In the short video, we teach you a little story/analogy to help you remember and differentiate between the different heart blocks. emergencymedicalcounsel.com
I have been a paramedic for 20 years and have never heard it explained this way. Excellent job!!! I very well may use this when teaching blocks to my students!!!
Now, this is the best way I have learnt AV blocks. in less than 3min, I totally got the concept. Am glad I found it. will be using it for my NPTE exam this October.
Every year, I review this video. As far as I'm concerned, this is the best heart block video out there! It's short, sweet, and much easier to remember with the husband/wife analogy!!!
I was reading this topic in my book awhile ago and it gave me a hard time, not until I watched your video, I was able to understand it clearly for less than 3 min! thank you!
Brilliant analogy ! I get !!, Really great explanation. Sometimes telling a story is the way to get to the brain. Excellent job who ever put this together. Clear and fun ! Take a look and tell your friends.
Thank you soooooo much hahhaha! this is great! I wish everything was explained like this! This is exactly how I learn and never forget! Also how appropriate haha "heart block" "broken - blocked hearts" SO PERFECT
I’m taking ACLS and I could not for the life of me, tell the difference between the Type 2s. Thank you for the video!! Though the couple have a sad ending, the analogy of a wife waiting for her husband to come home helped immensely!!
Thanks for explanation. I learned it the other way around, where the husband was the p wave, who was getting late more and more, and the wife, qrs, went her own way. Either way, thanks for sharing!
Really entertaining! Stories like this are the best way for me to learn. I'll direct my med school class your way. We are all having a rough time with cardio right now. Especially with interpreting EKGs.
Easiest way I teach my student is First Degree and Second Degree 2 are consistent PR intervals, Second Degree I and Third are inconsistent PR intervals. FIrst degree is long and consistent Second Degree II is short and consistent Second Degree I is inconsistent with lengthening PR intervals before dropped complex Third Degree, complete dissociation, has Ps on T and no 2 PR intervals are the same.
I like the idea of husband and wife....when husbands get late everyday and then doesn't show up....that is Mobitz 1 or Type 1 lol Thank you for such funny idea
I must have learned this like six times, EMT-B, nursing school, ACLS. Nobody has explained it so simply and in a way that makes so much sense, tanks!
You cleared up in 2 minutes what took 30 minutes for my teacher to confuse me over, thanks!
I agree completely... makes total sense... great storyline lol. Myra RN
Easiest explanation ever. I’ve been a nurse for 15 years and have always struggled. This cleared everything up
I have been a paramedic for 20 years and have never heard it explained this way. Excellent job!!! I very well may use this when teaching blocks to my students!!!

omg this was the best way I have ever heard this described and I have taken ACLS for 6 years!!
Now, this is the best way I have learnt AV blocks. in less than 3min, I totally got the concept. Am glad I found it. will be using it for my NPTE exam this October.
Pretty clever and entertaining way to teach AV blocks
Thanks Bryan!
Not really- its a method of instruction that's been used a million times in the instructional materials.
John Doe correct, even the ACLS certification institute used this method on their channel
