I think the Jeep XJs are the best place to start any project from mud to rocks to sand... There easy to find and not to pricey to buy and build..

Xjs are stupid priced right now. Ok with me. I got a 99 classic.
Those prices are only going up.. I bought my 96 sport xj for 2k . now in this area they are about double that .. And mine came with nearly 180k miles . shes now 240k and still bucking
I always preferred the ZJ Grand Cherokee's over the XJ's. Both cool, I just love the styling and ease of doing a little lift to get some decent aggressive tires on 'em..

Combs died after crashing a jet-powered high-speed race car in southeastern Oregon while attempting to better her own four-wheel land speed record. She was posthumously awarded the female land-speed world record by Guinness in June 2020

This is the first thing I've ever seen Combs in, and I already love her. Glad she made the most of the time she was given, tragically short though it was.

Oof, they tore everything down in the front end, and didn’t bother to swap in some heavy duty ball joints and new ujoints. Or even a wheel bearing for peace of mind. That old thing must been worn
First performance mod I did on my XJ was pull out that damn door ajar buzzer. Best mod ever.
What year xj do you have, because my 01 doesn’t have a buzzer or if it does it doesn’t work
@@kyranboldt2079 Mine is a '93. It's this round thing near some fuses and relays just above the pedals.
I think it changed from a BUZZ to a BEEP in '97.. not sure which one is more annoying 😂

man you can still get them. They run forever that 35 might be five now though inflation and shit. But if you're going to do that many mods you might as well get one a little more beat up. I paid $2,000 for a Cherokee limited though back in 2001!

The video has a problem. The ratio is bad and makes everything shorter and wider. I know neither Ian or Jessie are tall, but they are not that wide. I tried cinema mode, but it's it's not enough.
If I leave in a headliner, I'll try not to make burn holes haha
Cant find the shocks anywhere
@@bmstylee Fabtech does not have any shock listed for an XJ on their site. They probably have another shock they used for this racing series but didn't cross reference it for the XJ. And since the show didn't mention any 'real' specifics there is no way to find out what shock to buy. Unless you find a friendly Jeeper willing to share the secret...
@@005elise Fox and King make solid shocks as well. These episodes are near 20 years old some of them. Technology for something as simple as a bypass shock has evolved substantially. However specs are not necessarily helpful given each build is different and what they have may not fit your needs.

Why didn't they use a sport model not a nice clean and I emphasize clean 95 or 96 classic or limited model and ruined it

I think this video is like 10 years old.
But, there is an even easier way to do this. Simply inherit lots of money, buy a shop with a hired mechanic. Find an old jeep, pay your mechanic. Whew, all that work.
