This video is 8 months old so you probably know by now but, you were asking about seeing them live. You know how incredible is this official release of Hallelujah so now listen to a LIVE VERSION that is as good (and in some ways better): ruclips.net/video/haFHrfmfHbc/видео.html
That bass! The one and only Avi Kaplan, an opera trained basso profundo who left the group in 2017 and is now pursuing a successful solo career. Please check out his 'Change on the Rise'. If you want to hear them all really singing together in beautiful five part harmony, then you must listen to 'Run To You', an Avi and Kevin original.
Try their Popspring 2016 performance. It also introduces you to their original songs, which are excellent. They have lots of original stuff! Try Love Again, Can't Sleep Love, Sing, Coffee In Bed, Be My Eyes and Happy Now.
Avi Kaplan basso profundo sang second. Scott sang first and covered the bass. They are all extremely multi talented and together they are near perfection. They do this live also and just as good. The bass left and has a wondrous solo career you should check out. Change on the Rise and b/ w video of I'm only getting started. Great reaction.
I've been watching your channel because of your reactions to Ren, but Pentatonix is one of my favorite groups. The only thing they have in common is they are all fantastic at what they do.
I can listen all day too. I love your appreciation and I can’t wait to see more reactions. I am going on Tuesday to see them in Cincinnati Ohio for the first time and I’m so excited.
The first singer ( scott Hoying) is a baritone and when their bass singer ( Avi Kaplan , guy with long hair in the beanie) sings the second verse, Scott takes over doing the bass. Avi then takes bass for the remainder of the song. They all have at least 4 octave ranges and the beatboxer can sing tenor as well and sings backing vocals when not actively beatboxing. There is a live version of this for you to watch: ruclips.net/video/FqphhPapkoc/видео.htmlsi=SbTEgBg02OdJHbSh It's from last year at the Hollywood Bowl and note that the bass singer is Matt Sallee. Avi Kaplan left the the group amicably in 2017. Matt joined then about 6 months later. All the rest of the group are the same people you just saw...just aged about 7 or 8 years. There are lots of songs available from that concert in Miles Reuben's channel...all separated by songs.
Love watching people discover the best of the acapella world and can't wait for more!! Can You Feel The Love Tonight, bohemian Rhapsody, Mad World, Imagine, Sound Of Silence and the list goes on!! Subscribed for more Pentatonix!!
The only thing better than this beautiful video is the *LIVE* Christmas Special version. You see all of them up close in the same frame to get a better idea of what each one is doing. Beautiful.
Great reaction. Thank you. They sing this song at every concert. There are many, many, many videos on RUclips of them singing this song. When you get a chance, please react to Pentatonix video for "My Heart With You". Lots of harmonies in that one and it's beautiful.
Beautiful reaction. Subbing hoping for more. Here's the title of the live version of this song where you can watch them do it all live: Hallelujah - Pentatonix (From A Pentatonix Christmas Special). Don't worry, most of us Pentaholics have no problem watching both versions. It's from a TV show so the sound and video is really good. Enjoy!
If you want to hear the beatboxer Kevin sing??? Watch amazing grace. He has an amazing voice, too, and he plays cello. If you want live, you should look up the Christmas performance.
Scott, the first singer took over the bass in the 2nd verse for the bass, Avi, who sang 2nd. They all have amazing ranges. I saw them live Christmas week, 2021, in Sugarland, TX. They did not disappoint. :) “Bohemian Rhapsody” “Daft Punk” (won a Grammy)
live they are really better even if it seems to be impossible. I saw they live.. It was incredible. i dont know How it works but they are really amazing.
Okay, you've got my subscription! Pentatonix is just as good live as their studio versions. There's a lot of live performances out there. See for yourself! Cheers!
Ah I see you found their most popular song. This is one of my favorites cuz of the Mitch slap heard from around the world. LOL I think the only other two high notes from Mitch that top this song is "can you feel the love tonight" from the lion king. And the other is a live song they play I think it's something like "ahh or Monsters" I want to say. But he hits this note that I swear it shatters every window within the 2-mile radius. You should totally cover both of those if you haven't already. I'm only three songs into your reactions. Subscribed of course. Looking forward to the rabbit hole you're about to dive into.
I do listen to them most all day. They are on in my home They were born to sing together Scott, Mitch and Kirstie grew up together and have sung together all their lives. Lots of live PTX singing on line They really are special If you like try their covers of Havana, Gold, Bohemian Rhapsody, the prayer, shallow, Can you feel the love tonight. From the lion king. Or check out their stunning evolution songs Evolution of Micheal Jackson or Rhianna
