Aside from claiming Sam said things he didn’t say, two seconds after he said them, he just won’t answer any questions without saying, “that’s not what I’m here to debate.” I’m sure that tactic works with children. Sam literally said, “30% of the time ,” and then this guy said, “You said 30 times.” He did that 3 or 4 times. Because he doesn’t really have any argument here. He wants to throw the baby out with the bath water.
I also wonder about the fact that somehow Jackson’s mic volume is constant and when Sam attempts to finish a sentence, It sounds like Sam’s voice cannot be discerned while Jackson continues to steamroll via verbal diarrhea.

Check out Jackson's debate on Taiwan with Dylan Burns and/or the one where he denies Assad's chemical weapons attacks with Vaush. He does the same thing every time, it's what I am now calling The Hinkle Method: -Opponent says something you don't have talking points ready for -Yell over them -Change the subject repeatedly until you land on something you do have talking points ready for -Accuse opponent of having the same opinion as the state department or CIA or whatever -Be as vague as possible whenever possible -Never let your opponent elaborate on their position -Never answer questions -Never engage with hypotheticals -Never explicitly state your position -Keep getting more and more unhinged until you're either kicked off or the debate comes to a close -After the debate post multiple videos flexing and declaring victory None of that is in any particular order because nothing Hinkle does seems to have much thought behind it. His main goal seems to be above all else to obfuscate. He has been paid by the same Assadist group that paid Jimmy Dore and Max Blumenthal (search Serena Shim Award for Uncompromising Integrity in Journalism if you don't believe me) so even if he somehow manages to do well in a debate it's worth noting that he's very clearly not an honest actor. Edit: He's also not even remotely a communist for the record. Never heard him or anyone in the Infrared/Caleb Maupin/Jimmy Dore circlejerk advocate for anything related to worker ownership, class abolition or decommodification. My conservative brother has the exact same debate-bro toxic energy. Constantly interrupts and performs gish gallops. But if you interrupt once (really just because he interrupted you and you're trying to continue your original point), he'll claim you're the only one doing the interrupting. He'll raise his voice, yell, be condescending, but as soon as I do it ONCE (because I'm constantly being interrupted, yelled at, and having my points distorted) he claims I'm being "emotional" (even though he's actually being emotional). It's a convenient way to shut me down since I'm a woman. This guy reminds me a lot of that. It's soul destroying.
I think his stance was that the squad could just vote down everything until Congress and the Senate fold to their demands. Debate bros always have some fanfiction about how politics work.

Jackson Hinkle as always is just rattling off his prepared list of grievances and is doing everything to prevent a real productive conversation from happening.
I've never seen this Jackson guy before but right from the start he was incredibly condescending and unrelenting in his belligerence. He was just ranting and making snide remarks, "I don't support an increase to the State Department, unlike you". My eyebrows went up when he told Sam to let him finish and show a little respect. Was he listening to himself? He could have been a little nicer given he asked to be on the show. It's unfortunate because he had some good points. I don't believe the friendliness of the delivery has any bearing on the legitimacy of the point someone makes, but his attitude didn't make it easy for Sam to address anything he was saying. He was just ranting about bad stuff and then trying to get Sam to admit he's a shill.

