I thought so too but it does make sense, it's the last song off a jam album where every song is like 8-10 mins long. I think people just listen for Magma + Lava and skip the rest.

It’s such a beautiful song, I can only listen to it when I feel my best so I can fully absorb it without getting used to it

The altered beast saga is criminally low, some of these placements got me questioning the other gizz heads 🤨
The Murder of the Universe saga is even lower
i think the saga not being contained in a single song made them not included indie rock playlists, while some other songs mix better (e.g. sense, work this time, slow jams etc)

Honestly, what a band. So prolific in quality music. Theres something for everyone with these guys. Its so cool how you get paper mache songs right next to rats nest songs. Two completely different genres probably listened to by different people, but both as pipular by their own fans. Its so cool that each persons favourites might be completely different to anothers. Man they are just so fun.

Lonely Steel Sheet Flyer is the least played Quarters song but it’s been my number one song on Spotify for like the past three years 😂

Never had this confirmed but I’m pretty sure it’s when people listen to it twice in a row, since it counts as 30 seconds of play?

With all the love I hold towards Eyes Like the Sky, because I agree that it's a great album, it very much is not one of their best

it was added to spotify a lot later than most of their other albums
The thing about that is that when you go to listen to music, you probably won’t listen to an audiobook instead. Audiobooks just take so much more concentration

Have you heard any of the live versions of the song. The studio version feels so empty without the guitar solo/jam section they do every time they play it live.
It was just in a massive playlist I think. I doubt it's many people's favourite song.
it's a good song but i imagine it only got those plays bc it's some pretty inoffensive chill indie that gets put in a lot of playlists. a lotta times the tracks that do the biggest numbers on spotify r the ones ppl give the least of a shit about
