+AlexRed95 you can save all of them if you choose them to do the right job in the second game and gave them alive if you do all the special secondary missions in the third
+majorevangelism Amen! And No one should play ME 3 without an importedME1 and ME 2 character + all squadmates alive imported !!! Or you're gonna miss some really cool things...
My favorite DLC ever. Love how they made jokes about their own characters and how they "refreshed" the relationships between you and your crew. I'm also a huge Tali fan and I love the way she behaves in this DLC. She was as adorable, funny and awesome as always, especially when she got drunk at the party. I hope some of the ME3 crew will be back in ME4,at least Garrus and Tali. They're like my favorite characters and they stay loyal to you throughout the whole trilogy..
Mass Effect 3 is so much less without Citadel. I feel sorry for those who deemed it "too expensive" or didn't buy it because "micro transactions suck". This DLC is those transactions made so fucking worth it. It's funny and touching. Such a great addition.
Indeed. I was expecting disaster given the ending debacle and Leviathan/Omega DLC. In the end, Citadel was one of the finest DLCs I've ever seen. Brilliant in every respect, and an acceptable apology. :)
There's a reason Javik is considered the oldest Troll in the Galaxy. I liked how he and Zaeed get along to the point Javik thinks he might be a prothean in disguise.
You too huh. The description for the DLC is the same way: Mass Effect 3: Citadel offers one final chance to see the characters you have known for years and rekindle romances
Freaking loved this DLC. In a way, this is the happy ending we never got; where everything ended just right, where we got to fight one epic battle with all of our old friends, and where we had the best freaking party in a video game EVER. Seriously. Garrus and Zaeed trying to booby trap the apartment had me nearly pee myself I was laughing so hard. -sigh- freaking love Mass Effect...
The best DLC, for any game. Ever. Citadel is a job so well done, there is so much enthusiasm and effort and passion in it. That reached to people, it touched them. I feel like it is an alternative part of my life, as if I've lived in that apartment, that all these characters are my real friends. I've cried and laughed. Even now my sight is getting blurry. I'm forever grateful for that experience. If the upcoming Andromeda manages to grasp even a spark of the brilliance of this it will be an amazing success. Hats down, BioWare: every writer, developer, actor, composer, everyone.
It's funny, when you mention mass effect 3 as a game you love there is always some idiot that goes on and on about the ending. Ready to dismiss this game and throw it on a pike of garbage, this acting as if this expansion NEVER EXISTED!. BUT it's hard to defend as the official sending even though it is because Bioware made it an expansion. So there is that ethical thing about, "paying for the actual ending". There is the dilemma that's hard to argue/defend. This was a masterpiece.
I wish we had a full 30 hour game that was just this. These are probably the best characters I've ever come across in gaming and I'm still sad the story is over.
I feel like people really should appreciate this DLC more. Well, this is my favorite DLC of all time. It focus a lot at the characters, and you get reunited with them all, it's funny and the romance parts are pretty adorable too :3 It's like a goodbye gift, because we won't see Shepard anymore (hopefully, not because I don't like Sheppard, but because a game doesn't always need happy ending, and the ME3 endings was fucking depressing, but good). And a tip: Play it after finishing Priority: Horizon c;
I choose to play it after the ending, when it jumps back to the save point right before Cerberus Headquarters. Playing it anywhere else feels like a weird shift of tone.
Yea I tried playing after the ending but it just felt weird, although I always get the destroy ending with high enough ems to *SPOILER ALERT* survive. Maybe I'll try it again, just that the references to the war felt a bit off. Maybe it'll help provide more closure, idk.
Huge mass effect fan, since the first to the last and all the dlc's, its my favorite universe and my favorite game series of all time, after countless playthroughs, that last bit at 2:12 always makes me emotional, it was an honor. Bring on the 4th game and please, do not fuck it up.

Anyone else just want Citadel 2? It could be it`s own game or independent DLC for all i care. Seriouselly i could have 100 hours "game" of Citadel 2. This is all just so golden. Just need to make it non-canon so it could include Mordin and all other golden goodies.
Rewatching this 8 years later, even with the announcement of a continuation of the Trilogy... this still hits the feels. At the time, the last content of our crew and our Shepard... just wow. Sure, the DLC was pure fan service but damn if it wasn't just right.
Watching people experience the ME trilogy for the first time is great. I still find people playing it for the first time, even in 2020. When they finally reach the Citadel DLC, and seeing their reactions to it, reminds me of why Mass Effect still has a strong fanbase. People loved the characters and the storytelling. I'll be first in line for Legendary Edition.
i wished they had made so you could have used Legion, Thane and Mordin in the Combat arena(seriously, just say that they are VI's of them and then just use their powers from ME2 in ME3) i miss my Legion/Tali set up (T_T). Then also, another thin that annoyed me was(this might be some small spoilers so avoid if you are touchy) that Mordin gets his Logs shown after the party and you have an memorial for Thane, yet Legion isn't meantion anytime in the whole DLC, atleast on line would made me happy, i seriously miss my Geth friend, second favorite after Tali.
I'm here from replaying it again in 2018. Not only does it still hold, but I can't remember any piece of DLC that was worth getting more then Citadel. It was a love letter to the whole trilogy, and a fun adventure in it's own right, that made the entire experience a blast even 5 years later. Mass Effect 3, and the series as a whole, are lesser without it, and it is clear the team made it with a lot of love and care.