@@sergeikhripun BGJ and this guy are dishonest. The FTV "plan" out of Dore's mouth was for 15 progressives to simply "withhold their votes" or "not vote" for Pelosi. That's the way he worded it repeatedly. That does imply abstaining, which would have handed the speakership to McCarthy. Dore didn't say they needed to cast protest votes. In fact, Dore made it clear that he didn't know how things worked, and falsely claimed it was impossible for McCarthy to win, unless Democrats voted for him. Jimmy made perfectly clear that he had things so wrong, that he wouldn't think abstaining was a problem.
Meanwhile Sam respectfully tries to get a few words in and Jackson is like: "Stop interrupting me Sam, I let you talk." Only after gish galloping Sam for several minutes.
Jackson talks over Sam for 20 minutes straight, stays quiet for 3 minutes and then tells Sam to not talk over him cause he was quiet for those 3 minutes. Says "Nancy Pelosi is not popular with Democratic voters", MR staff pull up data so show otherwise ,Jackson; "Did I say she wasn't popular with Democratic voters or are you putting word in my mouth?" My analysis from every Jackson Hinkle Debate: his points could be far more salient if he didn’t brow beat the hell out of his opponent and come off as extremely obnoxious and rude
He also has the problem of constant strawmanning, at one point Sam says I didn't have an issue with this. Hinkle only a few minutes later claims Sam said I never talked about it.
So you admit they were salient arguments. You just think they would be "more salient" if he engaged in respectability politics? This comment perfectly sums up Sam Seder's audience!
@@ericbrooks939 I am doing a debate analysis. You can be 100% correct in the points you’re making, but if you’re a asshole, the audience is not going to be as receptive. I am not a Sam Seder MR regular. I agree with some of Jackson’s views. My original comment was made because I believe that, whether it’s “wrong or “right”, it is easier for your opponent to challenge the legitimacy of your arguments when you behave like a jackass. Even when you don’t think they deserve it, treating your opponent with respect builds legitimacy in the eyes of an audience member. I just want folks like Jackson to relax and not jump to insult everyone who doesn’t instantly agree with them.
@@ericbrooks939 No. Salient doesn't mean "correct". It means "prominent" or "noticeable". OP is saying any points Hinkle may have are not visible because he focuses on being rude.

What debate were you watching? Sam shouted over Jackson the ENTIRE time, refused to ever discuss the agree upon debate topics and even muted Jackson's microphone and declared victory because he wasn't responding. You MR fanboys are absolutely delusional.
@@transcendentalmess I watched this "debate". Jackson did eventually listen a bit but he never engaged in good faith. Even when asking questions he snuck in side dialog. When it was pointed out that AOC got her significant legislation through the house all Hackson could say was it didn't pass the senate. He was left looking ridiculous after being shown to have lied to his own father, having no answer to Sam's point about passed legislation and a hilarious reliance on the phrase "force the vote" which had no meaning. My favorite part though was how Jackson spent the debate interrupting Sam and then whining every time he got interrupted back. Sam was smart, when he proved Jackson wasn't worth being taken seriously he stopped taking him seriously. Jackson had ever opportunity to make his case, and instead he chose sound bytes over substance and a gishgallop. This is what we should expect from someone who claims that Aoc is going to bring about American facism.
@@ApostateltsopA I think this conversation was framed differently for you MR listeners. There was a list of debate topics that were agreed upon by both parties in advance. What you interpreted as "side dialog" was Hinkle desperately trying to bring the conversation back to the agreed upon topics. Similarly, you seem to be attaching a lot of importance to trivial moments, e.g., "AOC's significant legislation". I don't remember which piece of legislation they were discussing, but if it's true that it made it through the House but never became law, is it really so problematic to suggest that this is a poor example of AOC's legislative mastery? What's this you're on about regarding Hinkle's father? I vaguely remember the MR supporting cast jumping into the debate uninvited with a bunch of snide remarks. Is this what you're referring to? How does this have any bearing upon anything at all whatsoever? What really caught my interest in what you said, though, was this comment about "force the vote" having no meaning. Force the vote was the name given to a push to have members of the House to demand a floor vote on Medicare For All in exchange for supporting Nancy Pelosi's bid to be Speaker of the House. Debate on this subject raged online for months and revealed and exacerbated deep divisions on the left. While it is coherent to say that you were opposed to this strategy is one thing, but to claim that it has no meaning is absolutely absurd.
@@transcendentalmess So just to touch on a few points here. I think you are extending Jackson far too much benefit of the doubt. His behavior at the outset was execrable. Rewatch the first exchanges. A gish gallop is a rhetorical debate tactic usually seen from creationists and popularized by Dwane Gish. Where a huge number of nuanced points are thrown out in a rapid sequence and presented as of they are of substance but the person doing so refuses to let their interlocutor address the points with the nuance they require. This debate opening is a textbook example and demonstrates bad faith participation. It immediately discredited Jackson in my eyes. Second you may want to check if you are responding via tribalism. By your own admission you aren't familiar with "the little matter" of her success. That success was getting 3 billion dollars of legislation, not just voted on, but passed in the house. So you seem to be suggesting that for a house rep to be successful they need to also master the Senate and be able to command a fillabuster proof majority in the house to which they are not a member. That's not a reasonable bar for a house rep. Its a heck of a lift for the Speaker which is why we have a Majority leader in the senate. When it comes to Force the vote Jackson used that phrase repeatedly. He said it in response to conversations about issues which occurred long after Nancy was the Speaker. That is why the phrase lost meaning. Jackson was using it like a talisman or invocation. He repeatedly linked it to other votes where he claimed they were "must pass legeslation" and that they passed wirh 6 or fewer votes. Holding up a vote is not forcing a vote. Moreover he's assuming 1. That final vote counts are know before the vote and w. That the squad didn't push for any of their agenda for Pelosi to secure their votes. He would need to offer evidence to support those assumptions and he did not offer any. Sam showed that AOC and crew were able to draft and pass major legislation in the House. What was Jackson's best point made? As for the father, they played a clip of Jackson claiming his parents told him three lies as a child,Santa, tooth fairy and the military in the US fights for peace. This is after Jackson dropped the call when he wouldn't let them help him unmute. If you watched on Jackson's channel you probably missed it. A response was then shown from his father showing that Jackson was never taught that about the military. It demonstrates that Jackson will distort the truth to make a point. Similarly Jackson has said that the squad will lead us to facism but that they are the most progressive members of congress. That leads to the suggestion Sam tried to work in at the end about Jackson wanting a 3rd party or the us system abolished. We didn't get to hear that debate though. For my money I'm not a MR listener. I'm a listener who tunes into Minority Report among many shows and I'm not tribally defending Sam. I wish he had called Jackson's behavior out far earlier because ot poisoned the well, badly, right from the start. You do seem to be having a tribal response though. You haven't defended a point Jackson made, don't seem to have payed attention to the debate and keeps pointing to tribe identifiers, "MR listener". That's worth some introspection time if you want to be taken seriously.

