up.
@@tundra75 Well, if you don't wanna spend too much and don't care much for Switch emulation, I'd say definitely get it. I love my Retroid Pocket 4 Pro, the build quality is amazing and it's by far the best handheld in my entire collection.

I had my Retroid 4 Pro for two weeks, and had it setup the the best way I could using my Retroid 3+ as a guide. However, this guide taught me way more than I thought possible. The issue I had was there are some features in the Retroid 3+ that didn't make it into the Retroid 4 Pro, but this guide helped lead me to fill in those gaps. Now I'm super happy to have my new Retroid 4 Pro look and feel like an upgraded version of my Retroid 3+. The missing ability to only need to hit the Home button once and adjusting the saturation was honestly killing me.

Those wondering about *Shipping time.* I *ordered* my RP4Pro 8 hours into Pre-Orders on *release day* December 21. On Friday January 19th I e-mailed Retroid, as I had not received _any_ communication after purchase. No receipt or tracking info etc... Monday Jan 22nd they replied "sorry for the late reply" they were off the weekend... "Please wait some working days"? Tuesday Jan 23 e-mail "your order is on the way" Wednesday Feb 7th Out For Delivery.
Over an hour!? WOW! GREAT! I really wish we had Odin tools for the Odin 1 and RP3, those performance profiles is something I wanted since I got my first Odin in 2022.

Can’t thank you enough for this. I got an Anbernic RG 353V and the SD cards died. I only had it 2 weeks before that happened. After realizing I wanted to load my own games and etc. I found this video, and now can’t wait for my pocket 4 pro!

I got my RP4 Pro and am loving it but a big portion of why i'm enjoying it so much is because of this guide. If i'd been left to bumble my way through all of this myself I'm certain i'd now be sitting here feeling like i'd just wasted $200.
My pro just showed up like a day or two after this video, and your guide made this all super seamless and easy. Everything is working well for me so far, even on emulating outside of this guide (I added the Pokémon mini because I somehow grew up with that thing and is fun to play for a few minutes). Thank you so much Russ. I hope everyone else will feel the way I do or similar with mine. Super happy with it, and this is coming from a 3+ owner. Much better improvement to me and worth it for those who wanna play GameCube. I can finally, actually play Kirby Air Ride again! lol
After 3 days, one of which included my expensive sd card failing on me (I was lucky I kept the receipt), I am FINALLY done with the setup of this device! Now I need a screen protector, cause I absolutely REFUSE to take this outside after all this work! Thank you very much Russ!
For anyone else confused about nintendo DS emulation, I have the paid version of drastic but when i tried to launch a game I got an error saying its encrypted and that I need to add a BIOS file to the drastic folder. I had to create a drastic folder and add this to the root of my SD card, next in the general settings i changed my system directory to be this folder. Then I was able to add my bios files to the system folder created here. Might be worth adding this to the guide!
Dude I had no idea about this either 😅, now I have it and Im going thru this process, my problem is I don't know where to get the bios and games and they never tell you where, they always say I should know haha.

PLEASE HELP: I got the Obtainium installed and I got obtainium-export (which is more updated, has a list of 13 now, but it missing Citra and Yuzu). When I try to install OdinTools it says errors occured, could not get ID from APK. This video just seems so outdated. I can't do manual downloads either, I cant find aethersx2

Only one thing, people clicked on dislike for the video.... what the... how can you dislike it, I honestly cant see what there can be to dislike in a video where someone creates a tutorial you basically get for free to help set up your device, and get the best out of it.
I have one coming on Monday and honestly I cant wait. II would've done an Odin 2 but i think at that price point the next thing I'll do is an Ally. I'm just hoping NFS underground and some of the old Gundam games for PS2 work well on this thing. SS3 too!

It takes a lot of work. But in the end it's worth it. It's very versatile.

Citra and Yuzu are no longer available. (Which he stated on his written guide). OdinTools downloaded for me (13th of august, so it might on your end.
You’ll need the internet ;) to find the aethersx2 emulator. It’s no longer being supported or hosted by the original developer.