The 1st singer (Scott Hoying) is doing the bass while the real bass (Avi Kaplan) sings the 2nd verse. There is a live version from their 2017 special. They have also some videos of them doing it live on tour this year. Sounds the same, scary talented people. enjoyed that! The beat boxer is the most talented one LOL.
I am going to see them live September 3rd can't wait!! I found them a couple years ago and had to go back and listen to everything they have done. There original music is great too. There covers are called upgrades.
I'm going to the Sept. 6th show. I have been listening to them since the sing-off and these tickets were a birthday gift and I can not be more excited! I love all their original songs.
You reaction is the same as mine. Go down their rabbit hole. They have a huge catalog pf almost three hundred songs. They don't record anything they can do live. They are several different l.ive performances of this. They are just as wonderful humane beings as they are singers. They have seeralmoriginal and Christmas Albums that are just wonderful.
There are actually 2 people "making the bass sound". The first to sing was Scott Hoying. He is primarily a Baritone. The second to sing is Avi Kaplan. He sings bass. But....whenever Avi is singing the lead, Scott sings bass. So, all the bass notes you heard when Avi was singing the lead, you were hearing Scott sing the bass notes. If you want to react to PTX in concert, "Pop Spring 2016" showcases them singing 3 of their own songs (not covers) & one of their "Evolution of...." medlies. I know you will LOVE it.
Here's a link to an awesome live version of this - in this one too you can tell that Scott (The tall Blonde that sung first) covers the Bass parts while the Bass is singing a solo part (The guy with the beard, long hair and beanie, his name is Avi - pronounced Ah-Vee) ruclips.net/video/haFHrfmfHbc/видео.html You can also tell he's doing the bass for Matt (the new bass that took over from Avi in 2017) in their Sound of Silence cover ruclips.net/video/gdVjVtpr55M/видео.html The mitch-slap did not disappoint! That is what us pentaholics say when someone gives the stankface, blank stare or bugged out eyes and open mouth, whenever Mitch (the high male countertenor with the wide hat) opens his mouth to sing. He has a really high singing register, it's just sooo clear and beautiful! I recommend Sound of Silence, Mary Did You Know, Bohemian Rhapsody, 90's Dance Medley and Imagine. Also there is no such thing as starting with the 'wrong song'. A lot of reactors do start with Hallelujah but it is not a MUST for a first time reaction!
This is a masterpiece, and the best version of Hallelujah in my opinion. I do feel like Kevin (beatboxer) isn’t given enough focus so many people overlook him beatboxing. The live Christmas Special is also amazing - both for hearing it live and because it’s easier to see everything that Kevin does. They are all amazing ETA Christmas live vid link: ruclips.net/video/haFHrfmfHbc/видео.htmlsi=07QS5qNI5KraJn6q
I think you would very much enjoy "Run To You," an original, written by Avi and Kevin. There's no lead singer and no solos, not even any beatboxing, just glorious five part harmony. For more of Kevin (the beatboxer), I recommend "The Kevin Show/Kevin's Fifth." This is a live feed from one of their concerts in Owensboro, Kentucky, Kevin's home town: ruclips.net/video/DbCasvcNx78/видео.html And here's a live feed of "Hallelujah" from their recent world tour: ruclips.net/video/ASYzLoi810k/видео.html Note that Matt's arrangement for the second verse is different from Avi's. I think it was specifically written to allow Matt to show off his full range, which is spectacular.
People will recommend the live version of Halleluiah from their Christmas television special, which is good. But it might be better to see a more recent live version, from their 2022 concert at the Hollywood Bowl. ruclips.net/video/FqphhPapkoc/видео.html
Here is that bass. He left Pentatonix in 2017 and is a solo artist now. Avi Kaplan Find The Cost of Freedom (short) ruclips.net/user/shortsSTR8B6qBc3o He is the best out there.
Ok, you will get different versions of what I'm about to say. Scott, tenor, is the main lead, but there really is no lead. Mitch soprano. Kirstie, the only female. They were all high school friends. Avi, bass. Kevin, beatboxer. Avi left around 2017 and was replaced by Matt. First, welcome, you sound addicted. We addicted are called Pentaholics. As you listen to more and more, it is termed "going down the rabbit hole". Most of us start with Hallelujah, and you already found Daft Punk. They have so many, but try Sound of Silence, Imagine, Can You Feel the Love Tonight from Lion King, and Amazing Grace, Mary Did You aKnow, and the Wizard of Ahhhs just to name a few. Prayer for this World is an original. Enjoy.

