We lived in LWR for 3yrs, didn’t care for it at all, understatement. Everything we liked to do was near downtown, Siesta, Lido, St Armands, Long Boat, etc. It’s a no fun drive from LWR, especially if you do it often. We sold and purchased a property ‘West of the Trail’, couldn’t be happier here, love it!

I am so glad you found an area you love. I agree you really need to know what lifestyle you want when buying a home. Lots of research! Thanks for watching.

I like the small town feel of Lakewood Ranch. Similar to New Canaan in CT. But I love visiting Sarasota and the beaches. I do though, prefer the non-cookie cutter homes in Sarasota over Lakewood Ranch. Especially because I grew up in CT and that is what I am used to. But in the end - we chose Lakewood Ranch. We do love it here.

Thanks for the comment...we are in NJ thinking of coming down and the struggle is real in terms of both options. How has your experience been with driving to the beach? Is the time it takes dependent on traffic/time of day? Is it fair to day in general its 30 minutes? Thanks!

We lived in Lakewood Ranch for over a Year. Our division was Savannah. If you like living with big trucks and rednecks, you will love that part of Lakewood Ranch. If not, move to Sarasota.

Another great video and very insightful info .... I know people in LWR but don't spend a great deal of time up there ...
Enjoyed the video ... really didn't know much about manufactured housing. We live in the 34237 zip and are amazed at the number of houses being purchased and turned into airbnb's. In fact most of the investors in our area are Mennonites. Very savvy investors who are buying up half-million-dollar mid-sized homes and making $60,000 a year as airbnb's.

Hi Lisa- I'm a big fan of your videos. I want to refer you to a friend of mine in Fort Myers. He's looking to move into Sarasota and ask me if I knew someone. What's the best way for him to contact you? Steve

I think for families with school age children who are also gifted, living in Lakewood Ranch will not qualify them to be accepted by full time gifted Pine View School, many doctors, lawyers are relocating to Sarasota only just for their children to attend Pine View School, they never consider moving to Lakewood Ranch for kids education purposes, for older folks without children, Lakewood Ranch might be a better choise with more modern amenities, I think. I think you should emphasize the importance of Pine View School in Sarasota (Palmer Ranch) that attracting thousands of professionals to decide to relocate to palmer Ranch, not Lakewood Ranch!
