I have a $65 portable Bluetooth speaker that has 2 full range drivers, a woofer, and two passive radiators. Looks superior to this honestly. That's why Bose gets hate on. Their price does not warrant what you get.
@@TemujinScott80 For those interested in the musical aspect of this product, getting a single 3in ported driver for $200 is pretty steep. What's the actual power of this unit's amplification? 15-30w? I wouldn't blame interested customers thinking the price is too high for what you get.
I'm trying desperately to find some guides on how to dumb down my smart speaker so I won't have to deal with its interruptions and weird sleep mode. This is somehow the closest I've gotten, and it's not even the same speaker

Hi Maximillian, I have the exact model which has gone into an update loop. Its been 3 long years now and I put it away in frustration. I have tried all possible button combinations like resetting etc, direct IP connection / update via a USB A micro as per BOSE website but nothing works. I have since changed my router and mobile too. So I guess the stored WiFi and Bluetooth are now obsolete. Is there any way that I can force it to exit the update loop by may be taking it apart and powering it up or something? Just asking because this BOSE has given me trouble from day one. Thanx.
@@ksd9756 unfortunately I no longer own this speaker; the SoundTouch speakers had their Serial ports exposed via the AUX in - maybe that still works on the HomeSpeaker series? This way you could get insights into what’s exactly going on - good luck 🤞 From my experience BOSE software has always been underwhelming and the fact that they discontinued the entire HomeSpeaker lineup isn’t a good sign
I must admit its a fantastic video, I loved the way in which you described the components and detailed each function but one thing, I found it very frustrating to keep my eyes on the speaker because I would constantly gaze at that huge keyboard that takes up a huge part of the screen. Otherwise cool.
Looks like a fairly high wattage, maybe dual voice coil setup with about a foot long waveguide.( Folds under magnet, then again under that, then down next to cone)
Couldn't find anything like that during teardown. Maybe you're lucky if you follow the Bose manual on resetting the device? AFAIK there's a combination of buttons you have to press.

Bose don’t Display speaker wattage on their site, and from the research I’ve done its 120w, which seems insane for the size of the speaker, but I also have a 2.1 tower speaker that it 65w and they are just as Loud as each other which is insane considering my tower speaker has 4 speakers 🤨

dazler33 Reassembly worked pretty well. The flat band cables are a bit tough to plug in though.

Show us how you open it from inside with head cam or overhead cam we cant se how you remove the aluminum plate

It would be great to see a teardown of the Bose A20 noise cancelling aviation headsets to see how they work and are assembled.

Is there anyway to hard reset this speaker so as to get it out of "software update loop". Any sort of internal clock or battery ?

Nice teardown. So that is why the speaker barely has treble details/airiness. No tweeter and downward firing. Great solution for bass, though.
