- Jasper Fforde, best known for the adventures of literary detective Thursday Next in the surreal Book World, talks to Sarah Crown about his new novel Shades of Grey and the boundry between utopia and dystopia
fforde is a genius, rereading Shades of Grey is simply delightful.
I really enjoyed reading Shades Of Grey and think that the story is cleverly constructed.
This is one of his most difficult books conceptually.
Flatland, yes! I was thinking Flatland too!
Aha, I listened to another interview, and a Shades of Grey standalone is coming out in 2014, or he's writing it then. A kind of prequel, I gather. Yay!
I read it recently for the second time and understood it better. I wish Part II would come out.
*Supposedly* it's next on his list... Hopefully soon!!
@e.j.miller3358 Due February 2024 apparently!
Hey idk if you read RUclips comments from 11 years ago but it came out!!!! I just found outtt
What happened to this series? I've been waiting for it to return for years now.
I know it's a dead thread, but just letting you know it should come out this year or early next

He said had nev been drunk, yet he is drawing comparisons to going on drunken bender on a Wednesday.
This is one of his most difficult books conceptually. I bet he has some really geeky woman after him.
