As an African American I can tell you what I think about south africans 1. Hard working 2. Open minded 3. Intelligent 4. Honest 5. Survivors 6. Warriors
Black Americans are very influential. I am a South African currently in Russia and I was shocked to realise the Black American influence and how they love them here. Black Americans are admire everywhere in the world 🤷🏽♂️
In the 1930s some black Americans settled in Russia to escape U.S. racism. Russians saw U.S. workers as skilled and posessing knowledge of modern agriculture and industry. There was even a propanda Russian movie about a white woman escaping to Russia with her mixed race half black baby and the Russians were so loving and accepting of him.
I’m a Nigérien in China and im shocked to realize the black Americans influence in east Asia South Korea has a whole music culture based on black american music (K-pop) Jpop in japan, hip hop trap scene in China. They culturally conquered the world.
Of course Black Americans have to be very influential in the whole wide world considering the fact that even in the white racist America they still built it with their genius expertise while the white Americans were only the ones taking credit for it. Long before the end of slavery Black Americans were always influential and yet still hated and discriminated against just because they were Black. Even today the influence of Black Americans isn't just music or entertainment and yet still White America would portray itself as if they're the ones on top. Clearly the USA would have never been anything of what it is today without the Black Americans who also built it from the start, and yet they still treat Black Americans like nothing in the USA.
Visited South Africa a couple of months ago and it was an experience of a lifetime. I must say I love Soweto the most because I barely seen the boars there. We did the safari in Pilanesburg, visited Nelson Mandela's jail cell at Constitution Hill, Aparthied Museum, Robben Island,
Oh man you're making me miss hooome! I'm a South African living in South Korea and I get to interact with many AA's. In Asia black ppl are the minority so when we see each other, we get excited and acknowledge one another which is a great reminder of our sameness and shared experiences of simply being black.
What I have found about African Americans when I have travelled to the United States is that there is a tendency to look down on Africa and have a reluctant surprise when you show them what it’s like - for example, the fact that we are developed or show them where and how we live. There is a perception that some African Americans have about Africa that they are happy to have so that they can say to themselves, ‘At least I am not African’. They don’t make an effort to know about more about the continent. On the other hand you have those who are extremely curious about Africa and have a genuine and profound love for it. Although you also have some who think that when they are here they are doing us a favour and we can only learn from them and there is nothing they can learn from us. But they often quickly realise that there is a lot for them to learn. There is also a distinct difference between those who have travelled and those who have not. They are a lot more open and I appreciate them. Those who have travelled are much more open and are friendlier. Strangely, when I am in the United States, I find it a lot easier to interact with people of other races instead of African Americans which is rather disappointing.
The one’s that come to visit Africa aren’t as closed minded. That’s why they come here. The one’s who look down on Africans wouldn’t even come to Africa.
I think it has a lot to do with the people from the continent that they've interacted with before and also the knowledge that some of them are warned not to associate with Black Americans when they get to the states. I see it as a defense mechanism. I was actually shocked to find out that they think we don't like them and call them names.
I concur Khaya. I am South African based in the USA and I have found it way easier to befriend and interact with other races as African Americans are not as embracing. The few one's that were open minded are those who have traveled thus more aware of the reality around the world. Mind you my ex husband is African American but I found that even his family were unwilling to be objective and unlearn preconceived ideas about the continent and its people.
And I just love their attitude to life . They are outgoing and willing to try new things and new experiences. They are also so positive in their thinking. This is why they'd gel well with South Africans...they love life and just want to do better ♥️ I love that about them ♥️

It would be interesting to know what white South Africans think about black Americans...Don't know if that is something you would want to explore? As a South African I never met a AA before, I did however meet a lot of "other Americans". So to my AA brothers and sisters, we want to meet you. The time is now for all of us to unite and build together.
I worked with a lot of AA in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and now the UAE, in my experience aggressive and belligerent AAs are the new arrivals (first time out of the US), and after a few months they calm down and realize the rest of the world is actually kind, caring and most people get along.