There's a live version of THIS song!
It's called: Hallelujah - Pentatonix (From A Pentatonix Christmas Special)
You won't regret it!
Yes, amazing.

I second listening to Avi's solo music! Also, Run to you is special

Sub for more reactions. I saw these 5 musically gifted aliens last night. They sound just as good as the studio version or even better live. Simply 🤯
And trust us when we tell you, They are just as phenomenal live!
Old PTX, new PTX, any PTX just makes me so happy ❤️🇨🇦
I recommend “Hallelujah (A Christmas Concert)” I love this version. It’s PTX live. Good reaction. Thanks
I've been watching your channel because of your reactions to Ren, but Pentatonix is one of my favorite groups. The only thing they have in common is they are all fantastic at what they do.
The part at the end where they all sing together is known as their Wall of Sound, which is the perfect name for it!
I can listen all day too. I love your appreciation and I can’t wait to see more reactions. I am going on Tuesday to see them in Cincinnati Ohio for the first time and I’m so excited.
You got it through!! Woo Hoo!! Thanks so much for reacting to PTX and their upgrade of Hallelujah!

sound of Silence
This is perfection, they do perfection regularly!!
Yes, there is a live version, actually more than one I think!? 😊 Loved your reaction! 😊❤
Scott, the first singer took over the bass in the 2nd verse for the bass, Avi, who sang 2nd. They all have amazing ranges.
I saw them live Christmas week, 2021, in Sugarland, TX. They did not disappoint. :)
“Bohemian Rhapsody”
“Daft Punk” (won a Grammy)
I would also recommend the backstage private performance of Daft Punk. Amazing
Hello I just subscribed. More Pentatonix please
Great reaction to this amazing PTX video ~ new subscriber
live they are really better even if it seems to be impossible. I saw they live.. It was incredible. i dont know How it works but they are really amazing.
AVIII IS AMAZING
Okay, you've got my subscription! Pentatonix is just as good live as their studio versions. There's a lot of live performances out there. See for yourself! Cheers!
Everything Pentatonix does seems impossible to me; I've concluded that the only "explanation" is that it's magic.

imo best version of this is sung by Kd Lang. Mariah Bell skated to it at 2020 Nationals hope you'll consider reacting to these also

This is how you get subscribers... Pentatonix!
If you choose to see KD Lang's version she performed it at the Olympic opening ceremony of 2010
People will recommend the live version of Halleluiah from their Christmas television special, which is good. But it might be better to see a more recent live version, from their 2022 concert at the Hollywood Bowl. ruclips.net/video/FqphhPapkoc/видео.html
Here is that bass.
He left Pentatonix in 2017 and is a solo artist now.
Avi Kaplan

FYI this song has 27 verses
Wow really?! 🤯
