I do get so motivated by your decluttering and deep cleaning videos. Our closets are so small they are in constant need of decluttering. I just challenged my hubs to a closet clean-off. We each have to get rid of at least 25% of clothes, shoes, and “stuff”. It’s on!

I’d like to see a garage declutter. Here’s how my husband cleaned his closet: stood in front of the clothes, pulled 2 pairs of pants and 1 shirt, said that was it, went to play golf. Men! 🌺
Self care: last year I put a calendar in my bathroom and wrote out all the ‘self-care’ things I wanted to do per week for the whole year!! Everything from face and hair masks, peels, mani/pedis (I do them at home) even whitening my teeth. I’m usually too tired at the end of the day and forget to do any of these things on a consistent basis and this is a game changer!! It hangs right by my mirror so I see it multiple times a day! Great job on the closet!!
I've watched hundreds of decluttering videos and read so many articles and this supports me. My husband has never watched any, and he declutters like a pro in less than an hour. I am amazed and should have just watched him!
I love decluttering! It's hard when you have people in your house who does not like it as much. 😂 It's hard to get them to throw things away or get rid of things. As far as your children's art/school work. I did see a great idea in Jamie's Journey video. The best I have seen yet. Jamie took a filing container (almost see through) and added hanging files in it to hold her daughter's school work. Then she labeled each file with the school grade. On the front of the container, Jamie put a picture of her daughter with her name on it. That way she knows what container to grab to add more stuff into it. I absolutely love this idea. It's simple, neat, and easily stored. You should do one for each of your boys! *I hope this made sense. I tried to find the video for you, but haven't located it yet. If I do, I'll share it with you! ♥️
For the past 3 years, I have been struggling with self motivation when it comes to cleaning, decluttering, decorating etc.! I first heard you mention the slow vac I think about 2 years ago now and I swear by it!! My family is always so surprised when they see all the stuff that still comes out even after having vacuumed once. Can’t wait to see what you do with the desk space!

I collected each child’s artwork and writings for each school year in the temporary bins. Then in summer we go through and decide what was special enough to put in each of their large keepsake totes. After college they went through their keepsake bins and enjoyed going through the items but in general all they wanted to keep was their baby book, the outfit they came home in from the hospital, yearbooks, artwork they made in middle school art class and a few writing assignments they actually remembered doing. So when my girls moved into their own family home we bought their one keepsake tote, their preserved wedding dress and a few stuffed animals and their American girl dolls.
It's so much fun to show the kids now 16 and 17 the drawings and stuff they made when they were much smaller. We did however loose a lot of keepsakes last year due to water damage I will definitely be more intentional about how I store that type of stuff.
Hey Amanda! The paper clutter for kids is real. I have a file organizer for each child and each year has its own folder so important papers, special art work, report cards, extra school pics, etc get filed into the year. The file organizer is stored in my kid's rooms so they can look at their special things whenever they want!
I find going thru my closet is tedious but then in the end, it's so satisfying to how much clothes I was hanging onto. Thanks for the continued motivation.

I love that rug in your closet and I like it at the angle, it’s just a cozy touch. I think I have watched you slow vacuum that rug about 4 times now, lol. Hats off to you for decluttering as often as you do. I miss rearranging the furniture all the time when I cleaned. My husband hated me moving stuff and that sort of shut me down doing it.
so very motivating. I need to go thru my closet and get rid of all that I don't wear. My husband is the hoarder. He keeps clothes in larger and smaller sizes (and we moved them three times!) You look great!
I love seeing Felix always come into the videos! But I would love to see a garage declutter too! I do love this before and after it’s crazy how much it changed the closet just by decluttering clothes. It did make me feel motivated to declutter my clothes that I’m just holding on to.
I saw a solution for kids stuff awhile back that I LOVE. I got some plastic hanging folder storage bins. Then there's a hanging folder for each school year. Their yearbooks go in there, plus anything they really really want to keep from each year. So their entire school career will be in a plastic bin by the end of it!
Amanda, I just want to start the year by saying I think you are a very humble, caring person. I do enjoy seeing you're beautiful family as you live your lives out. Your slow vacuum cleaning hake is one of the most important ideas you have given. I also enjoy watching you make meals; I intend to try them all soon!! Yeah! I’m so proud of you Slim! That’s GREAT! 25 pounds 🎉 Fashion show! Love it! A spring purge always feels good, doesn’t it? Some of the things you say make me feel like we were separated at birth. Ha! Ha! I thought I was the only one that had lunch literally on my checklist. I used to hang up my clothes by outfit. But we get such rare cold weather here that I just do my shorts outfits and hang my pants on the side. There’s no thinking that way. I just grab the next in line and put it on. That way I wear all my clothes. Do you ever forget what’s in your bins? I’d need labels. Ha! Ha! Loving Felix in the basket! So cute. Awww… I love that you’re sentimental. I constantly declutter my closet, but this has inspired me to utilize my shelf above my clothes better because of how well your blue bins store your various items!
I tend to listen to audiobooks or podcasts to keep me going…if it’s a good story, I don’t realize how done I am with the chore😂. And, for self care, schedule it in like an appointment and put your phone on do not disturb. Remember, you deserve it and aren’t being selfish to care for yourself as you care for others🥰
I honestly believe sometimes my Mother has hard time at letting things go. However, she has been getting better and not hoard onto things for the sake of keeping them. When I was younger, she would keep my old tops and use them as clothes to wipe the floor with haha... it use to drive me mental. I have no issue in letting things go. I did keep a really baggy Winnie the Poo T-shirt my grandmother got me. It was so worn out on the seams and sleeves. I eventually let it go because I had her jade cross. That was all I needed, and I have photos and videos of her if I ever wanted to venture through them. I like to keep my home fairly minimal because it is easier to organise and clean. One thing I do keep are cards for Birthdays, Christmas and Valentines hehe... My office has been the bane of my life. I've been in my new build for 3 years and 6 months and the office is finally looking the way I want it. I need to get new binders and folders so the shelves looks consistent and more unified x

