I'm very confused about why Ava is annoyed at Mailin... From what I gathered she joined in during a chant and Ava is angry because?? Idk I could've read the subs wrong so some clarification would be great haha
Edit* I rewatched the scene and basically, Ava thinks Mailin didn't understand the weight of the words she was using ("I can't breathe) and she's upset because she thinks Mailin won't understand because it will never happen to her. But that still doesn't warrant Ava acting like this??
@stream given-taken yeah i thought it was a race thing but from what ava described it sounded like EVERYONE at the protest was doing it. But I agree it would annoy me too if nobody told me why what I did was wrong and she does need to just explain
Yeah I was a bit confused as well. I interpreted it as everyone was participating but Ava was singling Mailin out. But if it was just her saying it, I can understand that ava’s upset
@Maya Raman Yeah i know what you mean by constantly having to answer questions (as an LGBTQ+ person) but you cannot be angry at them if they don't know theyve done something wrong. mailin just wants to fix her mistake and eva really isnt helping her. imo its worse for her to keep it from mailin because her bugging will become more persistant and stressful.
I don't expect Ava to explain racism to Mailin either, but Mailin didn't even know why ava is angry/mad at her. And ava constantly being passive aggressive towards Mailin started before the protest. Mailin already wanted to smooth things out and better their relationship and came with her to the protest bc the others didn't had time.
Druck should have gave us extra clips of them at the protest or just a ava pov clip to make us understand her thinking and feelings. We're just getting pieces here and there and are confused

Gotcha. So, Kieu My is friends with Constantin and Ismail, who all bullied Ava when she was younger. Additionally, after Nora and Constantin broke up in season 5, she and the whole friend group weren’t nice to Nora and her friends. That’s why people aren’t super fond of Kieu My, at least right now
