It seems daunting at first, I also did BASIC programming in the early 80's and am now learning to code with JavaScript, especially if you follow Simon, he takes the time to explain the syntax. I have developed a Sales and Inventory system within google sheets using their built in appscript which is similar/based off JavaScript

    Hello Simon,
I have gone through and completed your HTML/CSS course. It was really very simple to understand, practice and grasp the concepts. Thank you very much for the effort and love you put into making such excellent learning material.
Is there any course on Python that you can recommend that is as explanatory as your videos? I see you don't have any tutorial on Python on your site.

A lot of videos mention Machine Learning and Data Science as being the things Python is good for, but even if you aren't into those Python has other use cases and benefits (and also cons like a slow execution speed and that it's not too easy to distribute).
I think some of the biggest things are automation, scripting/scripts and webscraping, all of which I'm interested in.
And whilst it's not great at it, there's plenty of GUI toolkits for it as well if you're into that.

I was surprised about how much I liked coding Kotlin in Android Studio - it worked really well. Sadly I also agree that mobile apps are a niche - people will use the few really popular apps and aside from that only a few very specific ones. Meanwhile it's not surprising that the scripting language for the web is the most widespread.

Very underrated, keep up the great video! I remember learning Pythons couple months back and loved it but don’t remember it as much. For job wise, is it smart to learn both JS and Pythons or is that too board?

    • @SuperSimpleDev

Thank you! I recommend picking one and mastering it first. Every dev I know is a master of one of JS or Python and very bad at the other lol, you can get by just fine with one. I recommend JS just based on the numbers. But pick Python if you specifically like it or you don’t like making web pages.