I hang dress pants and skirts, but I put vertical cube shelves in my closet to fold my jeans and arrange them by color/fit. That way I can still see what I have. In off seasons, I store them away in drawers...only because our closet is tiny. 😁 Very motivating video, thank you!
Also helps to hang like colors together. Much easier to see what styles you have in same colors. This helps you from purchasing the same items again Thanks, congrats on your journey
Loved it Amanda! You’re videos are always so inspiring and motivating to me. I did turn all my hangers backwards on Feb 1st. Then on next February 1st whatever is still turned the wrong way it outta here. That will take me through all the seasons and holidays. So if I haven’t worn it, I’m not going to. And I’m trying to go low-buy or no-buy this year. I have everything I need. Honestly. So unless I use it up I’m not going to be adding anything else to my home. I just want to stay off of Amazon, and shopping on the computer altogether. It is so easy to over buy. And over spend when it’s just a few clicks. So I’m right there with you.

I think what keeps me motivated and keeping up with my de-cluttering is doing it more times a year instead of once a year and also having the right mindset and watching your channel and watching other people declutter always makes you want to do that yourself it's so funny because people will come in my house and they will see me cleaning or I have already cleaned and they say all I want to do is just go home and clean my house after seeing yours and I just have to laugh. So sometimes being motivated by watching someone else is all we need and you're really good at keeping us motivated
I've been meaning to take our closet yours turned out amazing. Last Sat I did our bathroom and your right starting small gives motivation to keep going.
After watching your kitchen declutter and organize video I finally tackled my own kitchen and it looks and feels so good. My closet declutter will happen in the next 2 weeks although I don't easily part with clothes even pieces I haven't worn much😔
With a closet this big, I might just store a lot of clothes because it's big. But I love how you think of keeping clothes intentionally. This video is making me declutter my clothes as well.

Yes!! So motivational!! My master closet is OVERDUE…I won’t say how much overdue bc it would be really embarrassing 😬 My husband at the age of 55 decided a little over 4 years ago to go back to school & go for a Master’s degree. We did not realize how challenging that would be. We have 2 boys, both adopted 🥰 & it has been a long haul, but so thankful to the Lord that he will be graduating this May!! Can’t wait to get family life back to normal 🤗
You're the first person I know who has mentioned slow vacuuming! I've always done it because that's me, but it's nice to know that it's not JUST me lol! Deep cleaning the grout in my kitchen today!
Two things: (1) I use my robot vacuum and vacuum every day. I am not kidding, it picks up so much dust every single time. I would hate to see what it would look like if my floors were carpeted (2) I love the idea of reversing your hang up clothes to monitor if you are actually wearing them. Great idea that makes for an easy purge. The closet looks good. I know you were tired!!!!
I keep my children’s art work in their bedroom in a box /basket in the bottom of their wardrobe. Then each holidays the kids and I went thought the basket to keep their favourite and let the others go! It was good as they could make the choice of what to keep, 💕💙💙🇦🇺🤦🏻♀️
I am the one who declutters. My husband actually doesn't have a lot of clothes. Just enough for a week. He keeps all his stuff in his office in boxes and I'll go in sometimes and work with him. Sometimes he'll do it on his own but it is me that is the driving force behind getting things purged.

