Poland's Tomasz Majewski wins the gold medal in the men's shot put event in the Olympic Stadium at the London 2012 Olympic Games (4 August).
Germany's David Storl won the silver medal in the event with the USA's Reese Hoffa winning bronze.
Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

Tomasz is an awesome dude!!

To jest chrzestny mojej koleżanki
Whos the genius that decided a girl should do the translating for these men?
lmfao ikr
i was really proud watching Majewski score that last one, improving his last result. it might not look like it on the video but i saw him at the Munich airport two years later and this guy is absolutely huge (and i assume the others who performed there are as well), i'm sure that if he liked he could have hijacked the entire plane with his bare hands
David Storl's scream after his throw is epic
check out Adam Nelson in the 2000's competitions. That guy went crazy before and after every throw xD
Majewski is wonderfully awkward in interviews.
The person who got bronze. their yell was the best
Nie Madżewski tylko Majewski :D
cant wait for Olympic 2016 Shot Put
Good old Polska
Never heard Majewski speak English before. He's good.
Storl has classic glide style. Majewski is just an explosive giant who does what it takes to win.
In a couple of years it will be Storl and Gill, then for maybe a decade all Jacko at the rate he seems to improves each year.
Tomku dziękujemy za dwa złote medale olimpijskie 😊
Ilove you shot put is the best
POLSKA!!!
3:55
thats what ive been looking for
It seems like Majewski misunderstood the question about "summing up" his experience at London. He seemed to think that his personal experience in the sport was being questioned.
Majewski is such a cute and nice guy.
The Polish viking
It really depends on your size. Glide is better for tall people but if you're short, stick to rotational.
More in terms of capability. Ryan Crouser is 6'8". Rotation is more suited for shorter athletes due to the power and speed, tall people can do either tho
Are you short
The women's shot put results were altered as the best performer, Nadzeya Ostapchuk (Belarus) was disqualified because she tested positive for metenolone (a steroid). Valerie Adams (New Zealand) was then given the gold as a result. Ostapchuk threw 21.36 m vs. Adams' 20.70.
awesme throw
the mens shotput in high school throw better than the women's shot in the olympics xD
put the speed on 0.5
Rio 2016 will be awesome! I'm thinking on majewski,storl,Jacko Gill,maybe Tomas Walsh,i don't think cantwell will make it,reese i guess,dylan amstrong,German Lauro,whiting,and why not?
