Wow! This product has so much potential not just for supporting mechanical work but also for disabled people, paramedics emergency rescue operations to think of!
Primary concerns: --- Pinch points from scissor action. --- Safety lock to prevent accidental raising or lowering from current position. --- Casters vs. typical shop floor (most shop floors are pretty nasty). Grease/oil/antifreeze can lead to traction issues. VERY COOL idea.
This would be an awesome adaptive mobility tool. I am disabled and this has many opportunities to help people. I could see this going from standing to sitting to lying down and who know what else? Very cool.
I am an aircraft mechanic and this would be very helpful. Working on general aviation aircraft where creepes are too low with some while working underneath doing inspections or maintenance. Reaching into inspection holes and what your working on is just out of reach while laying flat on your back. You can prop yourself up with one arm but you normally need both hands for what your working on. The guys I work with, we always thought it would be great if someone made a adjustable height creeper.
This is actualy brilliant and has a real place in the world, rarely do you see products this awesome. This would be a huge help for aging and injured mechanics. Such as those with back issues. Amazing would fund if I could.
Nice piece of kit. I've seen some comments about "lazy" etc, but I'm sure studies can be done (or may already have been done) to emphasise the benefits and therefore savings in time/money etc from a reduction in back injury for just one example.
I saw this on that invention show. Disappointed and a little surprised DR Power didn't pick it up. I'm assuming it's a cost-per-unit thing for them, but it's less than a Handi-Lift. I've seen mechanics spend $1000 on a single tool, I'd guess this would sell well at that price point. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Good video. The only issue for me was the dancing text towards the end of the description of the product. Overall, a fantastic idea. It's capabilities go beyond the autoshop. These can be useful in the home, office space (to a small extent) and even other physical labor areas (construction mainly). Very good idea, I suggest getting this patented fast.
This would be HUGE for people with avascular necrosis and those recovering. This could change people's lives, minimize the damage to the femur head and keep their legs from getting atrophy. I hope you got your patent on this.
This is the one of the best ideas that I've been read or watched for a long time. Very functional, especially I believe it would be helpfull for spinal (on spinal cord or hernia problems etc while performing lie down and stand up continiously ) problems who are users. But, I agree with Ahmet Uzun, is there any "lock" feature prevent of raising when you working under a car (or else)?
That thing is pretty sweet! Maybe the next update should be to use more streamlined lift controls... seems unnecessary for the joysticks to be the highest point on the chair. Unintended lifting while under a vehicle should be addressed as well, although I can see that if the joysticks came into contact with the underside of the car they most likely wouldn't jam into lift mode, they would probably go into lowering mode. Maybe an emergency lowering switch would be good.
That thing is ingenious. The only thing I worry about are the height handle levers. Imagine you roll under a car and those high-sitting levers hit the car and the chair lifts upwards and squishes you between the seat and car....not too fun.
I saw you guys on TV. I own an auto service center in Indianapolis. I thought you had a deal with DR Industrys. Any way, this looks good. I am going to send a link of the hoist to my Snap On rep. Good luck!
Awesome Job Guys just saw this on Invention USA I love it. I'm a former tech who no longer techs professionally because of my back fusion this would revolutionize the creeper. I would buy one in a second get this thing to market. Also my wife mentioned the VA might consider this adaptive equipment for wounded veterans and pay for them due to that fact.
imagine sliding under desks and getting quick up skirt peeks of women in the office and then going right back to playing solitaire in the blink of an eye
you guys just killed it!!! nice!!! great, you guys just change the world from now on.. thanks for your idea!! i want one,, can't wait to came out on the market..!!
Well yeah, but trust me. It would be an amazing back saver. Having to crawl under a car, and then back out every couple minutes to look at the manual or such to make sure your doing something right can be hell on your back. Granted, I get around this by taking my laptop under there with me, but for those that have a desktop in their shop, and are older with back problems, I can see this being of great help.
I am handicapped having lost a leg in an accident. I have always worked and tinkered on cars but since my accident I hardly ever get under a car anymore. One of the hardest things for me is getting down and back up again. I take a bag of tools under the car just so I dont have to come out and get up to find another tool. This invention would make so many jobs so much easier for me. If this doesnt get mass produced I still want one. If u have a facebook page please send it so I can stay updated.
Think of other markets too. I'm an electrician and I can tell you that installing hundreds of outlets and switched and data jacks in large office buildings will kill your knees and back after several hours. If I can creep form outlet to outlet at 18 inches and pop up to 4 feet to do switches, thermostats, and fire alarm devices it would save a lot of time and wear and tear on the body.
Hey that's a great idea. For more exposure, have you guys considered Jay Leno's garage? He likes to help out small American manufacturers to get the word out on their products
Very cool. With some modifications this could be a godsend to caretakers like my aunt who has to lift my uncle out of bed, up from a chair, etc. several times a day.
One question, is there a way to prevent accidental raising? If you are underneath a truck and your sleeve got stuck on the operating arm, are you looking to get crushed or stuck until rescue arrives? Is there an emergency release?
I really like it and I think you can do more , like one that's a chair to start with then lifts a handicapped person to an upright position . Also , make some up and start selling them , if you can do it for a thousand dollars do it .
THis is a fantastic support for mechanics that have difficulty to roll themselves under a car and back.. and do not have a bridge, car lift or other means of getting to the undercarriage. Is there an indication of the cost of this machinery?
I am in a wheelchair and cannot get up if I fall. This would be perfect for me to crawl onto and get back to normal. There is nothing like it on the market now. I would buy one today if I could.
It seems that he has to pull both handles at the same time, to get it to move. Also it's a prototype and i hope the redesign the handles, so that they're not so big. Lastly, it's a pre-tensioned system, to save energy, so i don't believe that the chair can lift much more than 10-20 kg. more than the persons weight.
I would so get one of these, pad it up, use it as my computer chair, and never get up. just lower down when i go to bed, raise up when the sun goes back down.
I would be interested in helping or investing into this idea. I grew up in a very blue collar envirnment with plenty of older men who's only goal is to retire to work in their shop. Where could I get more info about specifics. Cost to produce, production time, marketing etc? an email address possibly? Let me know!
If you want to make something like this but cheaper. Make a creep with a smaller version of a scissor lift like a bike lift. Mount a small hand operated pump on the side where you hand would lay.
Wouldn't it be easier to just make the toolbox lower so that you can roll it in under car with you? Seems like a lot of hassle to have to go out, raise the chair, get the tool, lower the chair and go back under the car.
I was thinking the samething as it would be extremely dangerous to operate under a truck. Easy solution though, just have motion detectors near the heard, if there's an object in the way it would disable the controls. Whether they have it or not idk.
Curious, does this products wheels get stuck on small debris on the shop floor like all the other previous designs? I find I can crawl on my back faster than this new invention.
The inventors have struck upon an idea that can change the way mechanics work in their workplace. The companies that made the "Creeper" better start worrying. The "Creeper's" days are numbered.
You're right. That's why you roll it. For a small building, no, it's not practical. I'm talking about large buildings like schools and major office buildings. Installing thousands of devices not just a few dozen. Work on a project where all you do for weeks on end is install devices and tell me this would be useless.
As a former master automotive mechanic i think this could really do well. Good luck to you and I really like the innovative idea you've come up with!
That is awesome. Well done and good luck getting it into production.
Wow! This product has so much potential not just for supporting mechanical work but also for disabled people, paramedics emergency rescue operations to think of!