Mass Effect is such an amazing series. It just pulls you in. I’m playing it again and I accidentally started the Citadel missions before I wanted to because I forgot it starts after you check your messages. I’m now contemplating starting back over at a save before I went to the apartment so I can place it better in the mission flow cause I’m near the end. It’s just perfection
The Extended Cut and backround provided by Leviathan makes the ending make so much sense to me that it's actually really good. Trust me, I used to hate the ending, but the more thought I put into it the more I like it. It actually makes a lot of sense.
one of the best DLC's to ever grace gaming, not sure if i've ever laughed so much and enjoyed character interactions as much as I did, you don't even feel like your squad are NPC's, they feel like they're your friends
Great ideas! This series was one of the best ever, like Zelda, Metal Gear, Mario, The Elder Scrolls, Shenmue, etc. Its like the best game series abruptly end, when they should be opening new chapters. Mass Effect was like a dream series for me, great setting, great characters, solid gameplay, and Sci fi Rpg's don't come around that often.
Such a wonderful dlc. All of it tying together the decisions made over the previous 2 games and to top it all off, you get a family photo to remember it all. Beautiful
First DLC I got for ME3, loved every second of it. Using the save data from my first playthrough made it even better. Fantastic way to wrap up 3's expansions.
I loved Mass effect, I watched my Shepard go from Executive Officer to Spectre as he took down the most fearsome foes while everyone trembled in their boots. So what if I wanted a good ending for Shepard? He/She fucking earned it if you spent all those hours trying to get the best endings and keep everyone alive. I agree with what you said with companies doing what fans want but this trilogy deserved a happy ending. I would have loved an ending where Garrus and Him/her are drinking on a beach.
Definitely my favourite span of missions in the trilogy. Gave me chills every time there was a shot of the whole crew fighting together, as well as the hilarious and self-aware comedy.
And about 6 years went by just "like that". Several times walkthrough this trilogy, remember many conversation, more than one situation - funny or some kinda dangerous with characters, friends that will always be in my heart.
This DLC came out a few days before my mother died, and it's safe to say playing through it a few times helped keep me afloat in the week or so afterwards. Can't believe it's nearly 6 years old.
EDI after the long version party. "some neihbour came by last night and complained about the sound. I've put their body in the incinerator of the building". I laughed so hard.
Yes. Not just for the gameplay but all the other things that happen in it - talking to your crew, revisiting old friends, things that go on in the background (conversations npcs have about multiplayer stuff)
my pc is uber slow so I had more time to consider my comment and the dialogue was hilarious at points and touching at others and it takes real skill as a writer to make a person become attached to a collection of pixels, the arena is a nice touch and it allowed the player to reconnect with their ME1/2 squad and the encounters were wonderful and it added a new level of depth to a cast of already well-written complex characters
no, please.. look at "movies" they became from game scenarios.. 9 out of 10 is unwatchable shit.. i hope this planned movie will never come, because i think ppls they never played ME will call this game shit after saw movie.. just look in history, you know any REALLY good movie from game? last years i remember aliens vs. predator.. that was supershit... what else.. maybe silent hill (first)... but this is only one rly good movie created by game..
I wanted the Citadel DLC to never end...
DonDiego256 I think that goes for all of us. The last great adventure before the end of the world... why would anyone want to leave?
Unfortunately it ended
Same here. Couldn't agree more
The DLC is too good for a simple soul like me.

Best DLC in a video game ever

Oh, wait, really? My Javik teamed up wit Wrex to shoot bottles... inside the house.
There's a reason Javik is considered the oldest Troll in the Galaxy.
I liked how he and Zaeed get along to the point Javik thinks he might be a prothean in disguise.

It's just...perfection..
This dlc was truly a farewell love letter to the series that has brought to much enjoyment to so many!
Finished this dlc 11 times and still get enough. Now you see how good this is.
That moment when the Normandy was saved by a toothbrush.
Happy N7 Day my fellow Commanders! I'm Commander Garcia, and this is my favorite DLC of the Citadel.
I had wrex with me during that part. "Why shoot a guy just once, when you can shoot him 46 more times" -Wrex
Excellent. I'm so glad you commented, now everyone can know the good news. Pouting is so much fun, isn't it?
The music from the trailer is so aptly named: The End of an Era...
Yes. Not just for the gameplay but all the other things that happen in it - talking to your crew, revisiting old friends, things that go on in the background (conversations npcs have about multiplayer stuff)
Fantastic mission! Great job guys, and thank you for this one last adventure with my crew!
This DLC was so amazing, I wasn't expecting it to be this good.
my pc is uber slow so I had more time to consider my comment and the dialogue was hilarious at points and touching at others and it takes real skill as a writer to make a person become attached to a collection of pixels, the arena is a nice touch and it allowed the player to reconnect with their ME1/2 squad and the encounters were wonderful and it added a new level of depth to a cast of already well-written complex characters
Mass Effect Needs A Movie!!!
no, please.. look at "movies" they became from game scenarios..