I am from Eritrea, but moved to Europe at the age of 16. When I was in Eritrea, if we see any foreigner who came from other country (except Ethiopia), we use to think of them as rich, celebrity, nice, fun... we want to befriend them. If any foreigner came to our school, they use to get so popular, it doesn't matter if they are black/white/brown. In our country we don't know what's black/white/racism/race, we have never thought about it (never!), although bright skin is considered beauty in my country, there is no discrimination, religion/culture/tribe can be important though during marriage. We don't have internet in our country so we have no awareness of racism, we don't know that our black sisters/brothers are suffering racism by white people in other country everyday. We have TV but we only see the good/nice side of America (movies/channels). I only knew the true side of Europe when i move out my country.
My dear, you are not being honest. There's a lot of Ethiopians in South Africa and most of them think they're better than Africans. There's even a video here on RUclips of an Ethiopian young man who believes Ethiopians are white and that they only look black because their faces got burnt. The weirdest and funniest thing I've ever heard, but someone must've taught him that 😂
Interesting video. Also I think you should do a part 2 but interview the younger generation (people between ages 18 - 30) , you'll get some interesting answers.

As a Jamaican of Afrikan heritage: I believe that the invasion of the Southern Kingdom in the 1600s scattered the people, of which many fled into the northern regions. It is very possible and highly likely that a lot of the people captured and sold into slavery were people taken from amongst these people seeking refuge outside their natural homeland. I’m African. I’m blessed-I travel a lot , I wish African Americans would realise how much influence they have all over the world. They had Dave Chapelle graffiti in the middle of my friends village in Poland.
That’s beautiful! Thank you for your comment! ✨🙏🏽🥰🫶🏽
First off I love your interviews. I feel like you touched on a. great topic and you got some of the best responses from the ordinary people. Not getting information from high end people. The two ladies having a braai stand on the street and the last gentleman were my favorite. He had a lot more to say but overall this is great content 🤗🤗🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Gratitude! ✨🫶🏽💕🥰
As a Sowetan I love and appreciate all Black people throughout the diaspora,we are one people share the same journey, history and future hence black people all over the world are still angry about George Floyd,Breanna Taylor and how black people in general are treated the world over.
I enjoyed every bit of the video. I really want to visit such a beautiful country, we black Caribbean kept a lot from our african fathers; everything is the same to me 😁 (except the language). I feel so nostalgic. I would love a part two Queen!
Thank you for the kind words. Ok. I’m definitely considering it. 😃✨🙏🏽

Great video sis, my family is relocating this December to Jozi and I cannot wait. I loved our time there and the people so much
How did it go?
@@delayon3976 oh girl it’s gone great, we’ve been here for 8 months now. And have applied for residency

That last interview he had more to say but hey, we are one big family but we not perfect
Aggressive and belligerent?
I like the content of your video, I have had the opportunity to travel to a few differnt countries in Africa. But you mention growing up in South Florida and I was like OMG. I am from Richmond Heights.
Thank you. Keep doing you Thang Thang sis. I don't know if I would get to interviewing people on my channel persay but I love to see your journey. Keep up the great work!
Great content and welcome to south africa 🇿🇦 🙏🏿
Yes it's honestly exciting seeing Americans here live with their accent and not only on tv
Great video. I also like that your video is raw and on the streets. Much love sister

When Tom called you Mama it's not because you spent money, that's how you get called by South African men as a way of endearment.
I know that, I was being funny dear ✨
what term of endearment is used by women toward the South African men?

The weirdest and funniest thing I've ever heard, but someone must've taught him that 😂
Wow thank you for shearing love this 🖤❤️💚
This was a great vid seeing interaction with SAs 🙌🏽
They think America is all that, anyway 🙈🙈🙈 so far I've met very friendly Americans who love learning about different cultures.
So excited to be traveling here in a week. Looking forward to placing my feet on the soil of my ancestors.

