I think it might've been best if Captain MacTavish went with Roach to Makarov's villa and Captain Price with Ghost to the boneyard, since the Captains have more skills to survive a heavily armed attack and could've protected them.

Shephard tried to kill TF141, but in the end they killed him. Shephard was thorough though. He potentially got all but two members, Price and Soap. And in the end, they got him.
The first 2 reason don't hold up since they have explanations. With the Brazil mission, in the cutscene of hornet's nest you can see it says Brazil condemning the airport massa and in response denying the US airspace passage over Brazil which explains why TF141 being denied extraction. With the gulag mission, Shepard says "one man in the gulag doesn't mean much to the navy at this point" which is understandable since the US Navy is probably not happy being forced to use their assets on rescuing one man instead of being sent back the US mainland to defend the Russian invasion and explains why their being a little trigger happy destroying the gulag.
It's also entirely possible Shepard wasn't relaying information to the Navy and didn't even try to call off the bombardment in the hope it would kill tf141 and Price

The whole set of Brazil missions take place after the airport incident, meaning that if the US were to respect any air travel sanctions put in place by Brazil, they would have never been there in the first place. As for the gulag mission, it is made clear that Shepherd was leading the counterattack on Russia. Under this leadership, it is the navy's top priority to follow his orders no matter what they think about them. They can't just blow up the gulag because they feel like it, especially if Shepherd specifically told them not to. It is definitely the case of Shepherd deliberately telling the navy to open fire or explicitly not giving the order to stop firing.

As an Brazilian I've always seen the favela missions as some kind of joint operations between TF141 and local forces, because Meat and Royce talk portuguese to the civilians as they enter the favela. Knowing my country as I do, I've really thought that our corrupt command just used the task force to kill the drug dealers without having to get their hands dirty and let them by their own. But now I really see It as Shepherd trying to leave them to die, as he try to in all those other missions

Ive played this gulag misson for many years and i always found it strange that the navy kept air striking the gulug knowing soap and his team were in there im like they do know they have Friendly's still.
If you think about it, the navy is wasting their resources just to save one man from the gulag. Which explains why they are a bit trigger happy with the gulag. God the original Modern Warfare trilogy was just so good. MW2 is by far my favorite. Such a shame they decided to reboot them instead of making a new trilogy.

Those first 2 are just straight up accusations lmao. It's explained in the game why command didn't send a chopper to pick up TF141, and why the Navy kept firing on the Gulag. 1. Command's scanners and/or satellites had either been hacked, jammed, or malfunctioned. Command's map was showing hostile aircraft in areas where there was none, and not showing any in areas where they were swarming. Hence why in the mission opening command was calling a bunch of USA units asking if they were under attack, but the only one that was actually under attack was the only one that the scanners showed no enemy aircraft at all. Command thought there was a bunch of enemy aircraft in 141's area, so they denied Ghost's request. 2. Shepherd says many times that he's trying to negotiate with the Navy but they're not listening to him. He was able to buy them time but the Nazy was insistent on continuing their attack. Shepherd doesn't control the Nazy.

Just one question (it's been a while): why would Shepherd want them dead that early? At Loose Ends, it makes sense; he has the DSM and basically everything he needs to become a hero and get away with what he did to achieve that, so he no longer needs TF141. But why would he try to kill TF141 as early as the Brazil missions when they would end up being useful for retrieving one of the things he needed most?
If tf 141 would get killed early by Brazilians then shepherd would blame the tf 141because they started the war due the incident at the airport. Joseph Allen was a part of tf 141.

The chopper not showing up to the Favela had *nothing* to do with Shepherd. That was a matter of Soap and Roach being too late recovering that ACS Module from the Russians, and both the 141 and US's air space was being contested with reports of hostile air force, to which most units were confused and reporting negative contact.
I think the first 2 don’t count because: in Takedown due to the war erupting in the U.S; none of the men appear to be aware of it, and Ghost felt they were abandoned. Shepherd actually wouldn't have any command over the Navy. Different branches of the military. Rivalries exist a *lot* between the branches, and considering he's using them to save *one* man instead of protecting the US it makes sense that they wouldn't be taking his suggestions. Mentions Sas Indicated that Al Assad May have Had a Russian Warhead and maybe he blames Price and Soap Because they were Sas and that he feels If the Sas Gave them Bad Intel by not telling them it was a Nuclear Device earlier. Also the Intro of Shock And Awe Music is different from Every Other Usmc Mission in Cod 4.

