you should do a book recommendation video with "palate cleanser" books because i'm always looking for them but i feel like everything is either a 10 book series or a deep meaningful standalone that will change my life and sometimes i just want a fun cute book to not make me think
based on what you said about shatter me, i think you would love love love acotar! it’s literally a romance just in a fantasy setting. but beware… once you go fantasy you’ll never want to leave. throne of glass (same author as acotar) is even better with little plot holes and an amazingly connected story (less romance but that won’t even matter once you read it bc it’s THAT good)
your shatter me reading vlogs were literally my favorite videos of the year i had sm fun watching your reactions everytime i finished a book definitely a core memory for me ily🩷
honestly happy place isn't my fav emily henry romance/couple, but as a book it's still in my top two for her i think, it just resonated w me so much and literally brought me to tears. i've never been able to understand how people see themselves in characters until harriet, and as an avoidant person the miscommunication elements rly didn't bother me bc i get her so much
STEPH NEVER DISAPPOINTS!! her videos are always so so good and just amazing!! i will never not take her recs bc they are just so good!! im obsessed with ever vid she makes book vid or not!
Hi Steph! The Right Move was also one of my favourite books of the year! But I would highly recommend Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid as well (my top favourite of the year). I think you will really enjoy it.
If you want to start getting into romatasy I’d recommend the cruel prince series! It’s a slowwww enemies to lovers over like 3 books but it’s so good. Also the main girl is such a badass and not a helpless girl bc she low key protects the guy. It’s also an ACTUAL enemies to lovers where he tries to kill her at the start of the book🤩
If you want to get into romantasy, I recommend Dance of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson! It is mainly romance but the rest of the plot is so good too! A great start into fantasy that has plenty of romance. If you want more fantasy but still a lot of romance, I would recommend ACOTAR. But once you are fully comfortable in fantasy please read The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, it is mainly fantasy with a subplot of romance but like I read it two years ago and still think about it everyday! That couple will forever be my favorite ever. I'm so excited for you to read fantasy hehe one of my best decisions ever!
more recommendations on romantsy? if yes, then please do recommend....i mostly started with mafia romances, then i switched to like normal ones...and now im stuck on addicted\calloway sisters series, i started the series like 2 months ago and i have completed 8 books, and im stuck on the last book and the epilogue novel and i don't know why i stopped for a while so just to get out of my reading slump, i need to try romantsy, with a good plot
Since you liked “the true love experiment”, you absolutely have to read “the charm offensive” by Alison Cochrun! It’s that same trope of a dating show star and producer falling in love and it’s so cute, but deep at the same time. It was my favorite romance I read in 2022 and I’ve already reread it three times. It’s especially good with the audiobook^^
do you have any more recs for these sort of books? because i loved those two sooooo much. I think i found a little niche that i want to find all of the books haha
You mentioned in your last vlog that you need some tv shows to watch. I’d recommend Pen15. It’s about 2 best friends in middle school played by the women who created the show. It’s weird and funny and a cringe comedy. It’s also so wholesome and perfect and so relatable (I found some scenes so accurate to things I’ve been through) it’s so sweet and there’s a line in the finale that always makes me cry! i love it so much!!
YEEEESSSS!! oh how i adore you, steph! i want to be like you when i grow up ❤️❤️ you absolutely inspire me to keep going and to know that there’s something else after school
The right move, things we left behind, yours truly, the Boys of Tommen series, and the dark verse series were definitely some of my favorite reads of 2023. I also loved say you swear, the love interest was amazing, he was such a sweet guy. I’m glad that she chose the right guy in the end
"gossip girl 'you sold me for a hotel' vibes" is the perfect way to explain the magnolia/daisy books. its like watching a reality show about rich kids, and its bad bc its a reality show but that's why it's good
Currently reading Keeping 13 and loving it! Cant wait to get to redeeming 6 after your recommendation. The right move also really sounds like my sort of book so ill get that soon. Say you swear - i know what you mean about the twist, that felt like it came oit of nowhere to me too and the writing in the beginning of heroines mindset is very juvenile but i got used tonit and it was a good read overall for the sake of the guy i liked in it. Considering you are so into your acts of service i wonder if youve ever read the crossfire series by sylvia day? The first book is called Bared to you. I think you would love that. Billionaire romance with a strong minded FMC, his love languages are acts of swrvice and physical rouch so its super sweet and hot but also deals with some tough dark topics really well so the plot throughout holds your attention. Great vlog steph! ❤
I keep seeing The Right Move, I definitely need to read it now 😩 I also LOVED Daisy Haites the great undoing because of Julian… I’m so scared to read the last magnolia parks book 😭
I agree sooooo much with the knockemont series bc the second wasn’t as good as the first but then the third was incredible like I have reread sooooo many times. Sloane and Lucian for life ❤❤
Steph!!! what i really think you should read is that "most of all you" book behind you on your bookshelf because it's one of my all time favourites and it's soo good!!
It’s a shame that you have to put out there about what you read and enjoy makes people be judgmental thinking they can steer you to “real books”. Good for you for standing up for the love of reading and what makes you happy!!!❤
I'm really hoping you see this. I've been reading since I was a teenager and I always think it's a shame that some of the best stories don't get talked about because social media wasn't really around 10 years ago making stories popular. One of the book series I ABSOLUTELY LOVED is Half blood by Jennifer L Armontraut. For context, I've reread the series a few times and it still impresses me how well the story is written. There's 5 books with 2 novellas in between. It's not a steamy series but the love story is great, the plot is even better and I just want it more out there. Based on Greek Mythology ❤ need I say more haha. PLEASE GIVE IT A TRY Edit: first book is very similar to vampire academy first book but then the rest of the series takes a VERY different path and it's ❤❤❤
Top 5 books for me were “ecstasy” by K.V. Rose, “tied” by Carian Cole, “dead man walking” by Giana Darling “unfortunately yours” by Tessa Bailey and “tell me lies” by Carola Lovering. All so unique and underrated. (Honorable mention to “hooked” by Emily McIntire).
The Right Move was good but Caught Up had my heart - probably my favorite romance of the year, or when I started reading so much again.. And if you're into the cowboy/small town/ranch romance, Smoking Gun by Lainey Lawson was so good!! I believe it just came out in December but I loved it and only wish it had lasted longer. I too have book amnesia but I know it was a favorite =D
sorry, it's must be so random...but i just wanted to say that i love how you talk Steph😅 'cause english is not my first language, and sometimes it's hard for me to watch other English speaking bloggers because most of them speak very fast and not very clear, so it's hard for me to catch the point. hey steph!! my top book of the year was divine rivals by rebecca ross. i think you’d really love it! it’s about two rival journalists competing for the same job, while simultaneously writing anonymous letters to each other with magical typewriters. the romance is sooo good, i had butterflies the whole time. i know you mentioned wanting to read more fantasy in 2024 so i thought i’d recommend this one! If you're feeling in a fantasy mood, definitely check out the 'Once upon a broken heart' trilogy from Stephanie garber. They are super easy, fairytale-esque romantasy books.

I wouldn’t say it’s a Romatasy. There are crumbs of romance
u should def not be advertising that series as anything close to romance its basically non existent, ur only gonna disappoint ppl
