    I'm very impressed by how calm Mendelssohn was throughout! And he sure is a looker

    And to think he's retired to stud with American Pharoah and Justify! What a cool place to be!

    One of the very rare expensive yearlings who might actually be worth the bucks...

      Can he dethrone AP Indy for the title of “Most successful $2million+ yearling”

      Leslie's Lady may be the most successful brood mare of all time. Wonder who she will be bred to after American Pharoah?

      @helixcheerleader 6 лет назад

      I think time will tell on that matter, to me a good broodmare isn't just herself a good producer but also consistently produces horses that go on to become good producers. Urban Sea is my probably my favourite - Arc winner herself, goes on to foal the likes of Galileo and Sea the Stars who are not only both Classic winners (multiple Classics winners!) but the latter also won the Arc. I don't think one needs to sell Galileo's praises as a stallion anymore either, and StS is doing well. One thing is for sure though, I don't think any other American broodmare has produced two different offspring who've put on two performances the caliber of Beholder in the Pacific Classic and Mendelssohn in the UAE Derby. If she isn't a "blue hen" then I don't know who is.

      helixcheerleader I agree but that’s exactly what she’s doing, into mischief isn’t just a sire, he’s a top sire standing for 100,000 and very little stallions stand for that much wich also increases the chances that Mendelssohn will one day be a good sire carrying his mother’s legacy and that of his sire; scatt daddy who was an incredible loss to the sport

    Why do the handlers jerk them when they aren't doing anything wrong?

    Oh wow never knew Justify and Mendelssohn were brothers :o

    Yes, she has, the foal should be due soon. Beholder gave birth to a colt with Uncle Mo recently. So Leslie's Lady legacy should only keep growing.

    Helluva pedigree, looks great, great demeanor, travels internationally with no problems as we have since seen from this horse, wins. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if he won the KD or even the whole Triple Crown banana. :)

      My, what a nasty attitude you have. Do you get paid to be a juvenile delinquent or does it come naturally?

      paul morgan he’s one of the few horses where it makes sense to spend that much money, now what he’s already proofen and what his future might hold he could be worth double digit millions, he’s got the best pedigree out there and even if he hadn’t seen much success he would probably still become a sire just because of his pedigree and his brothers accomplishments at stud

    i usually throw non u.s raced horses out but with his pedigree i just can't.

      john, what was i thinking? i guess i scratched out the u.s. race because it was on the turf. with his pedigree he could be king of the world.he has a pedigree you dream about. thanks for your reply.