Why would lenin label him a revisionist? The fundamental essence of Marxist, theoretical Marxian philosophical science,Marxist critical analysis of sociology has deliberated on the issue of aggregation, accessory to basal Marxist ideation, such as historical & dialectical materialism, explaining that distinctive material realities exist, and have to be appropriately accommodated to its social condition. Lenin would have have been labeled a revisionist as he expanded upon Marxist thought, dispelling prerequisite factors needed to achieve communism, but Karl Marx commemorated him as to installing his own interpretation pragmatically proving some preconceptions and indignant beliefs Marx held inaccurate, which then was corrected and reiterated. Lenin was also a nationalist, patriot, he emphasized the love for his nation, language. Actually his point is if republicans vote in favor of donors, and corporate Dems vote like Republicans, and progressives vote like corporate Dems, then there's no point in voting for ANY of them.
Not a grifter at all. He said that using the leverage of the minority such as Manchin and Sinima could and would achieve progressive concessions. Choosing to not tow the line of corporate interests would force them to come to you, aka Manchin getting BBB reduced, Tea Party not allowing the government to be funded, and numerious other instances in recent history minority interests used to move the needle on issues they believed important. Rather practical, and far from a grift.
Jackson rage quitting for Sam cutting him off was hilarious given that Jackson repeatedly cut Sam off far more times earlier in the "debate". It's not even close who cut off the other person more, Sam just didn't say anything about it and let Jackson have a soapbox in the beginning. Jackson Hinkle = bad faith actor
@James Neilson You want to tally the number of times Jackson interrupted Sam vs the amount of times Sam interrupted Jackson? The ratio wouldn't be even close to 50/50 and anyone who watched the entire "debate" can see that.
Yes, he's very bad against more experienced debaters. Hinkle's tactic is "louder is righter", but he's showing more respect here than towards Vaush or something (also that debate was hillarious, like he said people could just open the windows in the Syrian chemical attack)
This guy interrupted you and talked over you the entire debate but then when you finally started to stand up for yourself on your own show he started pretending like you're interrupting him and it's laughable. This man is extremely intellectually dishonest and disingenuous but he has the nerve to tell you that you're being dishonest. This person is not worth ever debating again. It's not that he has bad ideas it's just that he's intellectually dishonest and he's not a honest interlocutor
31:50 WTF. Did he just turn off his camera so he could do research unnoticed? Dude, it's okay if you don't know something, to fact check in real time, or even ask to move on if you are unsure about something. 😂
Hinkle's debate style is the equivalent of the belligerent drunk dude yelling "hold me back bro" after he walked into a confused stranger then tried to fight said stranger
"Don't interrupt me, Sam". Proceeds to later interrupt Sam. "I let you speak, Sam". Gets upset at not being allowed to run on and on with criticisms. This guy has a massive ego and a chip on his shoulder.
He is a poster child of that right wing trope about self identified communists raised in rich suburban homes whom never worked hard labor in their life. What a poser.
Well, he certainly wasn't here to have a good faith debate. He just wanted to filibuster and argue his points while ignoring anything that wasn't what he was "here to debate".
Also this is not a debate. He is shifting topics, not responding to obvious questions, fails to give examples and fails to come to a conclusion. His brand is not long for this earth.
@@daysjours Hmm... that must be why Sam has a steady 1.17 million subs and your debate-bro-boy has... what? 20, maybe 30k? Yeah, there's a reason for that. Enjoy your stay.
Most people on his show know how to lead a debatte. This guy think if he talks over someone he wins. Its the mind set of the weak and you cant be anything but weak after someone says "Go cry to your parents"- Sam
This was just one big attempt at a gotcha on the communist's part. Maybe Sam should have tried to gotcha him back by herding him towards his comments about AOC being the vanguard of fascism or his childish crying about America's softball COVID-19 restrictions that he tried to compare to fascism (Jackson was clearly in favor of letting COVID kill even more Americans than it did).

