- This was a very fun ride in a 29 year old MD-82 with the very same cabin that it was built with 29 years ago! I was originally supposed to fly Bahamasair on their 737-500, another old plane that I was really excited to fly on. However, when we got to the gate, our plane was changed to the MD-82 chartered from WAA. See if you feel the nostalgia!

Thanks for the video. I think this is a rare gem video to accidentally fly on a charter airline MD-80!
Cool to see world Atlantic videos! They didn't even change the American interior.
Even though the interior definitely looks like it was swapped from an old American frame, N803WA (see 2:44) was never owned by American. It was actually one of the MD-80s built in Shanghai in May 1989 for China Eastern Airlines and then flew for Spanair.
Best engine noise of any Aircraft the JT8D also used by the sister Aircraft the DC-9. Always sit in the back and sit back and listen. I still remember my first flight on the DC-9 it was in 83 going to Minneapolis from Chicago.
Saw a chrome-lated livery version in Cayman! It operated flights to NYC for Cayman Airways because the 737 Max 8 problem among others.
why is a beutiful MD 80 video has only 18 likes
That’s a very good question
I flew them on the Miami-Aruba route on behalf of Surinam airways who did not have ETOPS...
Wow what?? That’s an ex American MD80!!!
Interestingly, this airlines is also used to deport illegal immigrants.
I knew that when I flew them!
Really? This airline now operates flight in and out of the Caribbean to America.
Wow! Nice trip report! I've really been wanting to see something about WAA!
