yes that is a special feeling and it really vindicates your product. I have had the same customer coming several times to buy my small seedling tomatoes. at a place where other vendors have big ones. my plants are small for a reason, I stress them which makes them produce more and be happy with any treatment. Getting repeat customers really show that what you are doing are great.
I've hit all of these except copycats and getting my product featured. The latter is my current goal. One milestone not on your list was my first return customer. When someone enjoyed my product enough to come back for more. That made me feel like I might be onto something. Thanks, Mei, for all of your helpful info!
A major milestone for me was getting my first sale and review! A 5* review was the catalyst to gain a reputation and more sales because it shows that I'm trustworthy and that someone finds value within your work. For me I didn't sell to family or friends but they gave big help as I was able to pool all my Christmas and birthday money to build my brand. Realising that I could now pay for me tuition with my business is such a weight of my back with how things were going downhill. I'm so grateful!
I've been preparing for a business and your videos are really helpful! The last one though, sometimes I get stuck in an idea because other shop owners were able to think and do it ahead of me. Sometimes I wonder what if I'm the copycat 😅 but I step back and reflect that " hey, with all the billion people in the world, I can't be the only who can think of such a genius idea!" Then I move on because I now feel validated rather than go spiral down 😁
I think with idea like that where someone has "thought of it already", you are never going to do it the exact same way as someone else. You are going to put your own creative spin on it and make it look the way you see it and design it, so I say go ahead and try out your ideas!
Thank you so much, Dawn Marie! I really try to remember the good in with the bad because there really is so much more good when you start to look at it. 😊
I would second the comments about getting repeat customers. It really lifts you up and validates that your product is a good one. I’m only starting out but have reached a few of the first milestones already…which is awesome. Thank you for this video…it’s given me the affirmation that I’m on the right track 💕
Always realistic. I love it. Thank you for the heads up. I have not sold one piece, yet but I don't think it will be to friends or family. I already have interests. Partly do to your advice
I appreciate that so much, Rosalie! I'm going to be doing a live workshop here on Wednesday! If you're subscribed, hit the bell to be notified when it starts!
Aaaaaahh..... These are all milestone i will face a day and now i am eagerly waiting to face all of them with all my guts 😎😎😣😣😥 Thank you so much for addressing them..love love
@@CreativeHiveCo you are such a great sweet amazing person you always reply , its such hard to reply everytime with a schedule so busy , i appreciate you .😘😘😘😘😘 May god fulfil all your dreams.love love
Another great video, thank you Mei. I agree with all your milestones. I'm so grateful to have repeat customers and my "Yay" moment is gaining new customers. My website doesn't allow for reviews as yet and I haven't had my greeting cards featured by any influencers. I'll add both of those to my list. Thanks for the wonderful info.
Excellent video amen. I noticed a few video dislikes on my latest channel videos but all of a sudden there were double or triple the amount in a single day. Very odd. Maybe a covert attack lol. Good thing I got past seeing the first few dislikes recently to prepare. I will admit that since my channel is prioritized as an informational effort it's easy to not commit more time and effort in the quality variable of video making. Taking measures this week to up my game. Thanks for sharing, James, Rescue Kitty😺 & Snowvan!
It could also be a bot, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. If the thumbs downs are minimal, that's pretty typical. You can't please everyone all the time.
Such valuable information in this video. All the milestones are covered here. Thanks for the guidance in regard with the approach and attitude one must have while responding to these developments.
Thanks, nice to know I reached a few of these milestones. How about getting our store up or the first few products into our online store, that's an achievement? What tips would you have or where do we learn ideas for policy of what to do if an original unique piece of art or gift goes astray? Hasn't happened but many of my items are originals or one off designs, not duplicates. I have items that are printed onto products but for my own, what policy could I have or would I have in place?
Hi Shoshanah! Congrats on getting your store up!! That's indeed an achievement!! 🥳🥳 With regards to policies, I think it is still best that you do some research on what are the best policies to put in place for one-of-a-kind items like yours. Good luck!! You got this!!
For another cool milestone is when you can quit your day job? I may not hit that, I don't have a job other than babysitting because 14 year olds aren't allowed to get jobs
It could be! Not everyone is after that, and that one takes a LOT of work, but it would definitely be a HUGE milestone. And Nini is right - you can start to plan a business now and then when you're old enough you'll be ahead of the game.
@@CreativeHiveCo ok thanks! I know that's the goal eventually (at least for me) I'm planning as much as I possibly can (at least that I can think of) until I save enough to actually start
That's great! You could also see if one of your parents would work with you to help you start your business. I know several businesses that are a parent/child team.

I've hit all of them except hiring someone on full time! So far just hired people to help with projects :)
That's amazing! Still a milestone to take on even part-time help, though. So many people don't even do that. You're doing awesome!!

Wow!! You're doing amazing Shoshanah!! ❤️❤️
When you get your first international customer!
Yes! And then start keeping track of new countries!
Each country is a milestone when you sell internationally and I enjoy each moment :).
Oh yes, that's a fun one. I know people who keep maps of their sales.
First organic sale!
Yes! The best!
Waiting on my first sale
You're going to be so excited when you get it, Danielle!!
Also too many positive reviews looks suspicious a few critical and even negative reviews makes your business looks pretty legit

First like first comment!
