    It's interesting how levy has structured the type of videos he posts! Few months ago he used to make videos on chess phenomenas controversies and events which attracted new chess players and now he posts both entertaining + educational videos for both his new and old audiences.

    Recaps are cool, magnus is cool, chatgpt and 800s playing bad is kinda boring to me (maybe that's just me), but your OG educational stuff from years ago was where it's at for me. Just my opinion and no offense Levy

    Hey, I’m like 1900 elo and I was hoping you could make a video on how to convert winning positions. I feel like I lose way too many games where I have totally dominant winning positions, because players above 1600 elo are very good at creating complications and getting swindles.

    hey levy, i started chess last december on my birthday, (almost 3 months ago) and dropped from starting rapid rating to 300 before learning anything about the game. after binging and learning from a lot of your videos and grinding a lot of games, i managed to go from 300 to 1000. i will continue to improve as a chess player and hopefully in life. i hope this comment encourages you to continue the creative outpour yet extremely educational content in your videos. i hope one day we get to play each other somewhere, sometime in the distant future (when i am better at the game).     I usually say, "I'm only here for the beer." But this video was so interesting and informative that even full of beer I learned a lot about HOW to learn a lot. This was fascinating and insightful. Thank you. I feel as though if I watched this video once a week to remind myself of what mistakes to avoid, and what learning directions are optimal I could one day reach an Elo of 500, my life's goal. Brrup!

    Honestly, this is some of the best content you've ever made, and I've watched your content for years at this point. I've always struggled with analyzing my own games. I'm bad at translating stockfish evaluations into lessons, so this was super helpful. Please make more of these!
    P.S. - I don't know if other people agree, but a Guess the Elo resurgence would be appreciated :)

    I agree. I improved my chess skills by at minimum 50 chess rating for blitz and rapid just by analyzing my previous games, my mistakes and good/great moves. I was stuck around 1100 for a while, now I'm bouncing up and down 1150-1250 range. Still a bit difficult but I think it's just where my plateau is at the moment. Analyzing works so well for beginners.

    Crazy that the 1700 hundred had such poor clock management. This is why rapid games are so easy to win at lower ratings if you just USE YOUR TIME. He played into a middle game after like 30 seconds

    This video was actually really helpful for me because I often make these mistakes you're pointing out. I thought pushing pawns was always best but as you pointed out at 6:56 thats not always the case. I wish i would've learned chess at an earlier age, I had no clue how deep each single move can really be

    Levi this is a great video. "at this rating this was a failure you made" is a great concept. "This mistake is catastrophic" is a great concept. Go watch your replays.
    Heck, even in non-chess strategy games (I'm a fan of watching StarCraft at high level games), there's a general style to this video that other solid players, or youtubers, can take from it.

    Levy forgot to promote his courses so i will do it for him! His d4 course helped me jump 70 elo in 3 days and now i am almost 1900 in rapid after only learning 3 lessons so yeah really good stuff

    one thing i learned from alot of my games recently is that i need to spend more time thinking before every move, my rating recently went down by about 100 points in a few days and im bringing it back up now because i was making blunders often but i would end 15/10 games with as much as 10 minutes left on my clock, i ended a losing streak when i started realizing that when things are getting complicated i shouldnt be afraid to spend 2 minutes analyzing a move, especially when theres an increment so i wont really run out of time in an endgame

    The thing that helps me improve the fastest is my friend watching me playing matches and giving me feedback after. I'm just starting to play chess (900 elo atm) but my friend is a 1950 so helps me a ton :)

It would be beneficial to do a video (or maybe a short) talking about "Ok, I'm a casual player looking at a game I just played. What clues am I looking for? The automated review is great for finding missed tactics, but how can I learn about non-tactical things from the information on this screen?"

    1200 chess is actually pretty neat but when you reach around 1700, it feels like you are playing with a drunk gm. The folks there can both see like 5 moves ahead and hang there queen in 1

    25:00 e5 is actually book. It's not popular or best way to play against c4 but it's book and been played by many grandmasters.

    The French Exchange is awful. As a 1600 French player, I hate it with a dying passion, because it basically guarantees and extremely boring draw. Why even play chess if your going to play for a draw as White on the 2nd move?

    I really like this video format. Please do more videos like this where you pinpoint what a player did wrong in their game and then give suggestions for what the player may need to study in order to improve the part of the game that was apparently a weakness.