--- Pinch points from scissor action.

VERY COOL idea.
THIS IS MY COUSIN ERIC!! :) IM SOOO PROUD OF YOU! YOU HAVE CHANGED THE WORLD, AND IM SO HAPPY THAT I COULD BE APART OF IT :) LOVE YOU ERIC!!
This would be an awesome adaptive mobility tool. I am disabled and this has many opportunities to help people. I could see this going from standing to sitting to lying down and who know what else? Very cool.
This is pretty amazing. You deserve a deal with someone!
I am an aircraft mechanic and this would be very helpful. Working on general aviation aircraft where creepes are too low with some while working underneath doing inspections or maintenance. You can prop yourself up with one arm but you normally need both hands for what your working on. The guys I work with, we always thought it would be great if someone made a adjustable height creeper.
For designer: honestly it is a great idea and design. Best of luck.
There is a much more practical market here than for mechanics. Grats sir, you are about to be a very rich man.
Looks versatile, manoeuvrable and also fun! I am not a mechanic but from what I see it has potential... Hope you find a sponsor and a market.
This is actualy brilliant and has a real place in the world, rarely do you see products this awesome. This would be a huge help for aging and injured mechanics. Such as those with back issues. Amazing would fund if I could.
Yes, the control arms function independently as to prevent accidental movement.
Nice piece of kit. I've seen some comments about "lazy" etc, but I'm sure studies can be done (or may already have been done) to emphasise the benefits and therefore savings in time/money etc from a reduction in back injury for just one example.
As long as it has protection system in place so you don't accidentally activate it under the car, this thing is awesome.
What a brilliant scheme for looking up skirts! We used to toss the penny and then pick it up but this is way better!
Sorry about the "fast" video. The full length one is available as well. This one was specified to be 2 minutes or under.
Good video. The only issue for me was the dancing text towards the end of the description of the product.

this thing will make offices a much better place to work

BEYOND brilliant!
this invention seems like such a simple idea if you think about how a hydraulic jack works. the inventor of this is a genius. :)
you guys just killed it!!! nice!!! great, you guys just change the world from now on.. thanks for your idea!! i want one,, can't wait to came out on the market..!!
This is amazing. As a mechanic myself I can see so many benefits to my back and knees. They get tired after a full day of up and downs. How much?
Well yeah, but trust me. It would be an amazing back saver. Having to crawl under a car, and then back out every couple minutes to look at the manual or such to make sure your doing something right can be hell on your back. Incredible!
Such a tool could have prolonged my career in truck alignments!