Your closet is gigantic! I wouldn’t know how to act in there! I clean out my closet annually, between Christmas and New Years. I also turn my hangers but I don’t hesitate. Those not turned, go! That makes it so easy. I love a nice organized space! Now, you got me thinking of hanging another shelf to keep bins for keepsakes. That’s a really neat looking space.

I have the perfect idea for making sure you get self-care in! So set an alarm on your phone, to a time when you know the kids are in bed or school, and you can allot some specific time for this. Maybe get a bin and put all self-care items in it so you know where to go for them and they are in one spot. And just take 15 min (or however much time you think you can have) and make sure that you follow thru. Whether it's every day or every other day, just weekends, whenever you feel you realistically can. And go from there. You can always change the days and times to work for your schedule. And be consistent so you can create a small new routine for yourself that just becomes a habit. Hope this helps ❤️❤️❤️ (I have done this specifically For taking vitamins, I have 4 different alarms on my phone that correlate with my work schedule and breaks, the alarms help me remember to take them so I don't forget. I have been doing this for 2 or so months now, and it helps tremendously!)
My husband of 37 years cannot let anything go! I have boxes and boxes of “stuff” that we have moved through 3 provinces and multiple homes!! Aaaahhhh!😃

I love seeing Felix always come into the videos! But I would love to see a garage declutter too! I do love this before and after it’s crazy how much it changed the closet just by decluttering clothes. It did make me feel motivated to declutter my clothes that I’m just holding on to.
I saw a solution for kids stuff awhile back that I LOVE. I got some plastic hanging folder storage bins. Then there's a hanging folder for each school year. Their yearbooks go in there, plus anything they really really want to keep from each year. So their entire school career will be in a plastic bin by the end of it!
Amanda, I just want to start the year by saying I think you are a very humble, caring person. I do enjoy seeing you're beautiful family as you live your lives out. Your slow vacuum cleaning hake is one of the most important ideas you have given. I also enjoy watching you make meals; I intend to try them all soon!! Also, the next great idea you showed today, is how you divided the cloths into opposite hanger directions to show clearly what you are action wearing or not wearing, brilliant idea!! I’m from the UK and have been watching you now since mid 2020 (during the UK COVID lockdown). I love watching your videos and have also enjoyed watching you and your family evolve. You are so inspirational. I’ve just decluttered my wardrobes after watching this video and can’t say how much happier I feel. All the clutter gets you down and it’s so good to having a clear out every now and again. Please keep on going. X

Yeah! I’m so proud of you Slim! That’s GREAT! 25 pounds 🎉 Fashion show! Love it! A spring purge always feels good, doesn’t it? Some of the things you say make me feel like we were separated at birth. Ha! Ha! I thought I was the only one that had lunch literally on my checklist. I used to hang up my clothes by outfit. But we get such rare cold weather here that I just do my shorts outfits and hang my pants on the side. There’s no thinking that way. I just grab the next in line and put it on. That way I wear all my clothes. Do you ever forget what’s in your bins? I’d need labels. Ha! Ha! Loving Felix in the basket! So cute. Awww… I love that you’re sentimental. I roll all our pool towels and they are in a big basket. Makes it so easy to take out to the pool when everyone is here. Plus it looks so cute!

I constantly declutter my closet, but this has inspired me to utilize my shelf above my clothes better because of how well your blue bins store your various items!

I tend to listen to audiobooks or podcasts to keep me going…if it’s a good story, I don’t realize how done I am with the chore😂. And, for self care, schedule it in like an appointment and put your phone on do not disturb. Remember, you deserve it and aren’t being selfish to care for yourself as you care for others🥰

I honestly believe sometimes my Mother has hard time at letting things go. However, she has been getting better and not hoard onto things for the sake of keeping them. When I was younger, she would keep my old tops and use them as clothes to wipe the floor with haha... it use to drive me mental.
I have no issue in letting things go. I did keep a really baggy Winnie the Poo T-shirt my grandmother got me. It was so worn out on the seams and sleeves. I eventually let it go because I had her jade cross. That was all I needed, and I have photos and videos of her if I ever wanted to venture through them. I like to keep my home fairly minimal because it is easier to organise and clean. One thing I do keep are cards for Birthdays, Christmas and Valentines hehe...
My office has been the bane of my life. I've been in my new build for 3 years and 6 months and the office is finally looking the way I want it. I need to get new binders and folders so the shelves looks consistent and more unified x