Interesting video. Also I think you should do a part 2 but interview the younger generation (people between ages 18 - 30) , you'll get some interesting answers.

Hello! welcome to SA
🥰✨🫶🏽💕
Kiki: "What do you think about me, as your experience with a black American?"
Bongani: "No, You COOL!"
🤣🤣🤣
Black people in America do sound like they speaking fast when they are in the Caribbean and in Africa
😂
Fast and loud.
Wouldn't say that, American accent sounds like it's made like codes that need to be decoded, Too much slang, teh way yall pronounce certain words is like yall don't even pause or something specially the Texas Accent. The British one is better to understand for me..
@@trayway3014 It the same for us when we newly arrived in America. People would say hold up you speaking to fast, but I experienced it first hand when some visited from the United States,it wasn't embarrassing but rather kind of intriguing

When are you coming to Cape Town? I'd like to see your experience in my city.

Americans are free here in SA.
Nothing feels as good as freedom. And it's cheaper here, kinda like Malaysia. You get the same good quality of life for much less.
And we South Africans are welcoming and friendly, more like Thailand.
I remembered one black American asking me if we still live on the tree and wear clothes in Africa and also do we have lions on the street of Africa, I just told her she should try and visit to find out
I'm for that movement ❤
Great interview
How do you feel about South Africa in comparison to Tanzania, asking for a group of us !!

We welcome African Americans. Stronger together, dived apart. Much Love
Another interesting and educational video.
I wish we can have a safe haven for Blacks in General❣
Enjoyed the content
South Africans are actually people that really love black Americans and I can see a lot of similarities between I think they have a lot in common in terms they struggles are the same and black Americans are the ones who gave South Africans the power to fight it's juat some of the young black Americans that don't know their history that would blindly hate Africans on the other hand a lot of African countries are very ignorant of black Americans and South Africans that is the truth one other thing is the Coloured group in South Africa hate black Africans but love black americans simply because they were told by the white apartheid government in 1983 that they were second class and blacks were last and they were given the right to vote so they see themselves better that blacks here in South Africa and talk about the majority
Mna I just wish ukuthi bebesithanda ngalendlela esibathanda ngayo. Ndihlala nabo apha-Emelika kodwa abana-buntu.

@@TheQueenKiTravels it’s ok, to me Jozie is like any other major city, nyc or Paris or Frankfurt. Nice and mean ppl mixed in everywhere. I still had a great time.
where were you in SA cause most ppl working in hospitality are from here espcl in Cape Town ,South Africans will never give you bad attitude unless you started
@@sibusisosimama7501 I was in Johannesburg. I am definitely not the type to start or give any attitude. Especially when I’m not on my own home turf. I said hello to ppl on the street, was completely ignored, smiled and said hello before placing an order and was met with eye rolls, I could go on. Legit hostility and I’m still trying to figure out why. At the end of the day, I really don’t care, I’ll never see these ppl again but I know hostility when I’m met with it.
@@sibusisosimama7501 I was about to say the same thing. South Africans are snubbed out of jobs in the hospitality and tourism industry. You'll be lucky if you interact with a native South African in those industries. They're rarely hired, we actually intentionally get snubbed out of a lot of jobs where the boers have ownership. The public sector is our biggest employer hence they're trying to destroy it in favour of the private sector, so that they can further marginalize us. South Africa has a book full of issues but trust and believe a REAL South African is typically friendly, open and welcoming not all rude or mean
Is it only Joburg pips who are bombarded with American content?
Cause we know a lot about black Americans, a lot!

'A net that is cast will most likely draw in all types of fish'. How else would my roots as a descendant of Afrikan slaves, lead to a small city in Zambia colonized by British settlers?
Welcome welcome home family this is whr you belong regadless of your financial status we love you guys.
