bro if you want promotion you have to sail at least 36 month onboard then go to institute for further studies and then appear for exam. If you get 2nd mate licence from India (mumbai, chennai, kolkata are best) you will be honoured as good officer or else if you try to approach big companies they might deny you. Your journey will be tough so don't loose hope.