it’s because he isn’t good at it. it’s fine but very annoying to refuse people the opportunity to challenge ur ideas when you have some terrible positions for example Hasan on virtually anything to do with foreign policy including Ukraine. Also Hinkle just being a straight up fascist on top of being insufferable maybe plays into ur comment
@@Cussy69_420 if you can’t articulate your positions well then your positions aren’t defendable. Hasan is bad at it. But he shares more in common with Sam than most. Debate is central to politics. This is the Dumdum Left the late great Michael Brooks spoke of. Jackson Hinkle seems like the kind of bandwagon Dore clone motivated as much by attention as any concrete beliefs, but even if he was 100% genuine, it’s the same kind of blunt, gormless rage without any plan of action or tangible goals. The constant use of Force The Vote as a litmus test is the tell with people like this. I have politics far further left than Sam, but Sam has it quite right that it’s been disappointing that the Squad hasn’t used their power more. In addition, he has it right that politicians need to be seen less as individuals with a set of values but as a sum of the desires of their constituents. The push and pull of incentives then make up how they vote and act. Once you contextualize politicians in this way, you get a lot less “hurt” by “betrayal” and come to not only anticipate their moves, but find the mechanisms by which to move them. In short, more local organizing to push politicians in the right direction, less tweeting “fraud squad.”

Sam should have done a video history comparison to show Winkle's audience how bias he really is compared to Sam.
Change will only come from criticizing you own party. If a stranger says "Hey fatty what up" you dont really care. But if your wife or mother or husband says it, its a reality check that you may need to get that health back in line.
@@sunnydlite-t8b There's a difference between constructive criticism and destructive criticism. And above all definitely not a left wing advocate, but a detractor.
@@sunnydlite-t8b That's why his audience is full of right-wingers, right? You interpret criticism of your own as meaning always criticizing your own and then placating a right-wing audience. That's absurd.
As it turns out, yes. Or intentionally misrepresenting Sam to bolster his position, who knows. I’m 10 minutes in and this guy can’t shut up for more than 5 seconds before interrupting Sam. The value of that particular strategy is of course to make it seem as if Sam can’t defend his position. Just lame debate bro tactics that makes this very tiresome to listen to.
He has talking points on his screen so of course he isn't paying attention to Sam. He just wanted to say his talking points. 6 members of Congress has no leverage. Even if they blocked the state department bill then what? They are not getting M4A, 15 min wage, or anything because it will be blocked by the Senate. Hell, Pelosi could just find 3 or 4 Republicans who voted for that bill but she didn't need too. He is clueless on how the government works. He thinks you go there and insult everyone in there and then hope your bill somehow passes. Congress isn't Twitter.
He had a debate with someone else on YT about the Syrian gas attacks claiming it was a false flag. This dude being compared to a Jimmy Dore fan is pretty accurate because he's just as stupid/disingenuous. Also, Marxist-Leninist is a longform way of saying 'tankie', which is someone that supports the state force to bring about communism via violence and probably has no problems with the implications and historical failures that brings. To put it another way, he's an authoritarian who wraps himself in the language of leftist ideals, lives in a fantasy land mentally and probably likes to never flush his toilet because that's where he gets the meat for his hamburgers for lunch.
What's it called when someone claims to be a progressive but only wants to talk about how bad progressives are doing and doesn't want to criticize anyone else?
He’s a concern troll. It’s all bad faith arguing. When it stops working out for him he’ll eventually just come out with his “why I left the left” video and go join the right wing officially.