I hang dress pants and skirts, but I put vertical cube shelves in my closet to fold my jeans and arrange them by color/fit. That way I can still see what I have. In off seasons, I store them away in drawers...only because our closet is tiny. 😁 Very motivating video, thank you!
Also helps to hang like colors together. Much easier to see what styles you have in same colors. This helps you from purchasing the same items again

Loved it Amanda! You’re videos are always so inspiring and motivating to me. I did turn all my hangers backwards on Feb 1st. Then on next February 1st whatever is still turned the wrong way it outta here. That will take me through all the seasons and holidays. So if I haven’t worn it, I’m not going to. And I’m trying to go low-buy or no-buy this year. I have everything I need. Honestly. So unless I use it up I’m not going to be adding anything else to my home. I just want to stay off of Amazon, and shopping on the computer altogether. It is so easy to over buy. And over spend when it’s just a few clicks. So I’m right there with you.

Hi Amanda I love watching you decluttering, and clean your closet. I am love that you donate stuff , because that's what I do. Your closet looks amazing, and it's making me to work on getting our closet decluttered, and get a closet unit put in my closet.
I think what keeps me motivated and keeping up with my de-cluttering is doing it more times a year instead of once a year and also having the right mindset and watching your channel and watching other people declutter always makes you want to do that yourself it's so funny because people will come in my house and they will see me cleaning or I have already cleaned and they say all I want to do is just go home and clean my house after seeing yours and I just have to laugh. So sometimes being motivated by watching someone else is all we need and you're really good at keeping us motivated

After watching your kitchen declutter and organize video I finally tackled my own kitchen and it looks and feels so good. My closet declutter will happen in the next 2 weeks although I don't easily part with clothes even pieces I haven't worn much😔
With a closet this big, I might just store a lot of clothes because it's big. But I love how you think of keeping clothes intentionally.

Yes!! So motivational!! My master closet is OVERDUE…I won’t say how much overdue bc it would be really embarrassing 😬 My husband at the age of 55 decided a little over 4 years ago to go back to school & go for a Master’s degree. We did not realize how challenging that would be. We have 2 boys, both adopted 🥰 & it has been a long haul, but so thankful to the Lord that he will be graduating this May!! Can’t wait to get family life back to normal 🤗

You're the first person I know who has mentioned slow vacuuming! I've always done it because that's me, but it's nice to know that it's not JUST me lol! Deep cleaning the grout in my kitchen today!

Two things: (1) I use my robot vacuum and vacuum every day. I am not kidding, it picks up so much dust every single time. I would hate to see what it would look like if my floors were carpeted (2) I love the idea of reversing your hang up clothes to monitor if you are actually wearing them. Great idea that makes for an easy purge. The closet looks good. I know you were tired!!!!
That was a huge declutter. Very motivating.
I keep my children’s art work in their bedroom in a box /basket in the bottom of their wardrobe. Then each holidays the kids and I went thought the basket to keep their favourite and let the others go! It was good as they could make the choice of what to keep, 💕💙💙🇦🇺🤦🏻♀️
I am the one who declutters. My husband actually doesn't have a lot of clothes. Just enough for a week. He keeps all his stuff in his office in boxes and I'll go in sometimes and work with him. Sometimes he'll do it on his own but it is me that is the driving force behind getting things purged.
Each year I make a list of areas I need to declutter. The end results are always so satisfying!

Your closet is gigantic! I wouldn’t know how to act in there! I clean out my closet annually, between Christmas and New Years. I also turn my hangers but I don’t hesitate. Those not turned, go! That makes it so easy. I love a nice organized space! Now, you got me thinking of hanging another shelf to keep bins for keepsakes. That’s a really neat looking space.

I have the perfect idea for making sure you get self-care in! So set an alarm on your phone, to a time when you know the kids are in bed or school, and you can allot some specific time for this. Maybe get a bin and put all self-care items in it so you know where to go for them and they are in one spot. And just take 15 min (or however much time you think you can have) and make sure that you follow thru. Whether it's every day or every other day, just weekends, whenever you feel you realistically can. And go from there. You can always change the days and times to work for your schedule. And be consistent so you can create a small new routine for yourself that just becomes a habit. Hope this helps ❤️❤️❤️
(I have done this specifically For taking vitamins, I have 4 different alarms on my phone that correlate with my work schedule and breaks, the alarms help me remember to take them so I don't forget. I have been doing this for 2 or so months now, and it helps tremendously!)

Hi Amanda , i'm italian and i live in south Italy so we have cold Winter and very hot Summer. For these reasons i make decluttering of clothes in spring and in autumn just in time for the change of seasons. Thank you for your motivation