honestly I think the only time he tried was the time where he actually killed them in Loose Ends. doing so any sooner wouldve been pointless for him. at the time the 141 was made up of some of the best elite operatives in the western world and were proven too valuable to dispose of just yet. once he got the blank check from the Pentagon, he had all the funding and resources in the world which he used to bolster up his private army that were steadfast loyal to him and him alone and then at that point he didnt need the 141 anymore. and since they were no longer needed, it was time to cut loose ends. and by even then after his betrayal they didnt know why he betrayed them until later on

The remaster really messes up a lot of key scenes. The knife throw ending for example is completely ruined - the new animations are worse, the music is out of sync, etc. Plus, the character models look worse too.

Those first 2 are just straight up accusations lmao. It's explained in the game why command didn't send a chopper to pick up TF141, and why the Navy kept firing on the Gulag.
1. Command's scanners and/or satellites had either been hacked, jammed, or malfunctioned. Command's map was showing hostile aircraft in areas where there was none, and not showing any in areas where they were swarming. Hence why in the mission opening command was calling a bunch of USA units asking if they were under attack, but the only one that was actually under attack was the only one that the scanners showed no enemy aircraft at all. Command thought there was a bunch of enemy aircraft in 141's area, so they denied Ghost's request.
2. Shepherd says many times that he's trying to negotiate with the Navy but they're not listening to him. He was able to buy them time but the Nazy was insistent on continuing their attack. Shepherd doesn't control the Nazy.

He did control the Navy I think as well in Call of Duty 4. He was Command and I think pre Shock and Awe Mission he was a Higher Rank than a Army General. I think he was a Four Star General so he had Command over all military forces

Just one question (it's been a while): why would Shepherd want them dead that early? At Loose Ends, it makes sense; he has the DSM and basically everything he needs to become a hero and get away with what he did to achieve that, so he no longer needs TF141. But why would he try to kill TF141 as early as the Brazil missions when they would end up being useful for retrieving one of the things he needed most?
If tf 141 would get killed early by Brazilians then shepherd would blame the tf 141because they started the war due the incident at the airport. Joseph Allen was a part of tf 141.

The chopper not showing up to the Favela had *nothing* to do with Shepherd. That was a matter of Soap and Roach being too late recovering that ACS Module from the Russians, and both the 141 and US's air space was being contested with reports of hostile air force, to which most units were confused and reporting negative contact.

I think the first 2 don’t count because: in Takedown due to the war erupting in the U.S; none of the men appear to be aware of it, and Ghost felt they were abandoned. Shepherd actually wouldn't have any command over the Navy. Different branches of the military. Rivalries exist a *lot* between the branches, and considering he's using them to save *one* man instead of protecting the US it makes sense that they wouldn't be taking his suggestions.
Because even with his reputation, being an Army general means that's all it would be, suggestions.

In Shock and Awe Intro Command( I think could have Been Shepard.) Mentions Sas Indicated that Al Assad May have Had a Russian Warhead and maybe he blames Price and Soap Because they were Sas and that he feels If the Sas Gave them Bad Intel by not telling them it was a Nuclear Device earlier. Also the Intro of Shock And Awe Music is different from Every Other Usmc Mission in Cod 4.

honestly I think the only time he tried was the time where he actually killed them in Loose Ends. doing so any sooner wouldve been pointless for him. at the time the 141 was made up of some of the best elite operatives in the western world and were proven too valuable to dispose of just yet. once he got the blank check from the Pentagon, he had all the funding and resources in the world which he used to bolster up his private army that were steadfast loyal to him and him alone and then at that point he didnt need the 141 anymore. and since they were no longer needed, it was time to cut loose ends. and by even then after his betrayal they didnt know why he betrayed them until later on

The remaster really messes up a lot of key scenes. The knife throw ending for example is completely ruined - the new animations are worse, the music is out of sync, etc. Plus, the character models look worse too.