It's just contrarian or virtue signaling. They don't actually care about progressive policies getting passed. They just want you to think they are more "extreme" than anyone else 🙄
At least we could hear the somewhat childish or misguided points that guy was making. I think Washington would eat him alive and he would not be able to get anything done if he were a politician.
In his view, AOC would never go on Sam's show if Sam 'actually' criticised her because you can't criticise someone without making an enemy of them. That's probably their reasoning for why they can never get anyone on their own shows, it's not because they're dumb and have nothing worth saying its because AOC is scared of them.

Check out Jackson's debate on Taiwan with Dylan Burns and/or the one where he denies Assad's chemical weapons attacks with Vaush. He does the same thing every time, it's what I am now calling The Hinkle Method:
-Opponent says something you don't have talking points ready for
-Yell over them
-Change the subject repeatedly until you land on something you do have talking points ready for
-Accuse opponent of having the same opinion as the state department or CIA or whatever
-Be as vague as possible whenever possible
-Never let your opponent elaborate on their position
-Never answer questions
-Never engage with hypotheticals
-Never explicitly state your position
-Keep getting more and more unhinged until you're either kicked off or the debate comes to a close
-After the debate post multiple videos flexing and declaring victory
None of that is in any particular order because nothing Hinkle does seems to have much thought behind it.

My analysis from every Jackson Hinkle Debate: his points could be far more salient if he didn’t brow beat the hell out of his opponent and come off as extremely obnoxious and rude
To his fans, the "browbeating"/sanctimonious behavior is the salient point being made.
Every time I see Hinkle, he has his camera set up at an angle to intentionally make it look as if he’s striking a heroic worker pose from Soviet propaganda 70 years ago. There’s something incredibly creepy about that.
So apparently Jackson's "debate style" is to gish gallop all over and refuse to let Sam get more than fifteen syllables out. He should be on Fox.
The only things that helped me get through this were Sam's incredulity and Matt's giggles from the background. One of the most painful "debates" I've ever seen. This Jackson fella is a fool.

This was just one big attempt at a gotcha on the communist's part.
Jackson actually goes to rallys and helps organize on ground level. When does Sam leave his studio?

@@sunnydlite-t8b There's a difference between constructive criticism and destructive criticism.
This angry lunatic whole strategy was making unreasonable destructive criticism attacks and defending them by conflating it with reasonable constructive criticism.
Hearing him unironically say that the squad are the vanguards of fascism should be enough for any sane person to understand that this Dore fan is at best an absolute idiot or at worst a clout chaser. And above all definitely not a left wing advocate, but a detractor.
@@sunnydlite-t8b That's why his audience is full of right-wingers, right? You interpret criticism of your own as meaning always criticizing your own and then placating a right-wing audience. That's absurd.
So Jackson's strategy is to not pay attention to what Sam is saying and then later insist he said something else?
As it turns out, yes. Or intentionally misrepresenting Sam to bolster his position, who knows. I’m 10 minutes in and this guy can’t shut up for more than 5 seconds before interrupting Sam. The value of that particular strategy is of course to make it seem as if Sam can’t defend his position. Just lame debate bro tactics that makes this very tiresome to listen to.
Yes. Jabson Honkle is a clout chasing fraud. There isn't a single genuine thing about him.
Jackson is an average listener in this world. You could say something 1minute ago and he'd forget the words you said.

In his view, AOC would never go on Sam's show if Sam 'actually' criticised her because you can't criticise someone without making an enemy of them.
