I will never get over Dallas’s scene, gives me chills everytime. His actor definitely should’ve been given more noteworthy scenes

Dave’s acting when his fling got hit by the car was really good and it showed he could do emotional acting. The writers could’ve done so much with him. SMH

i hardly ever see anyone give dylan everett praise for how well he portrayed cam you can really feel his agony just pouring through the screen
he was amazing in that role!
He is one of the best actors on the show and I can't watch that season because God it broke me. The Cam arc really affected me as someone who suffers from multiple mental illnesses.
And Craig’s performance with him and his dad on the street, blew me away, it was so powerful because he finally stood up for himself
Omg seriously! I still cry every time Sean stopped Craig on the train tracks and when Joey asked if Craig's dad beat him. OMG the tears!!
Jake Epstein is definetely one of the best actors to come to Degrassi. So many great scenes.

@@tangiechapman6219 Apparently he's done some good stage work since Degrassi but he's been in some popular media too like Designated Survivor, Suits, Umbrella Academy, The Hardy Boys. Sure mainly recurring roles but he hasn't fallen of the map or anything

I showed my friend some scenes of him on degrassi and he always cringed every time Drake was on screen he thought he was corny because he only ever knew him as an rapper.Honestly Drake was a good actor but I am glad he is an artist now especially his early work.

Munro (Eli) ate in every scene. Best actor on the whole show, IMO. When he broke down to his dad about how it could have been him in the greenhouse, I lost it. Demetrius (Dallas) was unreal in Bittersweet Symphony and Jahmil (Dave) was always great. Olivia (Maya) breaking down in Zombie was great too.

Jake Epstein was pretty fucking phenomenal on Degrassi. I think he was the best actor by far. His portrayal as a teen living with bipolar disorder living with an abusive father is amazing. Shoutout to Stacey Farber (Ellie). She was also given some heavy heavy scenes and hits at our emotions every single time. Shenae Grimes also turned in a literal-award winning performance as Darcy, especially in season seven.

dallas’ reaction hit especially hard for me . i lost a friend to suicide back in 2019 and my guilt turned into anger almost exactly like that. great acting

I also lost a friend in 2015 she mentioned she was done and not to say anything I flipped out in class like Dallas did when a guy asked me if I wanted or had a peace of gum I remember looking at him saying my best friend is dead and all you care about is gum. Years of anger and guilt I'm also sorry for your loss.
One thing that I know about watching Degrassi is that you are going to get a recycled story line. Death of a character, abortion/pregnancy/having a kid, mental health, sexual assault, abusive father, sexuality/coming out/same sex relationships. The list goes on. What I can appreciate about this is that each story being told is different and unique to the characters storyline.
Teens go through the same thing, but handle it differently. That’s what I loved with Degrassi.
That’s because it’s an endless cycle in real life too. Lost a couple classmates, most of them due to violence, a lot of teen pregnancies or abortions, STDs and assault, strange teachers, talks of abuse, bullying, drug use, failed teen relationships. Only thing I personally never experienced was a school shooter

It was a good scene but Olivia was kinda stiff and monotone. She still delivered the line good though but she needed a bit more emotion 😭
@@luistorres513 I thought the lack of emotion was the point. I feel like they portrayed her depression as numbness, and after Cam's death they really focused on how she didn't show enough emotion (like immediately asking if she could skip class to focus on cello practice for her audition, iirc) and it was everybody else telling her she should be feeling or showing more emotion.
Of course your interpretation is totally valid! I just thought it was... purposeful on her part.

We all just gonna forget the scene when Maya breaks down in front of her mom and Katie after cam died and she screams “I HATE HIM I HATE HIM I DIDNT EVEN GET TO SAY BYE”
That scene broke my heart.
Some of the worst acting on the show, unfortunately. But she absolutely nailed the scene in this video talking about the old Maya, it's SCARY good.

Eli & Craig tie for best imo for males definitely. Thor characters felt so so so so real. Like Real life people.
Dallas’s is definitely very close imo bc at the time I was like “man who’s this new guy on Degrassi” but THIS scene proved to me he had depth as an actor. They could’ve did a lot with his story bc when he first came on the show I thought his acting wasn’t as good for Degrassi but I grew to love him. Rip Jahmil

Dallas acting was so spot on it was so powerful I can tell he felt guilty to for being Cam to me that made up for what he did it was one of the powerful scenes in Degrassi Rest In Peace Cam.🙏

Jake Epstein made me feel seen when the character of Craig started and especially with the bipolar disorder storyline cuz I have bipolar myself and nothing about his manic acting felt fake. Munro too. Bipolar disorder definitely makes a person go through so many emotions it’s crazy sometimes living with it.
same here! i have bipolar 2 so i don’t experience mania to the extreme they do but i definitely felt seen by their characters and performances
The scene with Alli and Dallas about Cam has so many layers to it even outside of Degrassi. Both of them had previously acted with him on their own shows. Demetrius and Dylan were in a show called Wingin It where Demetrius was Dylan's guardian angel and I knew of both of them from that show and was so excited to see them both together on Degrassi. Before that show Dylan and Melinda were costars on a show called How To Be Indie that ended just before Melinda started on Degrassi
I found out they were on Wingin It a couple weeks ago and I understood their chemistry more than ever, they had great scenes

The last scene with Eli really hit close to home especially as I rewatch those episodes as an adult with more life experiences than I did as a teen when this came out
0:01 - Seriously triggered me how immature and ignorant they were talking about Cam’s suicide. I honestly teared up watching Dallas hurting over their talk. I completely felt that scene cause I’ve been around people who don’t watch what they say. You just never know what someone is going through and if they’ve tried attempting that act 😞 Mental illness is real!
One performance that always stayed with me was Craig and Ashley doing The Taming of the Shrew. It was an early scene, but the presentation was phenomenal.
Thank you for including that Dave scene, I break down every single time I see it. He was such a great actor fr and should've been used more! RIP to Jahmil

This has way too many scenes from the later seasons and nothing about the amazing stuff from early on. Like when Emma met her father for the first time, the acting between her reaction to him and his acting of being mentally disturbed was really good. Also I hated Darcy but she did a great job acting suicidal.

All of these scenes ate. They’re all so good and they shock me every time I see them. Even if I’m so silent, I should have them committed to memory by now.
That scene of Maya where she says she can’t do anything anymore broke my heart. Maya is one of those characters we really watched grow up on this show and you become attached to someone like her so seeing her like that is heartbreaking. Whether you like or dislike her, you know her. You’ve watched her for years and seeing her in a state like that is terrifying, Olivia Scriven did an outstanding job
Why is no one talking about Cassie Steele’s performance at 5:13? This is one of the few scenes that I really felt.

I really like that they showed J ay Alex and spinner all growing as people and not just being an asshole or a bully to everybody else... About the character developments but was much needed
Daniel Clark's performance in that scene with Sean's parents makes me feel bad he didn't stick around after that episode in season 4. He had such good range as an actor.

That cam scene was so sad because cam was constantly crying out for help no one stepped up also he had no real family or friends with him in a new place and school then the show kinda dismissed his suicide storyline pretty early too, I will forever be mad at the storyline he was one of my favs

blew me away when Miles give a speech to me about his dad and jimmy’s speech blew me away about he doesn’t deserve to be in a wheelchair that Rick shot him in the first place and he die after that he does deserved it, because he’s being so abusive what he did to his girlfriend, Terry McGregor he should’ve pushed her and hit her on the head by the tree branch he doesn’t have a right too treat her like that in the first place