If I can creep form outlet to outlet at 18 inches and pop up to 4 feet to do switches, thermostats, and fire alarm devices it would save a lot of time and wear and tear on the body.
Does it come with a drink holder?
What a kick-ass invention.
Hey that's a great idea. For more exposure, have you guys considered Jay Leno's garage? He likes to help out small American manufacturers to get the word out on their products
Brilliant!
saw this on invention usa and knew it was the most genius idea for mechanic since power tools.
My knees feel better just watching this!
Need this in the office. POWER NAP!
I notice there's no sound... but I guess it doesn't matter if this turns out to be loud as hell if it's being used in a garage
Laziness really is the mother of invention..
I do not care about the logistics of financing or manufacture - I want one NOW
Very cool. With some modifications this could be a godsend to caretakers like my aunt who has to lift my uncle out of bed, up from a chair, etc. several times a day.
Once I saw it I have to own one! Great job!! Where can I get one??? How much, and how much does it weigh???
One question, is there a way to prevent accidental raising? If you are underneath a truck and your sleeve got stuck on the operating arm, are you looking to get crushed or stuck until rescue arrives? Is there an emergency release?

Why even walk around the house anymore? I'm buying this.
THis is a fantastic support for mechanics that have difficulty to roll themselves under a car and back.. and do not have a bridge, car lift or other means of getting to the undercarriage.
Is there an indication of the cost of this machinery?
Please get this thing on kickstarter and take my money
I am in a wheelchair and cannot get up if I fall. This would be perfect for me to crawl onto and get back to normal. There is nothing like it on the market now. I would buy one today if I could.
it is .happy to see it in normal motion video
My Husband just said I WANT ONE, YESTERDAY! Great idea!!!
It seems that he has to pull both handles at the same time, to get it to move.

Lastly, it's a pre-tensioned system, to save energy, so i don't believe that the chair can lift much more than 10-20 kg. more than the persons weight.
Yes. Which raises the question - will this costs as much as a vehicle lift? Will it be affordable for people who can't afford a vehicle lift?
As a mechanic I'd buy one of these.
Why is this not on Kickstarter? Want to back it!
Will you be selling to the UK?
Geez, this would save your back.
They should sell a discount version of this just for people who want to nap in place
if it was electric and came with an inbuilt toilet I would surgically attach it to myself
Screw using it in the shop, I want to use it as an everyday chair.
This could be life changing to wheelchair bound people if you motorized it.
I would so get one of these, pad it up, use it as my computer chair, and never get up. just lower down when i go to bed, raise up when the sun goes back down.
Can just imagine someone putting it up while under a car by accident haha.
its like a dentist chair on wheels
I would be interested in helping or investing into this idea. I grew up in a very blue collar envirnment with plenty of older men who's only goal is to retire to work in their shop. Where could I get more info about specifics. Cost to produce, production time, marketing etc? an email address possibly? Let me know!
DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY BACKS THIS COULD SAVE?! This should be a thing...
If you want to make something like this but cheaper. Make a creep with a smaller version of a scissor lift like a bike lift. Mount a small hand operated pump on the side where you hand would lay.
Want one for the office so I can spontaneous naps under my desk
That's cool for the at home mechanic, but most if not all garages have hoist so you don't have to bend down.
Sign me up! Perfect for working on big trucks.
Ohai! Ravine commenting on that chair :D? Sweet.
Wouldn't it be easier to just make the toolbox lower so that you can roll it in under car with you? Seems like a lot of hassle to have to go out, raise the chair, get the tool, lower the chair and go back under the car.
You had a stroke. Do you smell cinnamon rolls?
YOU ARE MY HERO!
I was thinking the samething as it would be extremely dangerous to operate under a truck. Easy solution though, just have motion detectors near the heard, if there's an object in the way it would disable the controls.
Whether they have it or not idk.
Seeing its propelled by your legs would that make it kind of useless?
It's called being efficient. Work smart, not hard...
I have no use for this, still want one.
Curious, does this products wheels get stuck on small debris on the shop floor like all the other previous designs? I find I can crawl on my back faster than this new invention.
So what happens to the noob who hoists while still under the car?
I'm guessing the primary user of these is gonna be small time, or diy home mechanics since most professional ones lift the car like 7 feet in the air?
How long does it take to go from fully flat, to most upright position? Video seems sped up...
I would use it as an office chair.
De lo más grande que he visto en mi vida, joder que bueno!
If the idea is truly sound then presentation is irrelevant, though it would never hurt. I'll donate some time, I'm a graphic designer in san diego.
The inventors have struck upon an idea that can change the way mechanics work in their workplace. The companies that made the "Creeper" better start worrying. The "Creeper's" days are numbered.
You have never really worked on a car i see.
I'm a motion graphics artist and would like to help your uncle with his presentation video where can I email him. I think his idea is fantastic
this would be great for people on wheel chairs...oh wait never mind, you still need your legs to move around.
"you didn't build that, someone else made that happen" -Obama
This guy is going to be rich.
he needs to go on sharktank
i second this please post the kick starter link if you do end up making one i would gladly invest into this
You're right. That's why you roll it. For a small building, no, it's not practical. I'm talking about large buildings like schools and major office buildings. Installing thousands of devices not just a few dozen. Work on a project where all you do for weeks on end is install devices and tell me this would be useless.
He's going to be rich I'm an auto mechanic and this would be so much help.
